So i have taken the past few weeks to thoroughly read the book and look into all aspects of this cleanse as well as be mentally prepared for this cleanse.

I specifically chose today to start this since it was after the Super Bowl ( Pittsburgh... nice!) and I knew there wouldnt be any major roadblocks for me that i cant overcome.....

Morning has been alot of fun in the bathroom... yay... guess the salt water that i had to really chug fast b/c it tasted soooo bad is working nicely.... good to see

Love seeing others saying how they feel on day 5 or 7 or 10, keeping my mind set on the goal and knowing that i will get there...

I am starting Day 1 tomorrow, I would have started today but will do a salad for lunch and no dinner tonight to get ready for tomorrow. I need to lose 20 pounds for a Mexico trip on March 4th. I can hardly wait to start losing and getting rid of body aches.

Hey Sammi....
Good to hear that you are starting this, Im doing great on this first day.. wow the Salt Water Flush was TERRIBLE... i had to add some extra water into to actually get it down..... once i got it down my stomach had a fit... had to hit the bathroom 2 times... then i calmed down but then I got VERY cold... I was freezing here at my desk and it's a warm office and i was wearing a sweater.... that wore off and i just finished my 3rd lemonade bomb and it is actually good...
If you want a Lemon buddy, you got one on in me, im on the pc all day and we can help each other if you need that help, Im sure I will need some help as the days wear on.... ... =)

That sounds great! I'm online pretty much all day as well. I'm dreading day 1, but it helps to know others are doing it. I would like to go 10 days for sure.

Hello lets_do_this and Sammi,

I'm on Day 1 also. I'm glad there are others starting at the same time.

I did another cleanse where you flush with Epsom Salts dissolved in water. One thing I found that helped it go down was to mix it in advance, add some fresh lemon juice, and keep it in the fridge. I haven't done it with this cleanse since it's not so bad tasting for me.

Another suggestion that's been made here is to drink it with a straw. I think that might bypass some of the salt tastebuds on the tongue.

Happy cleansing

-Craig

I'm too chicken to do the swf while working, it has had disasterous effects in the past. I just did the senna tea, and will do the swf tomorrow. since I don't have any meetings planned and have a bathroom in my office. Too funny! So day 1. Not too bad yet, at 9:09 am. haha I brought lemonade with me, but probably won't get into it for another couple of hours. I psyched myself up by making "deals" with God. Not real smart I guess, but it will get me through the first four days.

Starting on Thursday. Have read the books and I am psyched! Bought all the stuff at Whole Foods yesterday -- everybody recognized that I was doing "the cleanse"! I can't imagine the SWF being so bad -- I've always loved salt! Guess I'll find out:o!

Today will be my first day. I took smooth move tea very late last night. I came to this website for support because I don't want to do alone. Hope I can make it. Wish me luck :D

I am starting tomorrow with the lemonade. I did a 3 day ease in with fruits and veggies on day 1, broth and juice on day 2 and today, day 3, is orange juice only. I'm planning on doing 10 days. This is my 2nd cleanse. Last year, I did it for 7 days on my first time and was pretty proud of myself. I'm doing this with the facebook spring cleanse group as well and that has been a very helpful support group for me so far.

Hi,

I think I posted something before but don't see it. Anyway, first timer and about to start tomorrow 4/18/09. I'm a little nervous about the Cayenne powder since I am allergic to spices but hopefully I won't end up in the ER. As far as headaches, I expect those since I will be detoxing from sugar. I never drank coffee or soda but I get massive headaches when I don't eat; so i'm staying home just in case I need to pass out or something like that.
I'll keep U posted.
Thanks

Well, today (May 3rd, 2009) was my first day. Did the Smooth Move tea, SWF, & 2 Lemonade drinks so far. No real symptoms yet, although seeing other family members eat makes me want to chew on something!

I have been a raw foodist/vegan for around 10 years, so I am curious to see the results of this cleanse. When I first went raw, I didn't know enough to flush my system, so I suffered many detox symptoms, for several months.

Doing a lot of juicing was a big help for me. In the past I once did a 21 day juice fast, so this should be a walk in the park for me! Especially since I like "hot" foods! :D

This is my 1st day of my 1st MC. I didn't mind the tea at all, but the swf is awful to get down. The lemonade is ok. I'm not really hungry but i do have somewhat of a headache. I'm determined to make it ten days, but I think they're going to be long ones.

