Well - here I am end of day 12. I decided to keep it up and didn't quite back on 10 when I thought about it. But I am going to have to give it up at the end of tomorrow due to work commitments. I miscaculated the days and left out the transition period so will end two days short of my goal. But that is ok - I will make 13 days and I am down 13 lbs!:D I will go to the store tomorrow night and get my orange juice and I may try grape fruite juce this time as well.

I read how amazing day 15 is and I swear I will get there next time. I plan to do another cleanse mid-year this time - probably May-June time frame.

Thanks all of you for sharing your thoughts and experiances - every time I logged on I found something to inspire me!

MC 3/Day 40 :)

Oh my goodness, you all are so supportive and said some kind words to me on here today!! I just feel so blessed to be part of this support group. I'm almost sad to have say goodbye soon :(. But all good things must come to an end eventually, and unfortunately...which makes it even better, because the memories will be sweeter (sweeter than maple syrup, that is) ;)

Today was the best day I had on this cleanse. The sense of accomplishment I experienced gave me so much hope and motivation for the near future and personal goals I have set. I highly encourage you all to stick it out and don't give into temptation. You will thank yourself for it, and so will your body, ESPECIALLY YOUR BODY! :) I had mentioned that i wanted to go just slighty longer, maybe a few more days, because of some detox symptoms I had the other day. But I had to think about some things. Such as: my tounge has been clear for a few weeks now, my body weight is pretty low (down to120 lbs from 148  :D), my skin glows and looks so peachy, I sleep well, my bm is not solid (there is still bm, but mainly booty pee pee ), I love everyone, everyone loves me back :D, no food cravings (not even when I look at raw food book :confused:). Eventhough I had thought I could still have some toxins left, I could be wrong. But, the main reason why I changed my mind and decided to stick to my original date as planned, is because I began this journey for spiritual reasons, not for weight loss or detox. I've reached my fast based on the Bible, which is 40 days and therefore, if I choose to take it beyond, it will loose it's purpose. One of the main purposes for my spiritual fast was to learn to listen, follow directions, and be obedient to The Lord. And tonight I felt that I was falling into my pre-fast ways by wanting to push my fast beyond the neccessary 40 days. So, I am not going to defeat the purpose and continue just simply because I know that I can go longer, (I am always challenging myself beyond my capacity, I need to slow down, and stop being an over achiever) THIS IS WHAT HE IS TRYING TO TEACH ME, and the ME needs to listen :D LOL!! :(. If I still have toxins, I'm sure I will address them with the 30 Day Raw Challenge I'm planning on doing next :)....wait, there I go again!!!!!:eek: I just realized the word "challenge" in that last sentence AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, too funny, I just had an epiphany at the end of day 40 hahahahahahaha!! WOWZERZ!! too good to be true!! :):):)

Therefore dear Lemonfaces, as you can see, as much as I'd like to continue,I am choosing to listen to The Man above and cut it short on day 40.

You have all been my inspiration and I was feeding off of your beautiful journeys. So there, I said it, I made it to day 40 because I was eating your words :D:D:D:D (this is another secret of mine to making it far) :p

Ketones in morning urine....

I haven't been drinking water, just a couple glasses of lemonade a day because it's all I can get down. I noticed earlier my urine smelled gross like the artificial butter on an empty bag of microwaved popcorn. LOL Seriously what it reminded me of. Ever smell the inside of a popcorn bag after it's been sitting around for a few hours? Yuck. So for my next pee-trip I decided to use a ketone stick for the hell of it and it had traces of ketones in it. Why would that happen? My last glass of lemonade was before the gym over 8 hours ago.. I guess I burned up all the sugar then and now using fat as energy?

Day 11 (yesterday)

I added day 11 to my You Tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZK_9wfN4jDA).

Day 11 sucked.
I was cold.
I craved like a million things.

I'm on day 12 now, I'm going to 15. 3 more days!

I feel WOONNDDDEERFFFUUUULLL.

Yesterday I felt so awful. Nauseated. Light-headed. Tummy aches. Ick. But, I made it through the day, called in sick to my night job, and went to bed at 8:30. I woke up this morning and I feel so so good! Lots of energy, no icky detox symptoms. Just all full of happy!

Now, granted, this could partially be due to the fact that because of exams, today is only a half day and I will be tasting the sweetness of freedom by 12:30 this afternoon...

I'm down 6 pounds, which is also pretty rad.

Happy lemonade all!

Day 5, feeling great, full of energy, down 7lbs, furry tongue, VERY thirsty all the time though. I drink a ton of water, but still feel thirsty. Hunger goes away as soon as I sip my lemonade. I'm going for 10 days. I love reading everyone's take on the cleanse. This is a great place!

Beginning of day 14 for me. I'm so happy I made it to my goal. :D:D:D I am down 12lbs. I am definitely going to continue through tomorrow, and then I will see from there. I am going to go out tomorrow and get all the things I need for the transition and either start transitioning Sat or Mon. I can't wait for a salad!

MC 2 Day 4
Congratulations to all the 10 day finishers!!!!!! You Rock!!!!!! :) This board is going to be a lonely place without all of you! Congratulations on your accomplishments! :D
I was up all night with a major headache. I still have it. I'm hoping the SWF gets rid of it!!! Very tired and very cold today...although I think the temp is around 0 and windchills are way below that...tonight is supposed to be -7 with windchills of -30 to -35....fun, fun...so that may be contributing to the cold chills!! All I really want to be doing is wrapped up in a blanket, watching tv, and drinking HOT CHOCOLATE all day!!! :o My tongue is super white and gross. Not sure why I'm having such a bad headache. Before last cleanse all I drank was pepsi non-stop, had terrible migranes with last cleanse, finished cleanse and stopped drinking pop (and also chewing gum!!), I don't drink coffee, but I do drink hot chocolate when I'm cold so maybe it's the hot chocolate that caused headaches this time.....

Hiya ... hang in there. Day 1 evening and Day 2 morning sucked for me. I really felt crappy (literally and figuratively!) but I'm on Day 4 now and feel good. My body continues to work to heal itself all the while thanking me for doing this. I feel very much at peace.

BTW, you will find many graphic descriptions of "eliminating" on here so fret not about what you said. It gets pretty descriptive! I can't think of any term more appropriate than "butt pee". LOL ;)

good morning everyone,

i am on my day 6! i feel good. :):)
i get hungry quickly :(:((not craving)… so I increase the amount of lemonade intake. :p:p
still swf is not something i am looking forward to waking up for:mad::mad:… but I noticed that it is not the salt water at this point; it is the amount of water that i have to take at once!! about a half way through I feel FULL and I am forcing myself to drink the rest.. that is the hardest part for me.
I had a small elimination this morning and I can feel that gradually but surely my body is detoxing!!!
have a great day everyone!!:D

Hello all! It's good to be on here. I'm so thankful for this forum!!!

That being said- HELP!!! I just need some support today I guess. This is my 6th cleanse. I'm on Day 11. I was going to do a 10 but my husband joined me on my day 9 and encouraged me to continue. Here are some of the particulars. After my 4th cleanse, I went 90% raw so that's a 1.5 years raw up to Sept. '08. (My family ate very healthy growing up and then when I was 16 I went vegetarian then after the 4th cleanse raw just for a dietary background. I'm 31 now).
I went through an extremely stressful time buying a house etc. and my eating habits went down the drain. I started eating like I've NEVER eaten before= McDonald's, cheese again, fast food, cooked food, chips, dairy all of it. YUCK. I ate that way, progressively getting worse from Sept-early Jan. Then I started the cleanse on Jan 5.

I was going to do a 10 day but
1. Have only lost 3 lbs in 10 days :eek:
2. was doing the cleanse the week before I was to start my period (sorry fellas is squeemish about that! :))
3. started my period today (day 11) and I've been STARVING this entire cleanse. I'm NEVER hungry on the cleanse!!
OH I forgot to mention that I gained 23 pounds!!! in this time frame (Sept '08-Dec'08). I was 127 consistently on raw and have jumped to 150 (well minus the 3 I've "lost" on the cleanse).

I know that my body is in shock and all that processed crud and fat is just sticking to me. I guess I just need some encouragement and possibly some help understanding why I'm not losing anything. I've read Peter's book backward and forward and am doing the MC perfectly: drinking lots of water, doing the SWF every AM, tea PM, and drinking 8 or so 10 oz. servings of lemonade daily. I'm really struggling with continuing and feel awful today (I don't usually feel bad during my "time").

HELP!! and thanks for reading and answering in advance!

Ketones are a natural waste product of metabolizing fat. They are eliminated in the urine. I would say everyone on the MC is urinating ketones because 6-12 glasses of lemonade is not enough calories to maintain required energy needs and the body burns stored fat. Normally one should drink sufficient liquid to make the urine clear. Since you are only getting two glasses/day you are WAY under the requirements and like everyone else you're burning stored fat. With only two lemonades you are also extremely dehydrating the system which makes your urine smell strong. Your blood volume will be low as the blood is thick and will struggle to flow through the system. It will be harder for the blood to pick up waste carbon dioxide from the cells and exchange it for oxygen in the lungs. The % of oxygen in the blood will decrease. All cells will struggle for oxygen.... the nervous system although tops in priority will slow in function. Your blood will be saturated with toxins and will struggle to remove them or provide the necessary water for normal cell function. At only two glasses of liquid/day you soon will find normal body function and cognitive functions becoming difficult. You need to seek ways to get more water into the circulatory system or you will need to quit the fast. You might be better off quitting the fast for now and coming back once the canker sores are healed. Maybe if you start right at the beginning by drinking the LA with a straw and washing your mouth out with water after each LA you won't have so much trouble with the sores. Or experiment with different types of lemons. The bottom line is that limiting yourself to only two glasses of liquid/day is NOT good for your health.

Hello all..
I am on my 2nd day of my 1st cleanse--the 1st day was torture, just the craving to want to be chewing on something. I am starting to feel better although I woke up with a headache :(

I am on the second day of this cleanse and I am in alot of pain. I had a severe headache :(all night and had to keep ice packs on my head all night. In the middle of the night I started having pains shoot through the lower back, thighs and legs. It is not letting up. I may have to quit this cleanse. It feels like I have a bad case of the flu and I was fine before starting this cleanse yesterday morning. I drank 7-8 of the drinks yesterday plus mint tea and water. I have been drinking the smooth move tea before bed and doing the salt wtaer flush. I need to be able to get some work done and the lower body pain and the headache is making me useless.

Should I go back to a raw food.juice regime for a while and then try the cleanse again later?

UPdate:
I tried soaking in epsom salts and it has not helped. I just have an aching in my lower body that will not quit...I would appreciate any advise on this. I am doing all the requirements and this is the 2nd time I have done this cleanse. I did it last year as well. I did have a slight headache the first time but I do not recall all the joints and aching in the back, legs, and thighs. I am not looking for a reason to quit but I have to be able to function and sleep. The aching from the waist down is really hard to handle. It is constant. I tried to go about my business and ignore it but no matter if I am resting or moving it is painful.

Anyone else suffering this??
Thanks

GAM

I have the same question as many other people posting. When do you know it is the right time to quit the cleanse? My husband and i could certainly loose 20 pounds and that is part of the reason I would like to extend the cleanse from 21 days to 40 days. I could continue to loose weight after the cleanse by eating the raw food diet or limiting calories....but, if I could stay on the diet another 40 days maybe it could benefit us two-fold. How do you know when you have reached the maximum benefit of the cleanse?

Day 15: I've moved into the "Bizarre Dreams Syndrome". Apparently I have a thing for James McAvoy....also the food was great even though I did freak out about eating and then felt like crap afterwards....this - even in a dream!

The Celtic fighting was frightening although I love the era. Other Insane-ish things occurred but I still got a great nights sleep. Probably hit the bathroom about 8 times through the night. I UPPED MY CAYENNE yesterday. I wonder if that's the culprit, in part.

WEIRD WEIRD WEIRD

Other than that its A OK! :D

*SMOOCHES to you all! I have to catch up on all your posts! Sounds like everyone is doing GREAT!!

I'm sure your bloated from your period, I always gain a few pounds during that time of water weight. I'm on day 11 and have only lost 6 pounds but I haven't been exercising at all. If you figure it takes 3500 calories to lose a pound of fat (I'm pretty sure) and your taking in 650 a day instead of say 2000 a day, the math says it would take about 2 and a half days to lose 1 pound. Factor in the water weight and I think your right on track. I'm sure once you get back to your old way of eating, it will come right off. Hang in there!

I just have a hard time listening to people who havent been where I am..... Ok thanks for allowing me to vent that. Today all my eliminations smell lemony fresh weird I know. DAY NINE!!! WOO-HOO:D
feeling good, cold tho. but the temp did drop significantly overnight (i dont care what the northerners say 56 is COLD to this lady). the warm lemonade helps!
muzic- i like to double up my drinks too, makes them seem more filling. and the first few days i was just using tepid water but i find that heating it up a little really makes a big difference.
i have been feeling hungry late at night the past few night, but i didnt want to have another lemonade b/c i was afraid of not being able to fall asleep...
craving kale, random:confused:
going for a massage today to reward myself and help release more toxins!!!
congrats to all the finishers!!! and good luck to all those just starting!!!
God bless you all
peace

I thought of quitting but I won't be able to get food or liquids down any easier. I'd have to eat something crappy like bread since I think that's the only thing that wouldn't sting. Even my teeth hurt. They're healing..just slowly. I woke up today feeling weak so I know I need to up something. I'm also using Agave which has no nutrients in it so that isn't helping. I'll get them in somehow. Just use more numbing products. I'm going to go buy L-Lysine. It's an animo acid that supposedly speeds up healing according to what I've read online. I doubt it'll ruin my fast too much. I've waited it out as much as possible and it's going to slow. I should go to the ER and get an IV.

