I'm not sure I can give up my morning coffee, can I still have one cup in the morning or does it really effect the diet???

The thing is, you're detoxing and caffeine is one of the things to go. Â*I suppose cleansing with coffee is better than not cleansing at all. I started my very first cleanse with the notion that I would keep drinking coffee. By Day 4 I stopped. So give it a try and keep us posted. Â*:)

Yeah, you can keep drinking coffee or whatever you want on your fast/cleanse. Just don't call it the Master Cleanse! If you are going to do the Master Cleanse, then do the Master Cleanse! Very simple. You can make up any kind of fast, cleanse, or diet you want. Do you want to do The Master Cleanse? You might want to rethink that question. Both books are very helpful, very clear, very simple. Burroughs gives some leeway, for example, six to twelve glasses of the Lemon Drink, cayene pepper 1/10th or "to taste" and you can substitute the maple syrup with pure cane juice (if you can get it) or sorghum, which he says is not as good. The MasterCleanse does not allow for coffee at all. So if you use coffee, which you are certainly free to do, you are not doing the MasterCleanse. Even if you combine some elements of the MasterCleanse with your coffee. So if you continue to use coffee, you might have some good experiences, just give your fast, diet, a new name, because it's not the MasterCleanse. Good luck with your experiments, but be careful.

have to agree with RES on this one... I used to drink a lot of coffee... started my first cleanse drinking just one cup in the AM....
Stopped on the third day and so did the massive headaches...
Don't drink it any longer on or off the cleanse No milk anymore either, and I used to LOVE milk.

Joan, - You can use the Master Cleanse as a tool to help kick the caffine habit.
I've done it - It works.
When your done with the cleanse its easy to stay away from it.
The cleanse cleans out the stuff thats keeping you addicted to it
Caffine is a little like cigarettes, - you have to get some of the toxins into your system before your body is addicted, or seems to not be able to do without.
With cigarettes it takes only a few, of course with coffee it takes a little more.
Sounds like you may already have enough if you enjoy that morning cup. Its the feeding of the addiction that makes it so enjoyable to drink.
After a Master Cleanse it wouldn't be so enjoyable, because a good hunk of the toxins would have been cleaned out.
Its not the easiest thing to dive into, but all there is to it, is to just decide to do it and then do it, and don't change your mind mid stream, just continue to put one foot in front of the other and before you know it you will be on the other side.

That's great that you are breaking those addictions. Just don't count the days that you are still "using" as days on the mastercleanse. It is not themastercleanse if you are still using coffee. Even for one day. Call it the coffeemistresscleanse until you actually start themastercleanse which requires no coffee.

Congratulations Coolest..that decision is a very big step. I drink coffee only during the months of November and December ( mainly for holiday fun). Last January when I was preparing for a 30 day cleanse, I first dropped the coffee. I was told about a homeopathic remedy called Caffeine Detox, put out by a company called Nature's Sunshine which I obtained in a herbal store in Ocala, Florida. You place a few drops under the tongue several times a day and go about your regular diet. It only took a couple of days and I was ready to start the cleanse. Enjoy your journey.
