View Full Version : 2009: What day are you on and how are you doing?

Today is day 6. :) After all these days of uneventful tea, I was determined to make it happen. So I double bagged last night, steeped covered for 20 minutes and drank it up at about 9:30PM. Drank water until I went to bed at midnight and slept like a baby until I woke up this morning at 6:30. Ran to the bathroom and finally--results!!! HOORAY!!!
Altogether so far, definitely not as much eliminating this second cleanse, but maybe today will be the turning point. I've only lost 5 pounds but I feel 20 pounds lighter and my clothes seem to fit better. Feeling great today, full of energy and very positive about everything.
First 3 days were BRUTAL. Beside the headache, I felt so hungry and deprived--there was still holiday partying going on around me through the weekend--I was SO annoyed with myself for starting the cleanse on Jan 2nd instead of waiting until Monday, Jan 5th. Next cleanse I will think the timing through more carefully. I have a feeling your disposition in general is very much related to how easily you eliminate.
That's all for now. Have a great day, everybody! This is such a great board--thank you all for sharing!! :) :)

I am on day 2 and feeling good. Worked out this morning.
However, last night I got violently ill (on day one) - vomit, severe head ache, cold sweats. I can only imagine it was almost like going through withdrawals off drugs. The only drug I take is Starbucks.
Anyone else have this - will it come back again?
How we react on the cleanse is pretty unpredictable. Different for different people, and different for each of us on different days or different cleanses.
However, that said, it's not very likely that you'll have such dramatic detox symptoms again this cleanse. But you never can tell. You did just right--simply lasted them out and went on to feeling good the next day!

Do you consider "the 10th day" to be the actual 10th day? That sounds like a silly question, but I mean... if you start on the 4th (and count the 4th as the 1st day) then you would be done on the 13th... but 4 + 10 = 14, so wouldn't the 14th be the actual 10th day? When you look at the calander, would you put your finger on the 4th and say day 1... put your finger on the 5th and say day 2. Or would you say okay, I started on the 4th so the 5th is 1, the 6th is 2... etc.
Regardless of what the calendar says, I consider the first day to be the first day that starts with the SWF (having had the tea the night before). Does that answer your question?

I have decided not to continue with the cleanse. This is just not working for me. After 5 days of complete misery and no eliminations convinces me that it is not an effective cleansing tactic for me.
jL
Awwww jackLemon, I feel your pain. I agree with swf2go, you are so going to reap the benefits of these last 5 days. If you go through the board, you will notice there are plenty of repeat cleansers who at some point, for a variety of reasons, only cleansed for 5 days in the past. So if you do stop today, still think of your 5 day cleanse as a success! All the best to you and maybe after a while, you may reconsider a better time for you to try the cleanse again.

Good Afternoon Everyone!
I'm on Day 6 and feeling great! I really love this board, especially during an active cleanse. I turned a friend on to it who has also been cleansing for a few years but never knew a discussion forum like this existed. I told him how much it helps - encourages actually!Whenever I'm feeling weak or get a craving I grab some lemonade and log in.
I haven't weighed myself since I started on January 2nd. But I'm very curious so I think I may stop by the gym tonight and weigh myself (I like to use the same scale). I have noticed that this time around I'm not passing solids as much as I have in previous cleanses. But I do drink the smooth move tea about once a week, so perhaps that's been keeping me a little cleaner inside.
A lot of people on the board complain about the taste of the smooth move, but it isn't all that bad to me. I just drink it down. And its sometimes nice to have a different 'taste' in my mouth other than the lemonade. As far as the SWF, I just gulp it down. Takes less than a minute. Why torture myself with sipping, lol.
Wishing everyone a great day and a happy, productive cleanse!

Hey, my friend and I started this cleanse on Sunday the 4th, so we are on our 4th day...so far it is going really well with one exception...last night after several "waste" moments in the bathroom i've developed a pretty nasty hemoroid...it is really uncomfortable and i'm having a hard time sitting at work...any suggestions?
Also, i was under the impression that we could also drink water during the day...is this true or can we just drink the lemonaide drink? If we can drink water, is there a limit on how much?