Day 2 of the cleanse...2 hours after the swf and not much happening...

Day 1 Recap

Had 6 lemonades - I went for a long slow walk yesterday on the seawall and then did a dry brush and epsom salt detox bath and it was fantastic. http://www.wikihow.com/Take-a-Detox-Bath I've read about the feeling of well-being that comes from them and I felt so grounded and peaceful. Maybe it's the incense, candles and flamenco music that accompanied the bath? :) I let the salts dry on me as it continues the detox and didn't wash off until this morning.

Symptoms yesterday included mild nausea and headache, but the odd one was that I slept like the dead but with lucid dreams...I slept like you do when you're fighting off a flu and your body is working hard in the night to heal...I guess that's what's happening. My body is working on healing.

Sending encouragement to the others on day 2 like me! Let's stay in touch here :)

Hi all,

Day 4 here, just beginning. Steve are you here yet?!

Yesterday, I rearranged the garage and cooked up a storm! :)

I have the Licensure lady from the state coming out today to check out one of my rooms that I think should be a semi-private room because of the square footage and she isn't wanting to count the area walking into the room between the closet and doorway, which is big enough for a usable dresser, and since it's about time for the annual inspection, I'm really just getting ready for it should it happen. It would be nice to get it over with but if it happens it will take 2-4 hours! Day 4 has always been my toughest day (besides day 6) so...please send good vibes my way! If I get the inspection out of the way at least I can calm down a bit! Between this and the cleanse...I've already run off the new person that just started working for me on Friday.

I see others started on the 12th as well! This is great to have others on the exact same day...I think I'll always do a January cleanse with this board being as active as it is in Jan.! Good to see everyone is doing so great. Love to all! Kim

I am on the second day of this cleanse and I am in alot of pain. I had a severe headache :(all night and had to keep ice packs on my head all night. In the middle of the night I started having pains shoot through the lower back, thighs and legs. It is not letting up. I may have to quit this cleanse. It feels like I have a bad case of the flu . . . Anyone else suffering this??
Thanks

HANG IN THERE YAAKOVA

This is my 4th MC and my first 5 days were exactly what you are experiencing. It's day 12 for me now and I feel great. Your body is detoxing and once you get through this initial 5 day period you will feel so much better. My kidneys, lower back base of the skull everything hurt- joints etc.

:DYOU CAN DO IT!:D

MC4 Day 12

LIfe is good and I'm feeling fine! I chose to make the tea out of limes and raw organic agave today instead of lemons and maple syrup. It's a nice change. Enjoyed a deep tissue massage and chiropractic appt on day 10 which helped the detox along. Sat in the sauna yesterday and the hot tube last night. Staying hydrated and have a big training session tomorrow with my boxing coach.

Everyone keeps asking when to quit the MC. The best answer is when your body rells you. Are you still detoxing? Having BM's without the SWF? Is your tongue becomming clear? I do not think you should use the MC as a weight loss solution. It is a cleanse. When you are done the rest of the weight will shed through proper diet and exercise

Day 1-5  Poop your pants day  Day 6-8:o Day 9-10 :D Day 10ff :p

MC 1 DAY 9 - I had to stop today. I was having severe pain in my rib cage. I still am as I sit here and type. So I am onto OJ today. I lost about 10 lbs and 3 inches in my waist. I feel horrible right now and wonder what damage I did to my body to cause so much pain. On a scale of 1 - 10, I would put it at a constant 6 or 7. I am going to do the after you detox plan then if I don't feel better I am going to have to go to the doctor in a few days. Aggggh. It hurts.

Hey!

Day 11 for me! I am FREEZING. oh my gosh. But this happened to me last time too. I am not sure how long I plan to go, for sure 14 days but I would love to get the pink tongue, mine is still nasty as hell.
Last time I went 21 days and never got the pink tongue which bummed me out. No other symptoms for me really but I can't sleep. I am up really early. yesterday up at 3am and worked 14 hours, today I slept in till 5am (no, really because I normally get up at 4am to go running at 4:30am)
But at least I am being productive and am getting a lot done at work...

you guys are doing awesome and yes if you come off the cleanse and eat raw you will continue to lose weight!

OTIS: Checking Amazon.com for matthew kenney's recipe book. Which one do you suggest to start out with?

Hey!
My favorite is everyday raw, this one is great because the stuff is easier. Then he has the real food raw world which I love too, a bit fancier but if you like to take the time it is well worth it.
I have made the baked mac and cheese, chili and sourcream, portabello fajitas, portabello steak wth rosemary garlic mashed potatoes, chocolate pudding with coconut creme anglaise sauce and they are all so good it will blow your mind. Let me know if you need anything else!

Day 10! My special monthly friend showed up last night. GOOD TIMES. :D

Hey there Lynda/ThatOneGuy! :) I've been making an attempt at veganism for almost a year. My BF became one for ethical reasons and I had already been vegetarian for 2 years before that, so I thought, hey, I can try. The hardest thing for me isn't "giving up" all those foods I thought I'd miss (like cheese), it's having to read !@!#@!$ labels all the time, and going to restaurants. So I am not a very good vegan in that respect, I am sure I have consumed hidden byproducts.

Lynda - where I lapse is boredom snacking. I just eat a lot more than I burn off. 30,000 calories worth of broccoli is still 30,000 calories, you know? I also have a weakness for bread products.

RES! What's with our 86 degrees today?!! :D

Lemon power!

Hey!

Believe me, I understand the snacking! I used to snack in between meals all the time! When I did my first cleanse 9/08 it broke me of so many bad habits like snacking and chewing gum. Then I bought a book called the raw detox diet by natalia rose and I followed her plan and how she eats (except I don't do any meat or dairy at all, she does some goat cheese and some cooked fish). I found that following her plan (which is considered a level one in her book) really works for me. It keeps my weight where it needs to be, I am satisfied with my food and really enjoy it. I don't eat anything processed or packaged at all. I make my own ketchup, mayo, sour cream, salsa, milk, etc. And of course all of my meals and desserts. That way I know what I am eating. I am raw vegan for ethical and for health reasons too. Check out the book and see what you think. Thetoneguy has that book too!

Lynda: Does this have the dessert recipes you mentioned? ;)

Not the pumpkin cheesecake but you have that one now, the dark chocolate ganache torte with vanilla creme sauce is in his real people raw world (worth buying it JUST for that one) and the puddling I mention is in everyday raw. he calls it mocha pudding but I leave out the coffee because I don't like coffee and it is awesome. I have made it so many times with that anglaise sauce, it is my easy staple dessert nightly if I don't whip up something that is more time consuming.

So this is my first Master Cleanse and I had my doubts! By day 3 I was ready to give up, but now at day 8, I feel great. Since this is my first, I am not sure that I did things correctly even though I followed the instructions. This may be more than people want to know :D but I haven't had a solid BM yet and am not sure if this is good or bad. I haven't been able to do the flush because of the work I do it isn't feesable for me, but I have been drinking the tea twice a day. I plan on going until day 10, but not anymore than that. I will however do this again in the summer and want to make sure I am really receiving alll of the benefits!! Any suggestions??

PS-I even got my boss to start and she is on day 3 and feels wonderful!!

I am toying with the idea of going longer until my tongue gets pink. However, I am so darn excited to start uncooking and eating all these fruits and veggies that I cannot stop thinking about it. I am dying to try flax crackers. I bought a dehydrator today and have a blender and mini food processor. I'll try the easy stuff first. So I am thinking that tomorrow will be my last day (Day 19) and maybe start dehydrating on Saturday. Hmmm. I could keep going forever but this is good for my first cleanse and I am so ready to change how I eat, my mind is right and my body is ready. :) I'm going to go buy Everyday Raw tonight.

MC1 D18 - I decided to have tomorrow be my last day of cleansing. I bought a dehydrator today and I'm real excited to uncook. OMG you have no idea! LOL I've been a reading fool these past 3 weeks (have I really not chewed for that long). So here are the facts:

Day 1 - 185lbs
Day 18 - 168lbs.
Mind - Clear
Heart - Open
Outlook on Life - My glass is always have full!
Clothes - fit into old pants and can wear my cardigans to work without safety pinning in between the buttons shut.

This cleanse has been a blessing and an absolute turning point in my life. It's funny how they say everything happens for a reason and at the exact time it is meant to happen. Why couldn't I have found this cleanse any sooner? Eh, I'm just thankful I found it at all.

Happy cleansing!:D:D:D:D:D

I was going to do a 10 day but
1. Have only lost 3 lbs in 10 days
2. was doing the cleanse the week before I was to start my period (sorry fellas is squeemish about that! )
3. started my period today (day 11) and I've been STARVING this entire cleanse. I'm NEVER hungry on the cleanse!!
OH I forgot to mention that I gained 23 pounds!!! in this time frame (Sept '08-Dec'0.

I am on day 2 of my first cleanse. Today I had an episode in the bathroom which made me feel nauseous and pale and sweaty. I felt better about 30 minutes later and am fine now.

I think this is a normal reaction to detoxification and am not discouraged.

Although I live in Southwest FL, it is very cold here. I think I will have some herbal tea now.

Thanks for a great resource for support.

Hi guys! Day 4, my very first Master Cleanse...

I'm feeling pretty good. Gonna try working out today, cuz i've just been staying in the house and takin it easy...plus i looked at the scale, and it hasn't gone down very much. I weighed 142 when i started, the other day at the gym the scale was down to 138, and today my scale at home said like 144?? Eesh...i didn't like that at all. Haha...so i'm gonna go to the gym. Maybe regular exercise will help the scale come down a little. I'm not really overweight, but i'm bigger than i want to be. 125-130lbs would be a comfortable space for me. Poor eating habits after meeting someone pretty amazing kinda did me in...haha!
Then there's the super vivid dreams i've been having about friends that i've grown apart from, and food! I think i'm gonna be dealing with some emotional stuff with this cleanse, but that's ok too. I've been through alot of stress from relationships over the past couple of years (both intimate, and friendships) and just tried to "suck it up" and act like it was ok. I highly recommend reading The Secret, as it as helped me begin to gain a new and more postitive outlook and attitude about everything in my life. Its also helping me get through this cleanse because i'm constantly thinking about all of the good feelings i'm going to have when i'm done! Such a great feeling!
Congrats to everyone that has gotten to the end of their journey...i can't wait to join you!:D

MC 1 Day 14

Hi Everyone!! I'm still waiting for this mental clarity to kick in during m symptom free MC(beside the white tongue). My goal is 40 days. :D I even plan on passing up my 29th birthday Feb. 6 to allow my body to heal itself. I have upped the cayenne pepper to a hotter form since I have had no detox symptoms and still none (just the burning sensation as I drink it.) My tongue is still white also so that leads me to believe that I have way more healing and detoxing to go. I have reached the extra energy stage. :D I'm just anxious for this mental clarity. :confused:It seems like everyone on here has experienced it by this point. Is it me? Or do some people never reach that mental clarity?

I am on day 4 of MC#2. I am surprised because in some ways #1 was easier. I am experiencing some minor shooting pains, kinda like flu aches, throughout my upper body. Mostly in the evening and morning. Any one else experienced this? Assuming it is just detox symptoms but wondering what is causing them.
I'm going for 15-20 days this time :)

I thought about suggesting an IV too. It's not a bad idea. I'd start with 2. :) I have to disagree with your assessment, I thought of quitting but I won't be able to get food or liquids down any easier. Since you've determined it is the citrus that causes the canker sores, if you stop the lemonade, your sores will heal quicker and then you can down liquids and food. If the lemon juice is causing the sores, I don't see how it can get better while on the MC. I don't recall, but I think you have 9-10 days into the MC. You've gotten a decent cleanse. This is contrary to the normal encouragement on this board, but it seems best to quit now and come back another day to address the problems with your reaction to citrus.

Hello All!!

I'm just checkin' in. I cannot seem to get through all the posts and I want to read them all! Such great stuff out there and great to see everyone encouraging one another. I know I'm going to need it at some point, but so far I'm doing really well.

I'm on Day 6 of my 3rd MC. I've felt great, never hungry, able to do my regular exercise, etc. I have had mild headaches every night that continue in the mornings, but not too bad. For the first time I've had a little cramping during the night, presumably from the tea.

I have been having dreams of eating by mistake and then getting really bummed about it (in the dream). I even had a dream inside a dream last night where I told someone about having the dream about eating a cookie.

I lost 7 pounds in the first 5 days. I know I probably won't continue that pace, but it feels good! My clothes don't necessarily fit any more loosely yet, so I don't know exactly where it's all coming from.

I think my eyesight is better, my skin is clearing up, and my tongue is pretty yellow. I actually sit with my kids (teenagers) and watch them eat the meals I've prepared for them. Somehow watching them eat and imagining taking those bites makes me feel like I've eaten and I'm satisfied.

We have friends coming into town soon who will be camping down the street. Cocktails and snacks every night has been the tradition over many years. I'm going to just have to have my lemonade during the first two weeks of their visit - wow, that's gonna be tough!!! I just have to remember that really the enjoyment is having them here and hanging out with them.

