View Full Version : Day 6 - What am I doing wrong?
April 4th, 2006, 12:41 PM
This is my first MC and I am on day 6. The good news is I've lost all desire for nicotene (have been smoking or wearing a patch off and on for nearly 3 years). My skin looks better too. However, I am 50 pounds overweight (at 5'9", I carry it rather well) but I have only lost 2.5 pounds in the past 6 days. Also, only watery eliminations and only in the morning after the salt water. I've followed the MC 100% as written so I don't understand why I haven't had similar results as far as weight loss and eliminations as everyone else. I'm a bit discouraged and thinking there is something wrong with me that is preventing this from working properly. Any ideas?

I am only on day one...but this I do know from my past weight loss experiences...some days you seem not to lose then bam in one night you lose lots....I calculated the calories for the day...and your just under 400 cals aday you will be losing that weight.
edited to add that is for
3 lemons (I set my lemons in warm water and then roll them on the counter with pressure from my hand to get the most juice out of them and I am getting about 6-8 tbs per lemon
6 tbs of syrup

Have you been responding to the senna tea? Do you wake up needing to use the bathroom in the morning before the salt water?
How many glasses of lemonade have you been averaging? Water in addition to that?
I did not have eliminations throughout the day either, but I alway had them in the am from the tea and from the swf.
It sounds to me like you are not mobilizing as many toxins to eliminate. Forgive the TMI, but everything that is eliminated in the am up until it turns to water are the toxins.
My best suggestion would be to try and drink the maximum of 12 glasses of lemonade and see if you notice a difference.
Have you had any detox symptoms or discomfort?
DON'T BE DISCOURAGED. EVERYONE'S BODY IS DIFFERENT. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF FIGURING YOURSELF OUT, AND PRETTY SOON IT WILL CLICK. :)

I have only been drinking 6 glasses of lemonade each day. Also, I haven't had too much discomfort except for extreme fatigue on days 2 and especially 3. I felt I avoided the headaches because I only drink one cup of coffee on weekends. I do eliminate in the AM but it's just watery & mostly after the salt water flush. It's not as much as I expected. I'm starting to have wild fantasies about food but I guess that's normal. It's not due to hunger. I have read where people lose incredible weight and have massive eliminations so I must be missing something. I will try to drink more lemonade and see if that helps.
I have to take my dad in very early for surgery tomorrow and will not be able to do the salt water flush or tea. Is it OK to skip one day?
Thanks for the responses!!!!

Not everyone has incredible weight loss and massive eliminations. Sometimes it depends on how toxic you are to begin with. It can also depend on if you're a meat-eater or not - in that case it may take more than one cleanse.
The fatigue you had sounds like a detox sign. You need to increase your lemonade - it should be 6-12 per day. Your metabolism may slow down if you're not giving it enough nutrients. Also, plenty of water throughout the day.
The watery BMs after the flush are normal and the flush usually gets everything out so that you don't have to go again later in the day.
Can you do the flush after you drop your father off? If you're going to be waiting for him you can bring the SWF with you and drink it after you check him in. There are plenty of restrooms at the surgery center! If you massage your abdomen vigorously after drinking the flush, you'll speed up the process.
Also, if you can increase the amount of Cayenne you can speed up the detox!
I am on Day 3 of breaking the fast after spending 10 days on the cleanse. When I got to day 10 I'd lost 6 pounds, but since I've broken the fast I've lost 3 more pounds and I'm drinking OJ and eating vegetable soup! I didn't expect that!
Keep going as long as you can, but at least 10 days for sure. If you've done a lot of dieting in the past your body may be somewhat resistant to let go of the weight. I'll bet you'll lose more if you drink more lemonade! You can also cut the maple syrup down to 1.5 tablespoons if you want to.
Good luck - it sounds like you're doing great - getting off of the nicotine is a wonderful accomplishment in and of itself!!! 8)

Unfortunately, I am breaking the fast today (would have been day 7 of fast). I feel like I achieved success by allowing the fast to detox the nicotene cravings so that's huge! This was my first attempt at fasting and I never dreamed I could make it this far. I will start again in a few weeks and go all the way to 10. It should be easier now that I know more about what I'm doing.
After 6 days of fasting, is it necessary to take the full 3 days to break the fast? I'm drinking OJ today but can't wait to eat something (though I was never "starving" on the fast). It really is miraculous!
Yellowgirl, What GREAT advice you gave! Thanks so much! You've really helped me with some great ideas for my next fast! I'm sure it will make all the difference.
Best of luck!
