Hi all! I'm on day 1 of my 2nd Master Cleanse. I did one for 8 days last summer, just couldn't quite make it to 10. I really, really want to go 14 this time, but, being day 1 and I already ate some food today...doesn't look like I'm off to a great start. Its so hard to fix lunch for the kids and not eat!!! Just looking for some mc friendship and support thru the next few weeks. Any takers????

I am considering trying this cleanse. I have heard many different points of view and thought I might get the book and read it. I recently started taking BP medication ugh! I do not want to be on this forever. I need to lose weight and have tried every diet there is, it seems. This one seems difficult but worthy.
I recently have been recovering from a back injury and went to a massage therapist. Everything was sore. I must have so much trauma and toxins in my body. I want to rid of them for good.
My hubby will totally frown on this idea. He think it is "mumbo-jumbo-voodoo stuff". So, I know he will be supportive, but will also want me to cook pizza, chili dogs, and other so -bad- for- you kinds of food.
So, if you have any words of wisdom to share or thoughts, bring them on. I will be reading this book and possibly starting this week.
Good luck with venture 2! You can do it!

Hi Uncle Tonny, welcome to the Master Cleanse and this board! :)
I do have two suggestions for you. First, buy and read 12 Steps to Raw Foods by Victoria Boutenko. She has the most wonderful chapter on how to deal with family members and others who are not supportive. I know the strategy works because my wife used it on me! :O I'm not suggesting that you go on a diet of only raw foods, but the idea applies very much.
Second, buy and read my book, Lose Weight, Have More Energy & Be Happier in 10 Days. The experiences of the pople as they go through the Master Cleanse, their benefits and the knowledge of what to expect will give you the certainty to do well on it.
Both of these books are available at the www.TheMasterCleanse.com Web Store at (https://123webmagic.com/themastercleanse/catalog/).
Best Wishes,

Hi LJCoolJ, :)
I'm sure you'll find people on this BB to give you support. This is a very giving group of people.
However, I don't believe the MC is about willpower, it's about knowledge. If you get the book and read it, you'll know what to expect and how to handle it. (https://123webmagic.com/themastercleanse/catalog/)
Since the worst days are 2, 3 and 7, most people quit on those days. I'm guessing in your case it was day 8 instead of 7. (The days can be off by one.) They don't know that the other days are MUCH easier. So, they think, "If it's this bad, I can't do 10 days."
Also, people don't know that one of the detox symptoms is feeling bored, wanting to chew something, wanting to quit. Just like any other detox symptom on the Master Cleanse, it goes away with the next morning's eliminations! ;)
I hope this helps,

hey ljcoolj -
I can relate to what you said about -
>Its so hard to fix lunch for the kids and not eat!!!
I have 3 kids, and I have done the cleanse several times.
In the begining I would find when they came home from
school, when they were hungry, was the hardest.
I would normally have my kids eating dinner about 3:00,
this way they were hungry, they ate early, and it
elimanated any snacking.
So with being on the lemonade cleanse, I made sure
I drank alot of lemonade before I even started fixing the
food. This helps alot because you will
fill up on lemonade, and it will take your cravings away.
Since I am also in charge of the grocery shopping, and
the menu, :) I would fix things that the kids liked, but I
wasn't so fond of. THis would make it easy not to
want it.
One of my daughters wanted to do the cleanse with me.
I told her that she needed to read the book first to
fully understand it.
She read the book, she did the cleanse, while she
was on a break from school, and to this
day she has remained a vegetarian, and will not
eat meat.... Good for her!
As far as your family, you can tell them what you are
doing only if they are going to support you.
If they are not going to support you, don't tell them,
just do your thing, and they will not know. THis way
they won't tease you, or tempt you, or make it
harder than it is.
If you eat something, just keep going on the cleanse.
Eating food does make it harder on your self, but it
doesn't mean you have to sabatoge the entire cleanse.
Just keep going.
Keep a positive mental picture in your mind, of how
you want to be after the cleanse.
Remember, the cleanse is only 10 days, sometimes longer.
But its not just 10 days, its a life style change
that you are commiting to.
It's small consistent changes that will make a positive
difference in your life.
It is easy to do, and it is just as easy not to do.
It is a choice.
And remember to exercise. Even if its walking around
the block, exercise is important.
Hope this helps. :)

Thank you everyone! I gave up on the cleanse over the weekend...and my mistake...didn't check in here either. I'm going to start day 1 tomorrow and go from there. I have read the book. I know I can do this, I've made it 8 days before...I just need to push thru the first couple of days and I think I'll be fine. I'll be on here everyday from now on!!!!

Those BLTs (bite licks and tastes) are killer huh! I know I can pack in several hundred cals aday just on BLTs when fixing food for my kids. Fortunately my babies are 20-18 and I told the two of them...for ten days they are on their own. I am also buying my own fridge to keep away from the junk they so love. My plan is complete vegan after the cleanse. I just started today....lets support each other!

Windowashgirl...I'll be your buddy!! I plan on going vegan afterwards also. I use to be, about 30 lbs ago too!! I'd like to go mostly raw too but I don't know that I'd be able to go 100% raw....but I can definitely do vegan. Keep me posted, what day of the cleanse are you on?

Ok, so I'm into day 1 and I must check in here everyday for support or else I'll crumble. I'm having a lot of sinus congestion from allergies at the moment and am hoping this cleanse will kick it right out of my body. Anyone else having allergy problems?