I'm more than 1/4 way through (doing 20 days for the first time - yipes!). Hey Russ - are you out there? You must be at your 50% point now - right? How is it going?

It's going to be interesting when I get into "new territory" after 10 days. Can't wait! The end of January seems like a lifetime away, but I know that I'm fortunate enough to have food at my disposal after that. For that I"m very thankful and plan on enjoying every morsel, every taste, and try new raw recipes. I'm not one to go totally raw, but it will be fun to try some of the recipes!

I'm just happy knowing that I'm doing something great for my body, getting rid of toxins, boosting my self control, and am surrounded by all of you! When I drink my SWF in the mornings I smile knowing someone else is trying to chug theirs down at the same time. We're in this together, people!!!

We have a lifetime to eat, we ALL can make it to our planned day. It's that much more rewarding when we do!

Getting close to the end of my first transition day...I did mix of orange and grapefruit juice (mostly oj) with half water throughout the day, then my stomach started to rebel against the acid (OJ always does this to me!) so I just had a small bowl of veggie soup and so far, so good. Been taking the probiotics, too.

We leave tomorrow for New Orleans - I'm gonna miss this board! lol

wow, there are a lot of post this year. Well I didn't make it to 15 days. I ran out of syrup and determination. 11 days is the longest I have gone. Wahooo! I lost 10 pounds. I plan to add more raw recipes to my normal diet and continue to exercise. Every time I do the fast I add one more healthy thing to my life style. I ate half an orange got a tummy ache couldn't finish the rest. Drank lots more water and feeling better. I will eat the other half tonight for dinner and start making my veggie soup for tomorrow. :)

Good evening all! Day 15 for me and I feel GREAT! I just had a deep tissue massage and now drinking my tea getting caught up on all the posts. I don't weight myself ever ( I don't want to get caught up on a number) but I can say that my clothes are big and I have definately lost some weight. The main reason I do the cleanse is for the health benefits and mental clarity. I have never felt better or been healthier in my life since I found the cleanse 4 years ago. I am so thankful. My tongue is getting better, not so think and gross. Energy is high and metal clarity is unbelievable.

I was going to do a 10 day but

When this happens to me, which it is again this time even with the Celtic Sea salt, I go to the tea twice a day. I started this again this morning. With your period just starting I'd be willing to bet that you are about to lose a ton of weight! I just read somewhere that we burn twice as many cals wihile pmsing than the rest of the time too. Sounds like we are in much the same boat in more than one instance. That's about what I weighed when I started my last cleanse and got down to 140. Since than 12/25 I've gained back about three lbs. I'm working to get to 125-130 as well.

keep squeezing! :)

Well I am on day 3....or not! Started it on Tues and have eaten everyday since. Not a lot but a little sneaking food in so my other half doesn't know. Still losing weight but know that it is just because I have cut back on my caloric intake. Going to start fresh tonight with the tea and then take 1 again tomorrow. Would like to do it for 30 days since I turn 30 on Feb 20th. A play on numbers if you will. My body needs it as I am a junk eater when I do decide to eat which in itself isn't healthy. Thank all of you for being out there it is truly an inspiration and the reason I know that I CAN DO IT!! MIND OVER FOOD!!!
Wish me luck and I am wishing all of you continued success!! DOn't take that first bite it will turn into the whole product that you are eating!

KMailze- Hang in there, i did the same exact thing! Today would've been day 6 for me, but i cheated both saturday, AND sunday so i had to start again on monday...bacon, hell, any kind of meat is my WEAKNESS! haha...I felt really bad though, and since then, i've been doing good. The hunger pains don't bother me as much, and i keep coming back to these boards for moral support...:D The thought of feeling that guilt again is keeping me from cheating again.

End of day 4 for me...i'm especially hungry today? Probably cuz i made it to the gym and ended up taking a spinning class and the weight class afterwards to get an upper body workout in. It felt good, but i'm gonna pay for it tomorrow, i know. haha...came home and took a nice shower and epsom salt bath. I've had 2 lemonades since i've been home, and may have one more before i hit the sack...my hunger came back after my bath? I haven't had more than 7 lemonades each day, but i'm making sure i'm listening to my body and fixing myself another drink when i feel hungry.
Tomorrow will be my first day back at work...only a 4 1/2 hour shift, so i should be fine. Gonna make my lemonades (minus the cayenne!) tonight b4 bed, and just do the tea in the morning instead of the SWF...

Good night all!

Aggggh. It hurts.

Many people have reported such pains. It seems to be a fairly common detox symptom, but it sure hurts. Some who probably had similar but less acute pain were able to continue until it suddenly disappeared. You should find it abating in the next few days as you return to eating. You did great to get to 9 days. Hopefully, next time that pain won't even be an issue. You might have eliminated the problem.

The first two days werent bad at all. I was not hungry and had only some slight headaches. By the end of the second day, I started to get a pain in my lower back. It radiated down my legs. I tried to get through it but the pain got worse the third day, even keeping me up at night. I got scared, thinking it was my kidneys or something. I have decided to stop for now. I'll try again in a month or so.

Day 5

So far so good! But I will say that I have been having some really weird dreams! Really weird. Last night I had a dream that I was back with my Ex Husband................WT? And since this is a family forum I will NOT go into any details. Come on! I can handle the SWF and the LA and the Tea and Butt Pee but do I really have to endure dreams about my EX????? Sheesh

Maybe this is sign from my brain to end the cleanse;););)

Have a good day everyone and happy cleansing!

Hello all
Well it's MC1 day 4.I had bad cravings yesterday but I hear that it gets easier after 3 days.I didn't start the master cleanse until I had fasted 1 day.My original plan was to jumpstart a diet then I heard about MC.So I didnt really prepare like I would of liked to.I have done the swf everyday but haven't done the tea at night.I thought that if you did the swf you didn't have to do the tea.Is that wrong?????

Hello Lemonheads!

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing! I'm on Day 7 Post 10 Day Cleanse and it's been interesting exploring a new way of eating - moving towards raw of course LOL.

CONGRATULATIONS BETTY!!!! :D

LYNDA - Natalia Rose's books have really inspired me and that is what I've been moving towards (juicer arrived yesterday and haven't had a chance to use it). Do you follow her food-combining rules? And I know you workout - my workouts are really important to me and I'm not at pre-cleanse levels of energy or strength. I'm willing to suspend my beliefs in the importance of lots of protein to try a different way of eating (and I can't stomach :D the idea of processed artificially sweetened protein powder right now anyway), but any advice you could offer would be very welcome. You have already inspired me to actually try to follow some raw recipes! If you have a chance, and wouldn't mind sharing what you eat on a typical day - maybe in the Raw Challenge or After the Cleanse threads so as not to tempt people too much, I would really appreciate it.

Keep squeezing everyone and enjoy this wonderful cleanse adventure!

Peggy: Is it common for you to experience that kind of pain? If the answer is "No", then you know it's detox. Drinking lemonade for 2 days won't throw out your back.

Take a look at just "some" of the detox symptoms:

Symptoms

The healing crisis will usually bring about past conditions in whatever order the body is capable of handling at that time. People often forget the diseases or injuries they have had in the past, but are usually reminded during the crisis. Reactions may include:

Increased joint or muscle pain
Headaches
Diarrhea
Extreme fatigue and/or its opposite, sleeplessness
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
Drop in blood pressure
Skin eruptions, including: boils, hives, and rashes. Note: skin eruptions are often misdiagnosed as allergic reactions, resulting in the premature cessation of the cleansing program.
Cold or flu-like symptoms
You may think that you actually feel worse or that the treatment is not working at all during a cleanse. Do not despair. These are all signs that your treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.
Such reactions are temporary and can occur immediately -- or within several days, or even several weeks, of a detox. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks.See you next month! :)

My husband is in day 3 and feeling bad - muscles ache, slight headache, and tons of food cravings. He said he will at least go till lunchtime tomorrow. If he quits at that point, should he still take the 4 days to come off the cleanse? Also, should you always end with a SWF to get any toxins out from the lemonades you last drank?

Day 5 for me as well. Hanging in there just fine. Have had no cravings or any strong desire to eat which is completely and utterly unheard of for me! I am pretty sure an alien took over my body on Monday but apparently it's of the friendly variety and is doing much better with this body than I have! hehe :)

I know I will make it to day 10 and since this is my first cleanse and I did nothing really out of the ordinary to prepare, I am very proud of myself. (pats self on back) - I say that because lots of people might get discouraged that they didn't prepare by eating lighter or cutting out coffee or whatever and my own experience was that I was fine nevertheless.

Happy Friday!

Lynda--I ordered them as well and they arrived today. YUMMY!!!! I'm on day 9 and plan to keep going a while longer. The books will help me design my two week meal plan for post cleanse--thanks so much!

That's awesome! You will LOVE those books. I have made some of the food and desserts for my staff who doesn't eat this way and they are amazed at how good this food is! I found that it was easier for me on the last cleanse to pour over these books and figure out what I needed in the way of ingredients and order or purchase them so I would be completely ready to dive in when I came off the cleanse and that is exactly what I did! I am already eying a few things now that I am thinking of making for coming off of it this time too!

Would love to help! I bought her book when I was on my last cleanse 9/08, then I decided I would follow her way of eating. She is a level one (remember there are 5 levels in her book) and I follow her way of eating on a level one. the only thing is, I don't eat any meat or dairy (she eats goat cheese and some cooked fish).
So typical day for me would be ... papaya in the morning after a workout. Then a healthy green juice (I use her recipe for what she calls green lemonade), then a bit more fruit after that. A large salad for lunch. and then for dinner a gourmet raw dinner and dessert that I prepare. I have not used any of her recipes except her green drink. I use mostly matthew kenney's books and I have SO many other that I do thing out of. I spent alot of time going through them and then I put a sticky on the page at the top of the book with a label of what the recipe is so I can just go right to it. Lots of stickys on each book as there are so many things I can't wait to try. By eating this way, you are getting about 75% raw fruits, green juice and veggies and the other 25% is raw too but gourmet dinner and dessert.
That way you are satisfied with your food and aren't deprived. I LOVE eating this way and I look forward to my gourmet meals at night. I would not want to eat those for lunch , it would be too much. And I keep the weight off very easily eating this way (and of course exercising a lot).
Let me know if there is anything else you need!

Happy FRIDAY!

Day 12 for me !! I feel great but still can't sleep much.... I have only worked out once since I started this cleanse and I am bummed about that but I am spending so much time working and getting a lot done and giving my body a rest. Plus it's cold here and I am so cold right now that running outside would be a bit harder than normal on me.
I want a pink tongue, maybe it will never happen.... Or it may take several more cleanses to get there.
I am going to do a cleanse every quarter from here on out. so next three are 4-5 then 7-5 and then 10-5 starting dates. I think it's good to keep your body on track with your weight and bad habits and clean out the gunk.
week two is almost over!
You guys are doing great. RES is right , the first 3 days are the hardest and then I am not sure why but after that , it is fairly easy except when you are having major detox symptoms and I have been fortunate not to have any of those in either cleanse.....
Keep up the great work everyone, don't give up! WE are all here for you!

So far so good...Yesterday I had cravings but they were obscure and not unhealthy ones (for the most part). I was vividly imaging and could almost taste foods I haven't eaten in many years. Would just pop out of nowhere and I almost made a game of trying to identify the flavor I was remembering suddenly.

I still haven't had a decent BM even by non-fast standards, but I'm hoping my SWF will clear that issue up this morning.

Happy Cleansing today everyone :D

I am going to be starting the MC again on monday with some of my friends. 5 people all together. I did my first cleanse from Dec to Jan and I still have signs of being toxic. Acne, tongue a whitish pink color, fatigue etc. I do not think I did it long enough to reap the best benefits. So I am going to do it again and this time not give in to temptation until my tongue is pink again. My mouth is still hurting badly from my braces being adjusted and eating is too painful for me right now. So hopefully that will help me not give in to the detox symptoms.. I see that many on here have succeeded in the goal they set, Congrats!!

MC4 Day 13

Coasting at this point. Worked out hard this morning and waited to SWF @ 10:00. It's a brewing! Yesterday I tried Agave & limes instead of maple syrup and lemons. Nice change up but the agave went right through me- that stuff is way sweet. Today it's back to Maple Syrup. Probably will go to day 15, I just have to see if I'm still detoxing if so it's 20.

My body is feeling really good. Lot's of energy to work out & I don't even have to bundle up like I would on this 15 degree day. I actually wore my grappling shorts to the gym.

Dreaming about the Appalachian Trail - it's calling me. Probably spend some time organizing my pack.

HANG IN THERE EVERYONE!

Good Morning Lemonheads!!