I am on the verge of beginning my first day. Am a lil afraid as I have a bit of a oral fixation. For work I drive all day and generally go through a pack of gum. I think I can handle the urge for food but worried about my inherent need to chew especially during work hours. Anyone else have this issue? Got any ideas to cope. I keep looking thru the books and trying to find some answer. Is the main reason I have been putting off starting for a few weeks now.

End of day one. I thought the evening was going to be tough, but then I got an unexpected visit from a friend who needed a place to stay and that made the time go by.
Only nine more to go.

I'm about to start my 2nd cleanse, and this time my boyfriend is doing it with me. I'm wondering what's the importance of "easing-in" I haven't seen much about it on this forum, but I did it on my first cleanse and it went ok. Is it important, and if so what are the steps again, it's been awhile since my first cleanse.

Thanks!

First, cut out caffeine (coffee etc) for a few days at least to avoid headaches. Then go to fruit and veg only for at least a day or two before. Some folks even do fruit and veg for a week before and then juice the day before you start. I did not do that but did do 2 days of eating light and focusing just on fruit and veg the day before. I lost 10 lbs in 11 days. I felt great and highly energized. My problem is I did not taper out correctly. Ideally I think you are suppose to taper out pretty much in the reverse of how you go in. So that would be juice, then juice and veg broth, then raw fruit and veg etc...
Good Luck!:)

Hubby and I are starting it today as well, he did it successfully a few years ago and lost 18 lbs, claimed he felt the best he had felt in a long time. More energy, heightened sense of smell, more alert etc.

So far today has been ok, a few fleeting cravings and I had to go to the grocery store to get spring water and BOY OH BOY, hope I dont have to go back anytime soon.

My hunger pangs last only a few minutes and seem to quickly go away after a few swigs of LA.

What's the most drinks you are supposed to consume in a day? is there a max?

Ursa

12 glasses is the max. Today I started my 5th cleanse. I guess we can be cleanse buddies on the "what day are you" sticky thread. :)

Just finished Day 2. I am doing everything by the book, except only Grade A Maple Syrup was available. Why is Grade B syrup recommended above Grade A

Good Morning,
I am starting my second cleanse today. Last year I did it and lost 48lbs. I stayed on it for like a month and a half. I remember that I felt really good overall. I did have a few headaches and stomach aches. My doctor said she had never seen anyone with such good cholesterol. After I did the cleanse, I used my juicer to juice green. Meanining spinach and various fruits. They tasted good. The book was called green for life. I tried last week but it was super hard. Much harder than last time. I have started again today. I came back here to gather up all the support I could muster. Drinking all that salt water was a challenge this a.m. to say the least. Hope to talk to you all later:o

Hello all. I am about to start my first cleanse. I am doing the senna tea tonight and starting with a SWF in the morning. I have a friend doing it too for moral support (he is on his 2nd day - got a head start on me). Wish us luck! I'll be on the boards for support I'm sure. The most I've done in the past was a 5 day water fast and that seemed to go well.

Hi Jon,
I just started my first cleanse today, it wasn't too bad. Good luck! I'll be checking in for support as well. Not looking forward to another SWF in the AM, but I guess I'll manage. I have the Smooth Move tea, I also bought the Get Regular by Yogi to try as well.

I just finished my first lemonade and had my SWF this morning.

Tips for the SWF: Warming up the water first helps a TON, so does drinking it with a straw. I decided to start gulping from the glass to make things quicker and those 2 gulps came right back up.

I myself have been on the SAD most of my life (though eating healthier in the last year or two). I had no problems with the SWF getting things going, in 2 hours I hit the head probably 5 times.

Anyways, it's nice to have support. I look forward to seeing how this goes!

Well I started last night. I have having trouble figuring out the schedule. I work different hours during the week. Today I go to work at 2am other days 2pm and 6am. Finding the best time to have the tea is the hard part. I never sleep for more than 4 hours at one time. Any Ideas?

dutchmafia, what about having the tea before you go to sleep regardless of what time you go to sleep since it takes about 6 to 8 hours to work? Good luck!!
