    Question Re: For Women

Just wanted to say that on day 8 of my cleanse, I started my period and felt kinda bloated. My tummy was gurgurling alot and I had to go poop alot too.

I have had no cramps though and I really liked that, cuz I usually get cramping on the first couple days. It seems like I am hungrier though, since my period started.

I am on day 9 right now and I cannot wait to finally eat something!!

I think I have actually gained weight on the cleanse but only because my period started. Could it be water weight gain and bloating that will go away when my period is done?

Hi AVeryGoodThing, Sure you can gain some water weight during your period while on the MC, but look at one of the bennies of being on the MC! No cramps! Yea! Also, I would guess that you will lose the water weight pretty quickly, since you are not stuffing yourself w/ lots of salty and/or sugary junk.
If you are hungrier, drink an extra glass or 2 of lemonade, and don't forget to keep drinking H2O!

Desiree has probably finished her fast by now, but I still wanted to make a few comments.
I think the timing of starting the fast and the start of your period has something to do with it.

I started the fast a few days after my period and originally intended to do 10 days—avoiding having my period during the fast. After reading the stages of fasting, I decided to try for a pink tongue (however long that ended up being).

So now I'm on day 21 and this is the last day of my period. I'm anemic and thought I would be dizzy, but not really. I did notice a MUCH lighter flow, brighter colored blood, and some clots released, which is good, I think. I did not experience my usual cramping or cravings.

About the weight gain, my first ten days, I lost nothing and the second ten days, all of a sudden lost weight. I think a half a size, but I wasn't really overweight to start. I heard that the fast will make your weight normalize, so if you're underweight, you gain. I also read that increasing the Maple Syrup can make you gain weight if you want to.

Hi socalgrl: I would say that it probably is the MC, but that's OK. Just "Be Prepared"!

socalgrl: Some of the MC'ers have noted that when they have their period during the MC, cramps and such are a lot less. Hope it's that way for you! Just keep drinking water and lemonade!