MC1 Day 15

I upped my cayenne pepper to a hotter version and more of it so now my bladder is like a running faucet. :p I tried something different this morning. I take my SM tea at 10pm nightly. So it has me up at 4 or 4:30 am. Well this morning I had my BM at 4:00 am so afterwards I immediately did the SWF. But I went back to sleep. I woke up around 7:30 and the SWF was more productive. My butt pee was full of mucos. It was a suprise to say the least. I had about 5 elminations full of mucos! I think I'll do that from now on. I think the longer you can keep it in the more thorough the cleaning and my body didn't absorb any of it. After my final elmination I was the same weight before the SWF. I am satisfied!:D

good morning,

this is my first mc day 7. :)
i am bit sleepy right now where i sit very warm office and feel toasty (it is 12F outside).:eek:

i noticed that salt water does not taste like “SALT” water anymore. it tastes like water with bit saltiness to it. i can drink it fine, just hard to drink the amount all at once.:(

i had a small elimination this morning; i started worrying :(:(because i felt that my body was really ready to eliminate the waste. but it did not happen… then i went back reading the book (by the way, even after i read it a few times, i still carry it with me everyday so that i can reference it when i have questions). :D:D On page 47 under the topic of bowel movement, peter talks about his experience… well pretty much what he describes in the book is similar to what I am experiencing… so i stop worrying about it. ::)

well, have a great weekend!!!:D

thanks,

MC Day 15
11.5lbs down. I want it to come off faster.
Cankersores are getting better but still suck. I haven't touched cayenne in days, I'll die.
I want to come off the MC and go to regular juice fasting for a week or so but I can't until these things are gone because I can barely get lemonade past them. I feel ike the MC is just a "clenase" and regular juice are nutrition builders. Build some calcium reserves back and all that. Worked great for me last time but I did it for a couple weeks. I only wanted to be on this fast for about 3 weeks but these damn cakersucks are ruining it for me! Sorry, every post I rant about these things.
I also broke out in tiny little zits on my uppar arms and in various places and they hurt. At least none on my face though.

l went for a blood test yesterday..and the lady told me to come back because she couldn't find my veins after about 10mins of pressing on them. LOL. They can never find my veins, not sure if the fast made it worse. She said if I'm dehydrated they make them harder to find. Oops.

Hello fellow cleansers!
This is my first MC & I am on day 5. I am feeling a little slugglish today [w/a bit of nausea] which surprises me because the first 4 days were a breeze. I have a little concern though now: for some reason my body is responding now more now to the senna tea than the SW flush. I been waking up at around 4:30 to go to the bathroom because of it. I took the SW today at around 7 am and went back to bed for a bit. Unfortunately I did have any urges to eliminate. Is that ok?? Previous days, I would eliminate, but only once due to the SW and not 2 -3 times like some other people. I have been eliminating tho in the middle of the night [always around 4] because of the senna tea [like @ least 2x].

If anyone can give me any feedback, I would greatly appreciate it!!

Its -12 degrees here in Chicago today[crazy!!!]

Yay I'm done! I'm kinda sad - got used to the routine. So I cut it off a day early. My raw books were calling me. 18 days, pretty cool! Let me tell you this - fresh squeezed orange juice tastes like HEAVEN right now. OMG I can't even describe it. :) I feel great, my skin looks great, my eyes are sparkling and lief's good. I am excited for the next step, which is deciding how I will eat. I'm thinking 80% raw whole foods like fruits, salads, nuts, seeds and juices. More of the gourmet stuff on weekends, or when I figure out how to prepare it and how much it's going to cost me. I'm going to try preparing flax crackers. However, I bought a dehydrator that was kind of cheap from Target and there's no temp control. I hope it doesn't fry my enzymes. Any tips on how to prevent this? Maybe leave some extra vents open? Although I'm going raw for the time being, I'm going to go ahead and make the soup and eat that for a while. Veggies only for sure - that's one thing I'm absolutely certain of, no meat. Maybe sushi. I dunno, I don't have to decide now.

I'll see you all in the raw food bb!
Thanks for the support and for sharing your stories, hardships and successes.

Actually, I'm a dairy girl and if that butter was raw I could eat the entire stick - no vomiting. ;)

Ha Ha.... if you can make the transition and give up dairy and make the desserts in those books it is amazing what you can eat and not gain weight by giving up dairy (and meat of course). there is plenty of fat in those desserts but all natural fat. coconut butter and oil and nuts, etc.

I can't even watch food commercials let alone look at recipes :) Have a great day Lynda!

I know what you mean... I couldn't help myself from reading the recipes. I know when I come off of it I will eat healthy and raw but that doesn't mean I wouldn't LOVE to have anything I smell or see right now!

AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. someone just heated up something in my office and I can smell it. I can't stand it!

Day 1 of transition. I went 10 days, lost 12 pounds and feel awesome. Man, juicing those oranges and drinking that juice this morning, it was like I had never had OJ before in my life! So nice to have something different.

I'll be back, thanks so much for all of the great posts. Good luck to everyone!

I think I set myself up for failure. In my past 4 cleanses I went into them mentally prepared and even excited to get through it. With all the stuff that happened last week, and having to delay the start date of my cleanse, I guess I didn't really prepare and just sort of jumped in. So now it's day 5 and besides most of the day on day 2 I have yet to get that excited feeling about accomplishing a cleanse. I feel terrible and keep asking myself why I'm doing this to myself. I really should have waited until next week to start.

So now I'm unsure what to do. I was notified that I have an all-day offsite meeting next Wednesday where there will not be a fridge to store my drinks in. I have yet to stop a cleanse before day 10 but I'm really thinking about stopping on day 6 or 7 and then trying again in a couple months. It's so frustrating since I really do value the benefits of the cleanse. I will give it another day and think about it.

Hello all
Well it's MC1 day 4.I had bad cravings yesterday but I hear that it gets easier after 3 days.I didn't start the master cleanse until I had fasted 1 day.My original plan was to jumpstart a diet then I heard about MC.So I didnt really prepare like I would of liked to.I have done the swf everyday but haven't done the tea at night.I thought that if you did the swf you didn't have to do the tea.Is that wrong?????

Yes, that is totally wrong! You HAVE to do the tea also as that is what makes your bowels move! Drink the tea!!!!! :)

Hey CognacGirl

I really encourage you to hang in even though you're not excited this time. I think it's just a bonus if you are excited about it, but the effects you've enjoyed on your previous cleanses will be there whether or not you're as stoked about the process. I bet at the end you'll be satisfied that you achieved your goal regardless of your emotional or mental enthusiasm throughout :)

Also, I wonder for your all-day meeting could you drink it at room temp? I never drink mine cold and it's absolutely fine :)

Encouragement and support of whatever you decide :)

You are half way there! I didn't feel really prepared either this time as I found out Friday that my friend was starting on Monday and I just wanted to be moral support for him :) Half way there though!
Is there a way you can take the lemons and sqeezed them 2 drinks at a time for the day (Maybe just having to squeeze 2 lemons)? I hope so because you will be too close to finishing to quit! I encourage you to keep going. It's only one day and looking at all you have done in the past, I know you can do it! HANG IN THERE!

I've got to try this! Now that I'm back on the tea twice a day (starting yesterday) it has been waking me up again between 3-5am as well. I've heard drinking the SWF at least every third day is important. So, tomorrow morning I'll give your gig a shot and looking forward to all that ... :o lol thanks!

Thanks so much again for even responding!!!! :)

Let me know what happens! And, YOU'RE WELCOME! It was nice to see a message (this one) to me here as well! :)

I hit the 139.5 mark this morning!!!

For fun I'll give you the rundown:

1 day before the MC wt: 143.6 Than I went to the Olive Garden that evening and ate the same late at night.

MC day 1: 147.8
day 2: 143.9
day 3: 143.5
day 4: 143 (started tea x2 daily and cut out the SWF)
day 5: 139.5 8)

Keep in touch because I'm going raw after this and am not sure how long I plan to do this MC either (of course at least 10 days). You've got a year and a half of raw behind you! I've got all the equipment and some books...will be getting Mathew Kenney's as well seeing how people on here are raving about them :) can't wait :)

Well, I am almost done with my first cleanse. I kinda want to keep going but I am SO looking forward to homemade veggie soup that I need to stop or will end up eating everything in sight before I am ready. I am looking forward to doing this again, only I think for 14 days (right before the Tahoe family vacation!!).

My boss is on day 4 and she feels wonderfull. Maybe it will help me get a raise :D $1 a pound and she is at 10 pounds..right wishful thinking.

I am glad I decided to do this diet. I had a friend years ago who did it and I thought he was crazy but he was right, it does make you feel great. I have been working out hard and really staying in tune with my body!

I just remembered I had a dream last night where I had taken a huge bite of some cupcake frosting! And then I remembered I was on the cleanse and freaked out and spit it in the garbage! I think it was because I got the oprah magazine and it has a recipe in there for cupcakes... good grief!
Lynda

I had a weird dream that I licked a Munchkin from Dunkin Donuts. I only licked it because I knew I was on the clenase because when I saw them I remember thinking (in the dream) and hearing myself say I was on the cleanse. It was so weird..like a lucid dream or something. Maybe the mind clarity thing promotes those? lol

I was over my mother's the other day and saw munchkins which is where the dream must've came from. Really weird too because even if I wasn't on the cleanse, I wouldn't have grabbed one of those disgusting things. I can't even digest crap that comes from fast food places anymore.

Hi All,

So I am done! Today is post cleanse Day 1. I feel good and plan to stick to fruits and veggies for the next 10 days. Then I'll add, protein (nuts, beans, occasional fish), healthy fats and some starch. I was debating whether or not I should count this as a "true" master cleanse, and I came to the conclusion technically, I completed 8 days of the MC but started cleansing 10 days ago. The first two days I had some grapefruit juice. Perhaps come Springtime I'll do another 21 day cleanse and incorporate a full 10days of the MC somewhere in the middle. The first two days were really tough where I woke up in the middle of the night with hunger pangs--which is why I had the grapefruit juice. Given that this is my first attempt at the MC, I feel really good about myself and see that a full 10 days of just the MC is attainable for me.

Today, I had lemonade for breakfast and some clementines and grapefruits for lunch about an hour ago. Stomach feels fine and I'm not even that hungry. I thought I'd be ravenous and eagerly looking forward to veggie soup. So far, I feel like I could just stick to fruit today and it would be OK. We'll see. Going to whole foods later to buy some veggies...Perhaps tonight I'll have some veggie soup/broth.

Wish me luck on the next phase of this cleanse!

Day 15 for me, and this is officially going to be my last day. I have a terrible headache today, not sure why. This is the first time all cleanse. I just really want to go home and lay down.

I went to the grocery store last night and got all the yummy veggies I need for my soup and some Oranges and Grapefruits. The funny thing is that I am totally not a veggie person (I really only like a couple), but they all looked so good to me and I am so excited to make the soup on Sunday.

I m on MC3 day 5. Today I have a sore throat, and dont feel so hot... I have never felt like im getting sick while master cleansing, today i kinda do though... is sore throat a detox symptom? I had sthrep throat about 8 months ago, and over the holidays for a day or two it felt like my throat was getting sore again but i took some antibiotics for a couple of days and it sort of went away... Now i feel it creepin in again. Anyone else had this?

Anyway, today i made a great move... after handsqueezing the lemons on an old school juicer for the first 5 days, i pulled out my electric juicer... I had bought this at the end of my last cleanse and used it to make smoothies and such , but never actually used it for lemons and the laziness of having to clean it each time had put me off... THE LEMONADE IS DELICIOUS with the electric juicer! it tastes really different, also the consistency is different not as liquid... Im using a whole lemon rather then half a lemon (i have big lemons) ... I highly recommend it, i feel like im drinking a different drink now. I think i'll keep using one lemon (doubling the dose) maybe drinking a glass of water after.
Halfway there, starting to feel accomplished :)

I'm on day 5 and shooting for 10(more if I feel I need it). I would like to eat some of the things my family is eating, but I'm not really hungry. My eyes were a little yellow on day 3 and 4, much better today. I felt pretty lousy the first couple of days. I didn't have a real good elimination until yesterday. SWF just gets absorbed and fingers swell and no elimination, even tried increase in salt with little result. The lax tea works best so far. I will try SWF again Sunday am. Overall I feel best today so far. I have been getting about an hour of cardio each day. Weight on day 0 = 180. Weight today 170. I did indulge over the holidays, so I'm sure much of the weight loss is water at first. I was 175 by day 2, I'm sure the weight loss will slow down now. I'm drinking 2-3 liters of the lemonade daily, 2 lax teas and a peppermint tea. Adding a little maple syrup to tea for a few extra calories and for a little sweetness. My plans for after MC are cut out dairy completely. All land animal meats. Stick with fish occasionally. I make my own beer and can't give up that hobby, so the occasional beer will be part of my diet. I think these change will be good for now. maybe more change with next MC. Good luck to all.
Cheers and Happy trails!

Do you think that both of these things can be due to the increase in circulation due to the pepper? I have occasionally increased the pepper accidently(?) and I'm doing 12 lemonades per day. Any ideas?

Welcome Lightbody9,

It's very common to feel chilly on this cleanse, especially at the beginning. If you want, you can warm your water before adding the lemon juice and MS and cayenne. That usually wards off the cold.

As for the stuff in your leg, it's also common on the cleanse to have "echoes" of earlier problems. I can't say if it's the cayenne particularly. I doubt it. Just that the MC seems to stir stuff up like that. It's probably a form of detox and will no doubt be gone in a day or two.

Happy cleansing!

Replace the SWF with the Senna tea in the am.

Also, what Salt are you using??? The Mediterranean Light Grey Celtic Sea Salt is recommended it doesnt taste that bad at all, i warm two big glasses of water in the microwave for 1 minute, and sip it with a straw warm, i push the straw in the back of my mouth to bypass most taste glands and sip it while reading on the comp, dont even feel it.
but you can replace with the Senna, im on day 5 too, dont quit! tomorrow you are Most of the way there :)

Day 12:

Cravings:

Nutritional yeast
BBQ seitan

I was really happy from the afternoon on, though, because I got approved to take a week off of work in March!

