I realize that you are not supposed to take any sort of medication on the MC...however, I cannot stop taking adderall (I am ADD and need it, no questions asked) and would prefer to not stop taking birth control. I know your responses will all be along the lines of "do not take either" while on the MC, but my question is...will taking these medications actually interfere with the MC? I'm thinking my benefits will not be as great, but it will still work. Comments?

Hi Brooke!

I take thyroid medication as I lost my own thyroid gland to Graves Disease many years ago. I take my medication as usual during the cleanse.

I think there are huge benefits to be derived from your Master Cleanse even if you need to continue your meds.

I'm no expert, by the way. I am on Day 3 of my second every MC. My first was in January and it went 29 days.

Having said that, I still believe there is a great benefit in cleansing your colon alone, which is one of the things the MC is known for. Of course, the immense benefits of the kidney, liver and lymph systems being cleansed as well is highly desired, for both of us I am sure! And the possibility exists that even while continuing some medication there will be some benefit there as well. :)

Point is, Peter says there will be some of us who will need to continue medications while cleansing, and not to feel bad about doing that. It would be "best" not to have to do that, but if you are on meds that you really need, continue. I can't stop my thyroid pills. So I continue. I don't think about it much. I can see and feel results of cleansing and detox each day, so I think there is still great benefit for us.

Just do what you need to do and don't worry about the results. This is the magic of the MC! You are right where you need to be and your cleanse is unique to your own personal situation! Each cleanse is different, as is each individual. But more important, each cleanse is different, even for the same individual! Fabulous!

Best of luck to you, Brooke........ ~ Dreams ~
