I'm 33 and this is my first fast. I've made it through day 3 and feel amazing. I don't think I've had this much energy since I was 18!
I'm concerned about losing muscle mass. Will I lose a lot on MC? Can I do weight training to prevent this?

Done correctly you shouldn't lose muscle mass.
Just make sure you get enough minerals by not using distilled water.
I made that mistake once.

Wow, how cool is that! Thanks for the info.
One more question, might be a little silly...
do you think it would be safe to swim during this detox? I was thinking about the chemicals in the pool and wasn't sure.

Losing muscle mass has always been one of my concerns while doing the cleanse. I race in triathlons and I don't want to lose everything I have built. I have always felt fine and I love the light feeling while doing the cleanse.
As for swimming, I love swimming the most while on the cleanse. In the middle of the cleanse when you are feeling the lightest and the clearest it is a great feeling to be just skimming through the water. I am not sure about chlorine, but with the amount of congestion I clear out of my nose, it seems like swimming is helpful.
Also, how can you go wrong if you're drinking the "Gatorade" after every set.

I've also heard that a fast that uses a similar lemonade drink being referred to as a 'boxer's fast'
I've actually done more exercise while on the fast. even spent a day snowboarding.

Yesterday was my day 3 and I ran and weightlifted. Every time I started to feel like I was losing my energy, I just took a sip of the lemonade and was ready to go.
I actually feel like I lean up when I'm on the cleanse. This is my third cleanse this year and I'm excited to feel and see the benefits again.
If you're worried about not having enough energy but want to exercise, try something like yoga or break up your workout into two times during the day to reduce fatigue. Just a suggestion.