Day 13 (today)
Not as cold.

Cravings:
Veggie Max from Subway
Tofutti pizza
Fake chcken nuggets
BBQ

hello all! what a great site - wish i got here 5 days ago when i started!
this is my first MC and it has thus far been relatively easy. i havent had any physical ailments (outside of the constant stomach churn). i also thought i'd be more short tempered without food, but have been relatively upbeat. i confess to not doing the SWF until this morning (tea morning & night instead), but after the results, i'll definitely do it every morning until day 10 .
my dreams have also been a lot more vivid (maybe that has to do with waking up so much!); last night i dreamt that the manager of the sex pistols broke my arm with a baseball bat after the guitarist and i rolled him up in a carpet and threw him outside. upon waking, i found that my arm was curled up beneath me and was sore - like maybe my mind had to find some way of justifying the ache. i chuckled about it as i ran to the john.
keep going everyone - literally!

I'm on day 3 - You can either try drinking the salt water SLOWLY like take 10 - 20 minutes or you can just do another lax tea in the morning instead of SWF. Hope this helps - good luck

I just came from a party with my sisters and I feel horrible. I'm ending Day 15 and the smell of all that food has made me sick to my stomach. I just want to purge! I'm nauseated and my stomach is turning from smelling food for the last 3 hours. I didn't cheat and I'm proud of myself. When I drank my Lemonade my stomach got even worse. This feeling kicks rocks!! :(

Like others have said you can do the lax tea in the morning instead of the SWF, but it's hard to know how the lax tea will affect you. You can end up with cramps and pretty violent eliminations during the day. The "nice" part of the SWF is that it is over and controllable within 2 hours and it does a better job of flushing the system of toxins.

You might try doing the SWF in stages. First thing in the AM drink 8 oz of plain water. Then drink 4oz of water and mix in the 2 teaspoons of sea salt. Immediately after the concentrate drink 20 oz of plain water. You can pretty well gulp the 4 oz concentrate down in just a few gulps. Then you can wash your mouth out with the plain water and the whole process is more tolerable.... admittedly the 4 oz is nasty, but at least it isn't the whole 32 oz being nasty. Give it a try and see how it goes for you. Good luck.

MC4 Day 14
Life is good. I can tell my body is close to finishing detox. Less "dirt" in the BM's. SWF EM's are progressively clearer. I increased my H20 intake yesterday. Had a great workout yesterday and was much stronger than on Day 5! I've hung during some pretty tempting situations and pressed on through the self justifying stage of quitting early.

D7 down. And what a day it was. Finally really feeling like this is working. Think my deep tissue massage last night helped push things along & out.

So happy to have conquered 5 days in the office cleanings. This 3 day weekend will be cake. Well, not cake. Mmmmm cake.

hahah that made me laugh! I did great at work even though being bored there is one of my food triggers. I snarf all day at my desk (which is what got me into the place where I had to just get it all out in one fell (10 day) swoop!). So, the fact that I was able to breeze through it showed me something big is going on. This has been such a huge and profound turnaround for me - I can't even explain it.

I'm Day 6 here and feel great. I have consistent energy during the day, go to sleep about 10:30 or so, wake up between 5:30-6am feeling rested and good. I'm used to feeling kinda sluggy all day so it's a nice change.

I'm down 8 lbs so far which is nice and can tell my body is very happy. I'm listening to it more closely (I can hear it better when I'm not in a haze of crap food) and plan to continue doing that.

Good luck today, wherever you are on the path.

Then drink 4oz of water and mix in the 2 teaspoons of sea salt.
Your choice in doing something like this is entirely up to you, but the BB doesn't recommend it nor do we support you in it. A condensed form of salt water can actually burn your esophagus that's why if you decide to "alter" the swf you're on your own.

I am on day 5 of what I believe is my 7th MC. I have had 1 & 1/2 days of exhaustion, & the rest of the time have felt pretty good. Walked on my treadmill 3 days. I am stopping later today after I finish the lemonade that I have left. I sensed at the beginning of this that I would go only 5 days this time, & got the confirmation this a.m. that I was right. So, it will be 5 & 1/2 days total. This is still the best, most effective fast I've ever done. I am going to continue on juices for a few days & HOPEFULLY eat mostly fruits & veggies thereafter.

I'm on day 3 of a water fast, and I plan on ending with a master cleanse, then going unto juices, then back to fresh fruits and veggies.... it's very challenging, i really want to keep going, but there is a lot of temptation, I'm only 22 and overwieght by at least 120 lbs., tired of this unhealth life built on glutten habbit, i need some support, I don't want to quit... I want to be better. Oh and this isn't my first time doing this, i've just always quit on the third day before, and today is the third day, i'm nervous!

You can do this if you have already done the water fast switching over to this will be a piece of cake. I am on day 13 and I tell you what... It is so great to realize you have the self control and the will to accomplish anything

Hi everyone. Looks like I am ended my cleanse way sooner than I expected. I made it 11 days and down 16 #. This morning I found I had dropped another 2.5 after my first day of transition. I am hoping to maintain a raw or mostly raw diet to continue the weight loss. I did not quite make it down to where I was after my last cleanse but I am close. I was still clearing stuff from the GE tract and my tongue has yet to turn pink. I have completed 73 days total in the last year and still clearing stuff? I guess my friends are right, I AM full of it!

On a side note, I decided to end the cleanse b/c my youngest daughter was admitted to the mental health unit in a nearby hospital on the 12th. The cleanse was starting to get really mental for me and I have enough to deal with mentally right now in getting through this with my daughter. This was one of the things I was fasting about and we are finally getting some answers. Been having problems with her for about a year and a half. This is her second hospitalization in a year and it is going much better than the last one. :) (She managed to do a 10 day cleanse back in August.)

For those who are inclined to do so, would appreciate prayer for us. I plan to continue "fasting" in the form of avoiding certain foods as there are still some answers I am seeking for things in my life.
Thanks in advance.

I ended yesterday on day 12 and I miss the lemonade already! I never got bored with the taste and would have kept going but my roommate decided it was time to quit so I'm joining her. I'm so glad I did it and sooooo glad I found this message board! Thanks everyone! Gonna try to eat much better now and will keep this website bookmarked for all the great info.. I might even try again in the spring. If anyone's interested, I lost 8 pounds with no exercise.

Is everybody ready?

Here we go! :D

Peter 8)

hi
i am on day 7 and it has been ok until today...i worked all week and got over the pucky feeling with the salt, proud of myself, mark the calendar everyday after that salt! hardest part for me that and getting up early to do it and not eating ...oh i miss food...i make a great healthy dinner for my daughter every night, got the juicer going for her and the pets, so it is kind of cool

i am having a hard time navigating this site..i have not found the sign up page yet ...the link says sign up for the 2009 cleanse and then i get to some page and dont see where to sign up

both stanleys and perter's books have helped alot. I wish peters book was as low priced as stanleys..i want to pass them out but the 20 cost is prohibitive ...oh well.

i did the cleanse before but without the salt...very different...it needs that flushing of the acids...i just puked the first time i used the salt but this time i got it down!...and then first time i tried to do a cleanse a month later...wrong....starting losing hair...not alkaline enough and because raw foods do thrill me i am hard pressed to go cold turkey on them to build alkalinity before a cleanse ....so this time i am wondering: i may order the alkaline grit stuff from arise and shine cause i am feeling cramps in my legs at night...i tooks some potassium pills and i am thinking of continuing my d vit pill and maybe minerals...i need to be ok...it is better than nothing and i sure dont want to lose hair ...and not disciplined enough to do raw for a few months etc etc....but i will work it out

i dont feel energetic today at alll, as i have all week...tired, very tired today...day 7

oh by the way, do you sell toungue scrapers on your site? didnt notice but that might be a good seller!

a colleague of mine is thinking of going on the cleanse but has candida...when she put candida in the search on the raw food site, nothing came back

she really needs some sound advise on it: scare...there is a site that equates maple syrup as pure sugar and puts the fear of death in folks who do the mc if they have candida it would be great to have sound advise about it

as for the yellow movements: why cant one of us have it analyzed? we are all guessing as far as i have read...what does it take to have it analyzed ...how would one go about it? i noticed in a lot of the mc reportings and lit there are a lot of educated guesses but no science experiment analysis:)

has anyone considered the teeth enamal...i know lemon is hard on that but i guess only 10-20 days 4 times a year wont hurt? i wish there was sound reporting on that too..a study or....

i am stuggling to day i have to admit
home will go to work at 3 p.m. til 1 a.m. as i do every sat....not bad once i am there and i will stock up on lemonade!...people say my eyes look brighter at work....i noticed a student was eating a sub next to me, and my little monkey mind started making a mental list of all the things i want to eat when i am thru with the cleanse ...and then i stopped myself and said to myself.so i am going thru this great cleansing with the goal of eating those toxin causing foods as the end result...it is so crazy...it helped but oh the smell of onions mayo and fresh bread...ugh....my mind!

yesterday i was interpreting from 11-3 straight and no time at all for any water or lemonade...wow did my energy plummet...i realize i have to be more self caring and less focused on doing ....i learned a lesson there! i even had it with me but i was wicked busy and just not self caring enough to take one minute to drink ...no one holding my hand but me

i would really like to hear back from folks who do not have a wife or a partner or roommate to help them on the cleanse and with eating raw...i would like to hear form folks in my own position...it is pretty challenging not to have a "wife" to support with the buying and preparing of eating well so i would love to hear how other singles or single moms like me do it...my daughter is in h.s. and i feel this is an important time for me to model and provide healthy ways to her but it is hard for me to do it....

i read in the peter book a person dedicated the cleanse to god ...i am not religious but i liked the idea and transfered it to dedicating it to my daughter...brings tears to my eyes and a smile:)

a hint you all may already know but: after you cut the lemons in half at their middle, if you cut X's in it it is so much easier to juice by hand or with the machine....i actually just got a 400 dollar check back from my power company cause i am backing away from energy use in my house...i found out everytime we use electricity we are creating pollution with coal, nuclear and hydroeletric too..mostly it there is not much wind power here....and i like the ritual of twisting the lemons....thanking them from my whole being as i twist them....but i understand if others like the machine....just preferences...but the X really helps

i am lonely on this cleanse....food was my buddy...but i love the lemonade, thank goodness

i am in the process of indexing peters book for myself as i find it hard to locate all the craving references, hunger references and so on...i want to be able to help my buddies who decide to join

i a thinking of going for 20 days..what are the challenging days past 10?

thank you to jo anne and peter for supporting us and themselves thru this

Hi All,

I love reading your comments - regardless of where any of us are we can both inspire and be inspired by the experiences of others. :)

This is day 17 for me. I'm heading for a pink tongue regardless of the time length required.

Most days have been ok but the ones that are challenging seem to be the result of reaching a new "level" of detox. WHat I know for certain, and have learned from doing this before, all restless, irritable and discontented-ness tends to flee the next morning after the SWF and it's following eliminations.

I too am grateful for this forum and all of you who care enough about yourselves and all of us to come here and share.

- Day 17
- Lost 11.5lbs. Only down 11.5lbs but I lost 4lbs the day before I started from doing a liver flush.
- Haven't had cravings in a few days really. I don't care about food. I'm at that stage where I can enjoy the smells but not neccesarily want to eat it. Last night I drove by a pizza place that definitley smelled like pizza and it smelled good but I didn't get crazy cravings that told me to go get some.
- Going to go 3 weeks/21 days. Then I'm doing a week of vegetable juices. I don't have the 'Nutritionial Reserves" to be doing the MC this long . I had to stick with the MC this long because it's the easiest thing to get past the cankersores which are almost gone. So I'll be switching over sometime next week.
- My pants still aren't any more loose. Sucks. I want to quit but this is making me want to keep going. I'm determined to lose most of this weight.. it's pissing me off.
- Didn't get to go to the gym last night because they have such sucky hours and close early Friday-Sunday. I had energy so I walked around the grocery store instead as I bought some more supplies and stuff.

[SIZE="2"]Your weight loss during transition is encouraging, I'm on day 6 and trying to coast the rest of the way. It's time I got my derrière downstairs and got back on my elliptical. I always thought you were suppose to rest on a fast!! My energy levels aren't what they were pre cleanse and I always want to take a nap in the afternoon. From reading the blogs it's a common theme

Good Morning :) Still with you all on this on the beginning of D4. Despite some troubling issues I've started having and hope to get some input on (details on the SWF thread), I'm upbeat overall and want to see this thing through! Today will be the first social day and evening since I've been on the cleanse so we'll see what new challenges that presents. Last night I was fixated on the food I saw in a movie I rented...lol...Probably would have tuned it out normally. Not hungry, but craving :)

Have a beautiful Saturday everyone!

im on day 4 of my first cleanse. i woke up this morning though and felt incredibly sick. i got up to take my SWF and i fainted. i tried to get back up slower and i fainted again. so i caved and had a glass of water and a TINY piece of a banana just to give me a little energy. i made it through my swf but after my first elimination, i felt really weak. but after having some of my lemon drink i am feeling a lot better!

i realized that yesterday i accidentally only put two tablespoons of lemon and syrup into my water bottle instead of four:eek::eek: that was not a smart move and a mistake i wont be making again!

do you think the piece of banana will set me back? i just couldnt help myself. the fainting really freaked me out.

