View Full Version : Any Runners out there?

Hi. I am starting the fast tomorrow and am a little concerned because I am a runner. I am training for a marathon in April. I was just wondering if any of you out there have done a fast either while in training or on a steady running program. Can you still run? What was your mileage like during the fast? Did your running improve after the cleanse? Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I just posted this topic! I'm sorry I didn't see your post before I did so and I feel like an idiot. Are you running the Boston Marathon or the Big Sur International?
I'm running the Inaugural Colfax Marathon in Denver in late May.
Are you on the cleanse now? How long have you been able to run on the cleanse? I haven't tried any long runs yet--but I have only done the cleanse once and that was last month for 10 days.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hey all,
I have been running throughout my cleanse--Just finished Day 11. Â*My 7-8 mile runs were no problem, and, in fact, I felt I was running stronger and lighter on my feet. Â*Today, though, I pushed it and ran 11 miles...got home and started drinking the lemonades. Â*But, before I could get enough in me, I started getting lightheaded spells. Â*Took several lemonades to ease that up.
I usually down at least 20 ounces of lemonade just before I go out to run, and that seems to hold me over...although, today, I could have used more.
Good luck!
Chris

Thanks for the information on this.
I am going to start MC #2 on Sunday March 12th and go longer than 10 days this time. I am going to keep running. I am training for marathon #2 and it is on May 20th or 21st (better check that date!). I do the "Galloway" method of running with walk breaks and that seems to work well for me.
I'd love to hear more from others who exercise!
