Ok, I must the THE ONE person who had issues during my period. I think it just goes to show that the "your mileage may vary" addage applies to everything.
Everything was going well for six days. On Day 7 my husband and I were running around town for errands and I found myself getting weak. I had to sit down a few times. This just happened to be when my period started(day 1). Ok, fine. I was pretty lethargic that night, but I wasn't going to let it beat me.
Day 8/day 2 - I was really starting to get weak and lose focus at work in the afternoon, and without a medical degree and only the knowledge of my own body, I fully attributed it to blood loss and no food. It wasn't until I picked my kids up and got them home for their bath that I really started to feel it. I lost all energry and started getting light-headed. I was not feeling right. I called my husband and told him about it, and made the decision to prepare a quick vegetable soup. I just didn't like the way I was feeling and knowing that I had the power to change it, well, I had to.
I had a medium sized bowl of vegetable soup last night. I have to say that my tummy was a bit upset, but my mood completely changed.
Day 9 - I woke up feeling better. I've decided to continue on and complete the full 10 days of the cleanse. I'm starting to envision life after the cleanse - sipping lemonade during the day with a great dinner at night.
So back to the "flow". The only way I can explain it is like this....
At the eastern edge of the Grand Canyon is Glen Canyon damn. GC Damn is what creates Lake Powell, and it also regulates the flow of the Colorado River. Because the natural flow of the river is affected, the Canyon floor accumulates tons of mud and soot that would normally get washed away naturally. So every five years the government basically opens the damn a bit, which increases the flow of the river, thereby washing all the accumulated mud. It's a nice spring cleaning for the canyon floor.
That is what I'm experiencing. The amount and even color of my flow is like I haven't seen in I can't recall how long. I truly feel that my body is cleansing itself like it hasn't done in a very long time, but it also equates to a larger blood loss. The blood loss and the lack of food is what I'm attributing the symptoms above to
Just had to share. Yes, I felt bad breaking a 100% clean cleanse, but I had to do it. Knowing your body also means listening to it when it's giving you signs that something may not be right.