YES!!! LOL, it's important to "go" any time you feel the urge (and even it you think you don't, if you've been reading here!)! The tea kicks in before the SWF but also helps the bowls move after the SWF as well :) So by all means, PLEASE don't hold it.
You don't want any of that gunk being reabsorbed into your body.

And, to drink the SWF after eating or drinking anything will almost certainly make you sick.

really? crap.

i had read somewhere that a tiny bit of banana (and we're talking TINY!) wont hurt you because its easy to digest. i guess thats wrong. :(

either way i feel fine, i havent gotten sick after the swf and i actually feel really great. seeing as its day four, im finally getting past the headaches and cravings somewhat. and i have a ton of energy.

did it really set me back that much? should i add a few days to the end of my cleanse?

PINK - absolutely go to the bathroom whenever you need to - the more the better!! The laxative tea would always make me "need to go" first thing. The more you get rid of beforehand, the more "space" the SWF has to flush :D

LYNDA - thanks for your menu :D When I did Natalia Rose's detox level quiz I came out at a Level 2, but honestly I don't know if I want to be level 2 yet. I'm just going to listen to my body and see where I feel like going - I was a big veggie eater, but ate a lot of chicken/meat too. I was the typical bigger breakfast/6 small meals a day/lots of protein eater. So far, a week after finishing this 10 Day MC, I just had my first nuts yesterday (in the form of oneluckyduck raw treats :D ), and have had no meat or dairy. I am certainly loving the food I'm eating now. RAW is rockin!! I'll just have to see.

Do you follow her food combining rules too? Or have you paid enough attention to your body to know exactly what works best for you? Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and experience!! Oh - one more question - do you do anything with your juice pulp?

Okay, I'll stop pestering you with food questions while you're cleansing - promise :)

Thanks again,

Hi all!

Trying to catch up on my reading (of all these great posts)! I'm on Day 8 :) which means I'm more than 1/3 way through! :D 20 days is my plan this time. I'm glad I'm finally getting toward the middle of this thing. No real de-tox effects so far. I'm so curious what's going to happen after Day 10 since I've never gone longer before.

Take it one day at a time! This morning I got up later than I do on weekdays, went out for my exercise and didn't get to do the SWF until about 10 or so. Still worked wonders! Felt a little tired after a while, but that's because I had only had one lemonade by about 12:45, so I had a couple more and my energy is back!

I have lost 9 pounds in the first 7 days - woo hoo! Hope to lose 15 on my 20-day cleanse, then continue to lose about 9 more after that. If I'm able to do that, I'll be in territory that I have not been in more than 15 years!!:D I can't bring myself to look at the raw recipes yet, but will when I get toward the end!

So great to see everyone's successes and everyone helping each other. Hang in there everyone, it's SO worth it!

Peace, Love, and Lemonade:p

Hi All, I am on Day 17 of my second major MC! My first was for 40 day in 2007. My tongue is about 75% clear. I hope to conclude my cleanse on Day 23 (January 23) with a totally clear tongue. I walk each morning for 35 minutes and have lost 14 lbs. I reduced the effects of hypertension after my first cleanse with an 80% raw diet. I'm working towards eliminating it all together; so, when I conclude this fast I plan to go raw for 30 days! I feel great!

Here I am on day 13 and thinking of going for 21, but I just don't know. I had my first eating dream last night. I dreamed I put a bunch of green grapes in my mouth at the grocery store. They were so crisp and delicious and sweet! But I felt bad I'd broken the cleanse this far in.

I'm mostly just tired and bored. I'm not seeing great results, even though I am doing everything "by the book." This is like... I really think this is probably like cleanse #14 or #15 for me, and I am having a lot more "emotional" cleansing than physical. I have had a lot of very interesting realizations.

Anyway, stay strong, lemon heads!

So....I wrote earlier today and said everything was pretty much fine...
But, now I must admit this is my first day of really getting tired of it all and just wanting a snack to munch on.:o
That being said, I'm not tempted to stop - I'm just admitting my desire to eat! ;) I'm planning on 20 days and I'm on Day 8. I know if I were to stop now or within the next couple of days, I would too easily go back to my ways of overeating and eating the wrong stuff. :( SO, no stopping me now!
I really hope that after 20 days, then transition days, I can truly savor every morsel, be very conscious of everything I eat (instead of mindless stress eating), and steer clear of processed foods, etc. I love food and nothing's wrong with that - I just have to enjoy it in the correct ways. It's meant to be enjoyed...not just stuffed in.
Anyway - just had to get that out.
Back to my lemonade.:)

Hang in there... you can do your 21, I know it! (I'm on day 13 as well but aiming for 40 days, so I'm right there with you).

timandnastu, Hello and welcome!

So... just the usual ups and down on day 13. Sometimes I feel absolutely great, not hungry, energetic, etc. and then sometimes I'm suffering the cravings, feeling tired, sick of the lemonade... blah, blah, blah. I just try not to identify with any one moment (although easier said than done sometimes) and just keep my focus on how good it feels to meet goals set. It's still awfully tough at times, though.

Congrats to everyone finishing up, and keep chugging along to the rest of you!

Hi Everyone,

I'm finishing up day 6 and I'm feeling fine though a little bored. I had some mint tea today and that usually helps. I find days 6 and 7 to be the hardest so I'll be glad when the weekend is over!

I'm amazed at how much I learn about my eating habits by doing the cleanse. I never would have called myself a mindless eater, but by NOT eating I realize that I eat when I'm watching TV, I eat when I'm under stress and I eat when I'm bored. I also finish up whatever my 4-year-old son hasn't eaten on his plate! I'll be much more aware of these habits now and I think that will help me maintain my optimum weight in addition to a eating healthy diet. I'll also put less on my son's plate from now on!

I've been reading the boards and I'm impressed by how many people are going longer than 10 days. Maybe I'll try that in the future, but for now I'm sticking to 10. :D

really? crap.

i had read somewhere that a tiny bit of banana (and we're talking TINY!) wont hurt you because its easy to digest. i guess thats wrong. :(

either way i feel fine, i havent gotten sick after the swf and i actually feel really great. seeing as its day four, im finally getting past the headaches and cravings somewhat. and i have a ton of energy.

did it really set me back that much? should i add a few days to the end of my cleanse?

I don't know! If you feel great, Keep going! and, good for you! On my last cleanse I messed up and restarted the next day... You do what feels right. I feel bad enough saying what I said earlier! :o
Best wishes! :)

I'm on day 5 and ran out of syrup!! My shipment is not yet here and I am hungry. My town is small and I can't find any Grade B, so I'm probably going to get some grade A so I can continue and not give in... What is the difference anyway??

The difference is the mineral content. But to hold you over, grade A will work!

Hi - Checking in for the 2nd time since I started and I have a need express my frustrations - I am on day 13 and was ready to quit on day 10 but just felt I wasn't where Iwas supose to be.... I had lots of encouragement from my Chiro and my friends and even my oldest daughter thought I should continue. I am feeling that I am missing something or something is just not right, I am even feeling a little depressed and I have decided I long for the clean pink tongue everyone talks about.

I have been showering but longing for a hot bath and hadn't been able to do that yet and I finally took a bath with epson salts on day 11 and that really seem to motivate me, warmed me up to - I am amazed at how cold I am especially since I was always hot. Then I had a friend give me a raindrop massage on day 12 and that got me to today - and now I find myself looking at my tongue many times and trying to brush off the film with my tooth brush. I want to reach that goal and I want it soon.

My family is getting a little frustrated with me and wants me to be done. They are tired of fending for themselves but I still don't feel comfortable making them food. I buy all the groceries and line up the meals and all they have to do is make them and clean up. I told them that this is about me getting healthy and they need to stand behind me on this. I have a 12, 15 and 17 year old and a husband who was severly hurt in a motorcylcle accident 7 years ago. I lost my Mother-in-law in Sept, my Grandpa in March, 2 Aunts and my Father-in-Laws 2nd wife all in the later part of 2007. We own our own business and with the economy right now we have been hit very hard. I have been spending lots of time at work and just breathing through this fast not feeling as if I am accomplishing what it is I am to do. Praying through this decison to do the cleansing, looking for Gods direction for my life and what I am really supose to be getting out of this cleanse. My daughter graduates in May and I have a picture I carry in my purse of her and I from prom last year and I find it totally repulsive. She is so beautiful and I am obese. I look at my wedding pictures and my pictures of when I had her and can't belive how I let myself go and the destruction I did to my body. I am 100 lbs heavier than I was when I gave birth to her and 150 lbs heavier than when I was married 23 years ago. One of my big concerns is where is all this skin going to go...... yuk!

I read in some of the blogs and suggestions about taking more baths and getting massages to help eliminate the toxins - I think I need to schedule another massage next week. I am really missing having something to crunch and eat. During the day and so I am fine because I am busy trying to survive at work but after 7 or 8 at night when I go home is when I miss eating and I know that is something I need to get over before I go off the cleansing. Plus I really like to cook, bake and prepare so I miss that alot.... Also I really don't like the tea I am drinking at night - the smooth move stuff - any other brands or suggestions? I have never been a big tea drinker and I am just trying to down it in 5 or 6 gulps and be done.

I am going to Curves Monday to see what I have lost. I haven't been able to be there since Monday of last week because of the snow and very cold weather they weren't open Wednesday or Friday. I am kinda excited to see where I am at. For those of you out there that are prayer warriors - please pray for me. Thank you -

I am on the 10th day of this Master Cleanse. This is my second Master Cleanse. I did one about two years ago that lasted for 12 days. One of the positive effects of that cleanse is that it's appears to have gotten rid of the arthritis in my left hand. That arthritis has never returned. Even with this success, it took me two years to return. There is no getting around the fact that the cleanse is a harsh regime. That is probably why it has taken me two years to go back on another Master Cleanse. However, I've been having some recurring arthritis problems in my neck, and I figured it was time to try this again. Here are some things that I have discovered.

The salt water flushes have not gotten any easier since the last time I did this. The suggestion that you use lukewarm water is a good one. It does seem to make a little more indurable. I also find it helps to flush my mouth out with fresh cold Spring water immediately after I finish gulping down the quart of sea salt water.

The price of lemons and Grade B. maple syrup has certainly gone up in the last two years.

Around the six day at the cleanse, I try switching to limes instead of lemons. I did this both times. I do this thinking it is going to give me some variety. Truth be told, I can't tell the difference between the two except perhaps the that limes are a little more tart. Then again, maybe not. Having tried this experiment, I return to the lemons for the duration of the cleanse.

Nice as it is to follow up with people on this website, it is much better to have a close buddy doing this with you. It just makes it that much easier when you can share what you're going through. It isn't just relating your trials and tribulations, but also your successes and those interesting discoveries that to make along the way.

The last time I did the Master Cleanse,. At about deify every joint in my body seemed to ache. At the time, I believe I was told that it was part of the decalsification around the joints in my body and that it may be one of the reasons that the cleanse helped me with my arthritis. As discomforting as this was, I was anxiously awaiting it as a sign that it was working. Yesterday, day nine, I began to get that same soreness and all of my joints, and it has continued today. I will probably keep going on the master cleanse for a few more days rather than ending it tonight. I would like to get the full benefit of any decalsification that may be taking place.

I marvel at those people were able to do four of these every year. How are you able to do that? I wonder to myself if it is really good to do something of this stringent a nature that often. Perhaps it would be better to look at the things you are doing the rest of the year, and try to alter them in such a way that something this severe isn't necessary that often. Of course, that's just my opinion. As as the old saying goes about opinions. "...everybody's got one."

I'm down about a dozen pounds, but having done the Master Cleanse once before, I know that much of it will come back as soon as I refill my intestines. It is a shame that so many people look at this as a diet. This is really a misnomer. It truly is a cleanse, not a diet. I think that a lot of the people that don't take the program to its fruition, or are disappointed in the results, come from the perspective of dieting, rather than the perspective of cleansing the body.

Either way, I have a great deal of respect for people that go through with this. It is a serious commitment to personal betterment, and isn't that a wonderful way to start the new year. My very best wishes to everyone who offers their insights and support at this website. They are an inspiration to all of us each and every day that we need a boost in morale. Thanks.

This is the second day of my cleanse and I seem to be doing well. I am not as hungry as I thought I would be. I was expecting today to be my worse day, but it hasn't happened yet. Oh well, thats great news! I will keep hanging in here, but is this really normal?

Extra water shouldn't hurt.

I ran into the same problem with my containers. In your 32 oz container use 24 oz. water, six tbsp. lemon juice, and six tbsp. maple syrup. This should give you about 30 oz. lemonade (three-10 oz. servings).

For this MC I purchased a 40 oz. Klean Kanteen ($25) from REI. I fill it with 32 oz. water, 2/3 c. lemon juice, and 2/3 c. maple syrup, and cayenne to taste. For a 20 oz. container, use 16 oz. water, 1/3 c. lemon juice, and 1/3 c. maple syrup. For a 10 oz. container, use 8 oz. water, 2 tbsp. lemon juice, and 2 tbsp. maple syrup. :)

Is there anywhere on this site that discusses gallstones? I'm on the last day of my transition days and I know that I got gallstones from the detox...not to mention hemmeroids. I need to read up on it before I decide to go to the doctor. It says if you lose weight too fast then gallstones can develop. I am in pain and discomfort.

Lynda (Otis) Thank you so much for the encouraging words!

You are doing fantastic too! Are you now on day 20?

I love the Oprah Magazine too. :)

You are so welcome! I am on (technically since it is now sunday) day 14. I have decided I am stopping today! I don't feel a need to go to 21 like before, my tongue is still gross but it didn't clear up last time at 21 days either! I don't need to lose any more weight and my recipes are calling me
I was in the kitchen most of today making some of the stuff for my menu that takes awhile to dehydrate.
I purchased an ebook online from a raw chef in the UK called russel james (that is how he spells it)
menu for this week. ebook of thai recipes
pomelo salad with sweet and spicy cashews, curried cabbage pillows and lime and passion fruit cheesecake (I am not using his crust recipe, using another one from matthew kenney that is a coconut macaroon crust). Also... papaya and mango crepes with passion fruit creme.
I can't believe I have been working on this stuff and didn't even lick a spoon! I can hardly wait!

How long are you going?

I just wanted to say that I am on day 10 today of my first MC and I have felt fine through out the cleanse so far without any cravings until this afternoon. My one complaint is that I have been freezing cold this entire time. I have been wearing my fleece jacket and sweat pants even though my house is 68 degree's. I would like to make it to 20 days if I can. My tongue hasnt turned pink yet but I'm hoping it will soon.

MC 5 D10 I just finished day 10. I feel wonderful and am looking forward to the next 10. I am shooting for 27-30 days. I have been using a straw for the SWF and that has made such a difference. That has always been the hardest part for me in the past. God bless whoever invented the straw. I have enjoyed reading alot of your posts and can truly relate to some of them.

Is it cheating when I love to kiss my husband after he eats just so I can taste his lips? He had Chinese food the other day and I had to go take a bath so I couldn't smell it. I am amazed that I am not as hungry as I have been on previous cleanses. I am trying to get my husband to do the last 10 days with me. We will see. I am feeling very energitic and am able to work out 2-3 hours 5 days a week as per usual. I also have cronic knee problems and they swell a lot and I ice daily. Since I have been on the cleanse I have noticed that the inflammation has decreased. YEAHHHHHH

Thank everyone for sharing their progress and experiences. It really helps when you know you are not going through it alone. God Bless You All and Congratulations in Advance to all.

End of day 6 for me...:)

Pretty darn proud of myself for gettin this far...Went to go hang out with some friends, and didn't crack under the pressure to have a drink, or have a bite of somebody's smore's! haha...For the first 4 days i kept myself holed up in the house because my cravings would get pretty bad. And what's cool, is that i was with all of the friends that i've been having dreams about lately. We had a wonderful time, and everyone was being totally supportive of what i'm doing. I gave the book to one of them, and now 2 of the homies are gonna try the cleanse also!:)

So i'm over the hump now...whew! It feels good...haven't lost weight on the scale, but i'm noticing that my clothes are a bit looser, and i feel really light. I'm gonna start putting more cayenne in my drinks to accelerate the detox symptoms. The only thing i've really been experiencing is the cravings, and crazy vivid dreams. I'm also toying with the idea of going 12-14 days? We'll see how i'm feeling when day 10 rolls around...but i am looking forward to that vegetable soup! Wherever the wind takes me...:)

Keep on truckin everybody! It's gonna be SO worth it in the end!

I've finished day one and learning the same thing. I've noticed I taste everything that I feed to my 2 yr old son, which I guess makes sense for safety sometimes. But it really isn't necessary.

And the sea salt flush: With the first cup I was thinking, this isn't so bad... I don't' know what everyone is complaining about. Then I got so sick of it and only made it to 3 1/2 cups before vomiting a little. So I stopped at 3 1/2 cups. But really, that water makes me burp like crazy, and does not feel good on my stomach. I will try using a straw tomorrow or buying a new sea salt, maybe a pink or brown one.

Thin4Life - check your Private Messages. :)

I'm on Day 7 here and sailing right along. Found a good book yesterday by Natalia Rose about transitioning to a raw diet and I think I am going to work toward that. Right now, I am dreaming about yummy salads and nuts and stuff so that's probably my path. (Although dreaming of licking a munchkin sounds more fun!)

Down about 9lbs which is great but more than that, I love the consistent energy and motivation I've gained. Although not quite yet on the motivation to clean. Surely that comes soon, no?? :)

I am starting on Day 14, Like I mentioned the last time I posted was this is probably my 5th or 6th time with the cleanse and the longest. I think the first week was the toughest, not because of any cravings, but I had a hard time keeping the SW down, but I plugged on.

I am thinking that I will stop sometime this week, but a friend wants to stay on (she is just starting), but not sure if I want to. I am anxious to get started with trying to continue to lose weight the raw way.

I started my first dehydrating last night, I made onion bread and apple cookies, tomorrow I plan on making wild mushrooms, pizza, tosada shells and more. Its a good thing I have 2 more days off from work.. got to admit I did cheat... I tasted the onion bread batter and the cookies.

It has been so hard to tell how I am doing on this flush. I know that I didnt really miss food except for once in a while, but I can tell you I did miss my COFFEE..

Here on Day 7 and yesterday the detox symptoms really started to set in. I am sitting here this morning with a runny nose and yesterday I was quite irritable. Last night the tea must have worked on me earlier becasue at 3AM I was in the bathroom :(

Good Luck Everyone and Happy Cleansing.

Hi Everybody: Day 18 for me. :) Went to the zoo yesterday with my family. I loaded up on lemonade before we left the house and I bought everyone lunch and was present through all the snacking. lol Saw lots of food being consumed and I totally enjoyed most of the smells. Especially the bbq smells. It was a lovely day and we walked for 3.5 hours. Ahhh. :)

Wow, lots of ups and downs since yesterday. Such is the cleanse though. The weekends can be tough for some because it's supposed to be a "relaxing and a let it all down" time and food is usually involved. You miss it and feel left out and deprived.

Don't DESPAIR! THIS IS NOT YOUR LIFE!! It's a tiny bit of time where you are giving your body a break from Food Abuse! It can only do good. Keep going. You set a goal now go for it.

I have to say that I am probably the most bored with the lemonade that I've ever been and this has been going on for a week. BUT, it's not over so I gag each one down. haha

YOU CAN DO IT! You know you can. :) http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-sport040.gif

MC4 Day 15

Feeling great is good enough. I can tell my body is close to being finished. EM's are less productive and my tongue is beginning to look pinkalicious. I never set a goal number of days to complete on the MC- instead I just cruise and somehow know when to stop. MC1 was 10 days, MC2 14days, MC3 4days (on that one I justified quitting). This 4th MC has been relatively easy after the first 5 days of severe flu like symtoms and some huge temptations along the way.

HANG IN THERE EVERYONE IT'S WORTH IT!!!!

G-9: You did a great job! All the best to you and your family. Hang in there. *hug* :)

katelyn: Welcome Aboard! Keep going. :) Make sure you don't skimp on your lemonade. Drink at least the minimum of 6. But if you're getting faint, drink more often.

jane429: Be sure you follow the mixing instructions.
For a 32 oz container it should be 6 TBLE of lemon juice
6 TBLE of maple
And fill up to the 30 oz mark with water.

Tanyazl1: Great job!!! :)

timandnastu:Welcome Aboard!!:D

lovethebigdogs: I sent you a PM. Public pools are nasty.

alyvnwell: Yeah I hear you about wanting it over. lol. Good for you though for sticking it out to Day 10. Even going 2 more days is going to make a big difference. You'll see. ;)

Offbase Buddy!! ;) Yeah the food dreams are bizarre. Have you had your thyroid tested? I'm a slower loser too and it's due to a thyroid issue. Hang in there buddy, you're doing GREAT! :D

colibrimhs: This is the place to get it all out! It helps, doesn't it. ;) GREAT JOB!

cleanse3: That's another amazing benefit of cleansing. You find yourself analyzing your relationship with food and come to some pretty severe conclusions. IT's all for the best though. So many people who have cleansed report back that they've changed their food lifestyle. Whether a little or alot it doesn't matter. We're much more aware after completing a cleanse. Cool huh? :)

Hey everyone :) Well day 5 is here and all is well. Yesterday was my first ''social' day and it wasn't so bad. Went to a cafe with a friend and could smell the coffee and not be bothered by his hot chocolate and a cookie, while I sipped mint tea. I even went go the grocery store and wasn't toooo tempted...lol

I've started having mild sinus drainage and it feels like my skin is starting to break out (which never happens). Bought limes to change it up today, and looking forward to continuing this experience. I'm down 7.4 lbs which feels great. It's not my primary reason for cleansing but love the benefits as I want to lose weight anyway.

Have a beautiful Sunday all, and stay tough today! :)

Thanks again,
Margaret

Its no trouble at all! I LOVE to help! I do follow her rules about food combining and I find them to be very effective! In other words, on a raw diet I eliminate about 4 times a day following her rules!
Although I own a juicer I was not making my own juices, juice bar down the street. I plan to start doing it myself now. Some recipes (juliano's raw uncook book) call for some types of pulp. YOu use carrot pulp in his to make a crust so I would save that. Otherwise I probably don't plan to save mine.
Let me know if you need anything else!

:) Hi all,

I am new and this is my 1st post and was my 1st MC, but I have been reading everyone's posts throughout my cleanse. It has been a huge help. Whenever I got bored or hungry, I came online and read posts and I'd be okay.

I just finished doing 10 days and I am on my 2nd day ease out. It went great and I hope to do it again for 10 days at the end of March. Is that too soon?

1st ease out day, I was very tired and groggy. I was going to bed at 10pm and waking up around 5 or 6 on the cleanse w/ alot of energy though. It took another 3 hour nap to snap me out of it.
I drank OJ with some diluted water and was fine. I also had some watermelon and melon throughout the day with no issues at all. I ate about 6 small cubed peices at a time. I lost another pound as well.

2nd day ease out... great. I woke up w/ energy and rejuvenated again. I hope this keeps up.
I plan to make my soup today...I can't wait. I also took my Probiotic this AM.

Goodluck to everyone

thin4life: Here's something to think about. You do and do and do for your family. And that's good -it's what we all do. But who does for you? You do. This cleanse is about you. Your family isn't starving. They are able to make food for themselves, right? They just don't want to. Can they do the cleanse for you? No, You have to. This is *your* time and you deserve it. They won't die. ;)

Edit: Tea, if you're using smooth move, try "Get Regular" instead. I'm not a huge fan of smooth move either.

[QUOTE=Bella33;65895]OffBase, the "eating and feeling guilty for breaking the cleanse" dreams are so funny! I've had two so far. I must say it's always a relief to wake up and realize you're still on track.

I've had those same dreams many times! But usually within the dream (before I wake up) I have another dream within the dream that I realize that it was a dream. :p Last night I dreamed that someone gave me a handful of granola. I told them I couldn't have it and went to throw it away. But somehow it ended up in my mouth instead. I freaked out and went someplace to spit it all out. I remember rinsing my mouth with water in a panic and had trouble getting all the little pieces out of my mouth and I was so worried that I would swallow a few by mistake. :p I must really be worried I'm going to eat something "by mistake".

I'm on Day 9 (of 20) - yeah!!! Chilly as always and really long for a hot bath. My water system is such that it's nearly impossible (I live in a small town in Mexico), but I may try it today anyway.

My friends are arriving today and will be camping at the campground down the street for a month or so. I'm sure they'll be supportive (unlike many....), but hanging out at cocktail/snack hour with them is gonna be tough! Looking forward to Yoga tomorrow evening...:)

:DHave a great day, lemonheads!:D

Hello! I am new to this forum and I have a question hopefully someone can answer for me and help give me some insight. I started the MC Jan 1 ; this is my 2nd cleanse. I am now on day 18 . The first 10 days I was losing anywhere between 1/2 to 2 lbs a day. So by day 12 I had lost app. 14 lbs. On day 12 , i started my menses. Friday was my last day of the menses. It is now sunday the 18 and since mon the 12th I have not lost a single pound. Is this common? The first 10 days I was alternating the SW in the morning with the laxative tea. I thought this might be the problem so for the past 3 days I have been doing the SW every morning and of course the lax tea at night. I also increased my water intake. I can stand to lose 40 pounds so the problem is not me being very underweight. (cuz I AM NOT) Regardless of the weight loss.. or none.. I am continuing till jan 31.

I have been drinking 6 glasses of LA a day, utilizing 3 tablespoons of maple syrup and between 3 to 6
lemons a day. My tongue is close to half way clear.

My plans after the cleanse is to eat vegetarian , I wont call it a diet because it is not... it is a way of life. I wish I had looked into vegetarianism and the MC so many years ago. I prob could have avoided gall bladder surgery and many other little health problems.. But it is never too late to start is it?

My next question is, I will be completing Jan 31.My husband and I are setting off to Mexico on a pilgrimmage on Feb 7th, and I want to be able to eat when we are down there. If my tongue isnt compl clear by the time we leave, I would like to get back on the fast afterwards till my tongue clears out. How soon after Jan 31 can I start another MC?

Well, thank you for listening! And Happy squeezing!

Day 18. 3 more days and I'm switching to juices to build up some nutrition while continuing to fast for weight loss.
Down 13lbs.
1.5lb loss from yesterday. Entered the next decade today. :)
Woke up with a throbbing headache. Probably due to the fact I didn't have a good SWF yesterday. It didn't work much at all.
Coughed up some mucus..most of it still stuck in my throat. It probably wouldn't be there if I didn't skip the cayenne the past week. But I had to, one tiny speck of cayene accidentally hitting a cankersore is like suicide.
It's snowing. Hopefully they actually plow and I'm not suck inside all day. I can't wait to move.

I highly recommend the straw tactic with the SWF. I always use a straw and I find I can drink the salt water a lot faster and easier with it. I can usually finish the quart in about ten minutes or so.

It's Day 7 for me and I'm feeling really good. I feel like I've turned the corner and can see the end of the cleanse coming on Wednesday night. I'm glad I did this in January. I really love the heavier foods of fall and winter like beef stews and turkey and stuffing. I enjoyed them all right through the holidays and now I can feel like I'm done with them for now. I'm pulling out my vegetarian cookbooks and planning new menus for next week.

By the way, I too am having dreams of accidentally breaking my fast. In one I somehow bit a cupcake and was trying to get the frosting out of my mouth before I swallowed it. Bizarre!

Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone! I haven't been active on the board lately, but I am currently on Day 11. I wasn't sure how long I wanted to go this time, just see where it led me and what felt right. This cleanse has been very different from my previous ones - I just seemed to sail through it. I didn't have any cravings, or even "the chills". My body just seemed to settle right into it. I didn't do a cleanse at all last season, so I think my body just really welcomed having a cleanse again. The only real cleanse "symptoms" I've had were dreams last night about eating bear claws - in great detail: picking off each slivered almond and eating it, scooping out the filling and licking it off my finger. LOL!!

Here's my question:
- And this question is for members who have done multiple cleanses -
What do you think of going off the cleanse for a juice day and then going right back on?
You see, there are going to be several celebrations on Tues. as people watch the inaugeration. I want to be part of the celebration, and just don't want to stand there with my sad little lemonade, the same as every other day. That would just feel like deprivation instead of celebration. Just having orange juice instead would make me feel more like a part of the crowd. It would be different if it were just a regular party - but this is an historic occasion. I don't want to look back on it and say, "yeah, I didn't celebrate, I was on the Master Cleanse." Do you think drinking watered down orange juice for a day then going back to the lemonade would mess up my digestion and mental attitude too much? I don't usually get stomach cramps, if I rush going off the cleanse, but I have never tried going half off it and then returning to it. Should I just continue with the transition process and go onto broth the next day?

Would love to hear experienced members ideas on the physical and mental aspects of this.

Thanks.:)

Hi Sierramagic. I've done all sorts of variations of the MC before. In my opinion and experience - juice is juice. Fasting is fasting. I'll be switching over to juices like carrot/apple/beet this week just like I did last fast and it works fine for me. Orange juice more than likely won't hurt you.

I have a 12, 15 and 17 year old . One of my big concerns is where is all this skin going to go...... yuk!
-

Dear thin4life -

Your post really moved me - I can relate to so much of it. My children are 24, 22, and 18. the 22 & 18 year olds are still living at home. They are young men who are healthy and athletic and cannot relate to the Cleanse at all. When people see my daughter (the oldest) they always say how much we look alike - and it always surprises me because I don't even see how they can recognize any part of my beautiful, vibrant, daughter in old, tired, fat me. Right now she is the age I was when I gave birth to her, and I look back on those pictures, and wonder what happened that I lost so much hope that I stopped caring about my appearance. Like you, I am going through financial difficulties - cut backs at work, and also no child support payments to help make the rent for the first time in 13 years. I have lost two good friends recently - the first of my age cohort to go - and it has me thinking I may not have too much time left to get my life in order.

My first Master Cleanse was 2 years ago. I kept going on cleanses that year and lost 50 lbs. I kept it off for a year and a half by going on periodic MCs, and felt pretty good. I had returned to school to get an advanced degree, and last Fall semester was so stressful for me that I could not do a cleanse and started eating fast food in the car as I rushed from one place to another, plus stress eating, so I gained 30 back. Now that I am back on the cleanse, I have lost 14 of it and hope to continue getting myself back on track this year.

My stomach skin is pretty loose and I also have stretch marks. So I wonder if, even after getting down to my "ideal" weight, if I will still be too repulsive to ever feel pretty again. I have been rubbing cocoa and shea butter on my stomach and my breasts (so that skin won't get too loose and make them really sag) and don't know if it will help. I figure the more moist and supple the skin is, maybe the more elastic it will be and bounce back a little better? It's a theory. I would love to hear from anyone who has experience with this.

My best wishes for your success. You are in my mind and prayers.

Lynda

Wow, two weeks is Ggrrrreeeaatt! I don't know how long I'll go. (I like Green Goat's method and that is just to skate through without a specific goal!) BUT, At least ten days. I really would like to go until the Chinese New Year 26th, which would be two weeks. OR until I hit 130 lbs so when my weight does flexuate, it stay's in the 130's. Than on to raw foods with some indulging in veggie burgers on Ezeckial bread maybe on the weekends and steamed veggies and a baked potatoe...At least until I get more raw food recipes under my belt.

You did great not to lick a spoon! I had did that too (stayed perfectly good) while cooking over Christmas and cleansing but it did contribute to me ending the cleanse sooner rather than later. As I see you are doing ;) It felt like I was on such a roll but I just had to have some of that stuffing I made with all the veggies in it (new food processor)! Than when I ate, I really didn't feel like it was worth ending the cleanse over. I still haven't ordered those books but I will here in the next day or so. The only thing you mentioned that really sounded good was the coconut macaroon crust (and I'm thankful for that!). I really would like to keep in touch. I don't know too many raw foodists.
http://www.youtube.com/KimberleeMelissa I've been video blogging on this cleanse!

Good job Lynda, keep in touch, and be good to yourself while in the transition phase! Kim

Hi 1stMC4me -
The reason I went on my very first cleanse was that a very healthy and intelligent friend recommended it. She told me that on the last few days of her 10 day cleanse she passed some gallstones. They were small, and she believed that the cleanse dissolved them to a size small enough for her body to pass by itself without a doctor's help. If you believe you have gallstones, I would strongly recommend you stay on the cleanse another few days to see if you can pass them naturally. The MC isn't going to CAUSE gallstones - it's bad dietary habits that would do that ! The cleanse has probably just heightened your body awareness, so that you can feel the symptoms of having them. Just my non-medical opnion.

No major BM's, just watery and this is my first cleanse.
When should I expect a breakthrough?

Day 7

Good day all! I started out with the SWF again today as I did yesterday. Yesterday I had a CPR class in the afternoon and this afternoon (when the tea would kick in) I have a 3.5 mi. walk-date. I tried to guzzle the tea because I was making a video and no sooner got it down that it came right back up. As I used my jar to catch it in I know how much was lost, 50%! Anyway, I'm calling it good on that! No more Salt today and probably at least for the next three days at least. I'm not adding the video so, don't worry! I think my body calls for a little adjusting on the salt but am not sure which way to go on it, up or down. The thing is that I retain water on the SWF and don't seem to lose weight until switching to the tea twice daily. I did hear from another MCer on you tube to do the swf at least every three days though for 'best results' Maybe I should pop on over the the SWF thread for some more ideas. And, slow down when I drink it! and yes, I drink it with a straw.

Wow Res, 18 days!!! You mentioned that you are a dairy girl in one of your posts past. Carol Alt has some great raw food books and she is a dairy girl too! I just got hers from the library!

It's so wonderful reading everyone's posts!
Love to all!

Hi there geetar1968!

The weight loss you experienced during those first 12 days is actually fairly uncommon, and the "stall" after that is quite common! If you keep with it, the weight will start to come off again, though probably more slowly than at first. In general, my own experience is that I lose rapidly at first, then plateau for a while, then lose, and in the end it's almost always 1/2 pound per day on average. I think you might end up with better results than that, though, even with your stall. Good for you for hanging in there.

The rule is to cleanse no more than 3 or 4 times a year, with at least two months in between. After having done such a long cleanse, it's all the more important to give your body a chance to build up nutrients. I would not suggest starting another one until April at the earliest. Be sure to transition very gradually from this one, and try hard not to get into "vacation" mode afterwards. :p

Congratulations on what you've done so far and what I know you'll do for the rest of the month!

day 5 and im feeling great!!

i woke up this morning and had to go to the bathroom before my swf. my eliminations had some solid matter in them this morning, but are now completely liquid. is that normal to be solid in the morning?

also i have a question about the cayenne pepper. i drink my la throughout the day instead of in one sitting, i dont really like the cayenne in there and the longer it sits, the hotter it gets. i have heard of people doing just a 'shot' of cayenne in water in between lemon drinks, is this okay to do or will it not have the same effect?

i cant imagine it being any different, either way youre getting the cayenne right?

Hi katelyn and welcome!

Yes, pretty much anything that comes out of you on the cleanse is normal. :) Usually it's mostly liquid after the first few days, but solids can show up at any time too. Not to worry.

What you describe for the cayenne could probably be okay for some of the time, but because the cayenne actually starts working in the mouth, it's best to have some with each lemonade. What some people do is mix up the lemonade in advance but add the cayenne just before drinking each glass. That way it doesn't heat up.

Happy cleansing!

Hi katelyn -
Yes the solids in your eliminations are normal - it's one of the things that makes me believe so strongly in the MC ! Sometimes, days after you've eaten any solids - something solid will show up in your morning eliminations! For me, at least, the solids are always a dark color - not at all the color of my usually eliminations (which are the color of the lemonade/maple syrup/cayenne mixture before I add the water). I am convinced that the MC has loosened up and eliminated some blockage in my intestines - either that or toxins locked in my fat have been released and brought to my colon for elimination. Either way - good riddance !!!

As for the cayenne - the lemonade formula has specific ratios for the lemon juice, m.s., and water, but the cayenne can be adjusted "to taste" as per Burroughs. I have always done less than the recommended amount and have still had great results. For some reason, I can handle more cayenne in limeade with agave than in lemonade with m.s.

Thank you - I will try that tea and thanks for the encouragement - still going strong day 14 today. Today is the day when we always sit down as a family and plan the weekly schedule and meals out so I will re enforce the need to my family for me to complete this with their support. My tongue doesn't feel near as filmmy gross today so maybe I am nearing the end. Time will tell and looking forward to a warm cleansing epson bath tonight!

hello all. this is my first time, first day. I am a mere 3 hours into it, have drank about 3 pints of the lemonade and I have myself a headache. I did not know about the salt flush---none of my friends who have done this cleanse have mentioned it. Im wondering if you are supposed to drink it every morning? Is laxative tea really necessary if you have regular bowel movements? They are usually too harsh for my body and cause cramping. Best of luck to everyone.

Lemonluv~ Yes, it is very important to do the lax tea at night and the saltwater flush in the Morning...I'm wondering since you got the info from your friends if that means you have not read the book to get the exact instructions and lemonade recipe/amounts...you really would benefit from ordering Peter's book and reading it...it explains everything! my only problem is that i mix it up in a 24 oz water bottle each time instead of doing individual glasses.

i guess i'll just suck it up and have the spicy drink. ;)

Your question on Thyroid intriged me - I have had a thyroid problem for 15 years and never have seemed to get it under control - my doctor never wanted to put my synthroid as high as I felt it should go and I have been off now for some time and hoping that this cleanse will heal it so I can start fresh. Any suggestions?

MC 2 Day 7
Hello everyone! Hope everyone is having a good day today! Yesterday was awful!!! I'm thinking I must have been having an emotional detox!!! :( I literally cried almost all day and was soooo depressed and thinking of everything that is bothering me and been going wrong lately...my poor hubby just sat and listened to me cry and talk it all out! Poor guy! I also wasn't feeling good and had terrible lower back pain! Today I woke up with a headache, but it has mostly gone away now and I'm not feeling as depressed. I've been able to cook dinners/cookies/banana nut muffins this morning for my kids!!/etc this entire cleanse with no problems. Everything smells great, but no real desire to eat out of hunger...just desire to eat because it tastes good! :p I've not really been hungry this cleanse. So that's nice! My first cleanse I felt I was starving! All in all, doing good. I think I'm having harder detox symptoms this time because I have really upped the cayanne pepper in my drinks...it burns going down, but the results have been really worth it!!! ;)

Hello all...
I am new to the board I just want to say how inspiring you guys are! I am on DAY 7 and this is my first MC. I have to admit--yesterday was rough. I went with my bf to a family party and I was bombarded with an abundance of delicious Peruvian food. While everybody was eating, I sneaked out and went online and onto this site to keep me focused---SO THANK YOU ALL FOR THAT :)

Today I feel a little fatigued but I know from Peter's book that Day 7 is one of the rough days.
I have lost 9 lbs so far, my skin is clear, and I definitely feel more mentally focused.

Again just thanks again for this board and good luck to you all :D

I read Burroughs book and another book on the MC but perused Peter's in Barnes & Noble yesterday. It's really the best one I've seen so far. Good Q&A sections, lots of his own experiences and a real handbook for doing the cleanse. I can't recommend it enough (and yes, I bought it!)

Good afternoon lemonheads! Day 18 for me and I am so thankful I made it to today. Yesterday was the worst day of the cleanse for me. All day long I considered stopping the cleanse, couldn't get the lemonade down. Finally at 7 pm I went to bed before I ate something. I woke up this morning feeling Sooooooo much better and thankful I didn't give in and quit yesterday. What a difference a day makes. I was able to work out this morning and having no problem with the lemonade today. I have never had the experience of wanting to quit so bad so late in a cleanse before. What's up with that?

Keep going strong everyone.