Find the largest stall. I do 20 of these each time. It gets the blood going which should aid in detox and re-energizes me although I leave panting. :)

Use Vitamin E Oil
Apply fresh Aloe Vera from the cactus.

MC2D3 well today is still going pretty good...the Get Regular didn't stay true to the theory and managed to get me out of bed twice last night ugh...maybe its the steep time - the 1st night I prob steeped less than 5 minutes whereas last night I was laughing and watching Scrubs I lost track of time and steeped for like 10:eek: well tonight I'll try the less than 5 minute trick and let you guys know if that helped any... I haven't had any trouble with the eliminations they are pretty consistent throughout the day. I can't wait for tomorrow so far everyone's lunch in the office smells great. MC1 I couldn't stand the smell of a cheeseburger on day 3 :( - Tomorrow will be so much better and easier besides I have already gone down 7lbs :D As for my fiance he almost cracked yesterday and ate a banana but his daughter ran to the kitchen grabbed the banana and told him NOOOO it was Hilarious - her argument Bel did it before and she's a girl..... ROCK ON LADIES ROCK ON - Keep up the good work everyone we can do it!

I am feeling very discouraged today.:( My husband started with me, but quit last night. So I am still on it, but wrestling every hour on whether or not to just quit. My husband found out yesterday that he will be getting shoulder surgery on the 16th, a day after we were to finish 10 days. He didn't want to continue with the cleanse because he will be putting all those drugs into his body a day after finishing, so has decided to do it again after his surgery. Do I quit and restart with him? Or keep going by myself? It's hard when you have a family of 3 eating around you!
But, I'm not cold today, and my face has broken out horribly! I definetly need to cleanse!:o

Hello MCers! This is my third MC in the past 1.5 yrs. I am on day 3 and feel pretty good. My starting weight was 163 and I'm down to 156 already.
I love, love, love watching the lbs shave right off. None of my friends believe me about how much energy and how good the body feels doing this MC.
My plan is to go 10 days as I have friends coming to town to visit.....but would like to try longer I will play it day by day.
I really enjoy reading the posts on the website regarding progress on the cleanse...keeps me motivated.
Stay Strong~

i asked this with my post but the hemorioid comment probably stopped people from seeing the 2nd question :-)
I was under the impression that i could drink however much water with the diet drink that i wanted...is this correct? I like having water between drinks of the lemonaid and really hope i'm not incorrect in this assumption...can i just drink water throught the day without worry?

Good Day to all,
I successfully did the Master Cleanse in May 2007 for 14 days. The results were awesome. Since then, I've gained back the weight, due to bad eating habits once again. I've also attempted the Cleanse, but never get pass Day 1 or 2.
Thankfully, I'm almost at the end of Day 3. I am 5'7" and started at 210lbs. My aim is to lose 40lbs which, based on my last experience will take about 25 days. Apart from the occassional craving, I am feeling good. I also encouraged a co-worker, and this is her first cleanse. We've been encouraging each other.
This is a great site. Good luck to everyone. Will keep you posted.
Best regards

Hi Res!
I feel so special now, I've never rcvd a response to my post before, lol.
I've only committed myself to the 10 days. After that, it will be day by day (less pressure that way). I believe this is my 5th cleanse, full one anyway. I've found that you really have to be in the right frame of mind to begin or its really tough going.
I really don't mind the tea at all, as weird as that may sound...guess I'm just an oddball :p

Hi All,
Well I was busy the past couple days and checked the board a few times to keep me going, it helped.
Im on day 6, MC 3 and I have had the strangest cleanse this time. I have a roomate now and didn't on the other 2 times. I had very few detox symptoms day 2 and 3, usually my worst days, and so i did yoga and swam, then day 4 and 5 I was having cravings and was quite tired! My roomate thinks im crazy doing the cleanse and she keeps cooking and leaving food out. I had a dream the 1st night about bread and butter, I mentioned it in passing to her and I have noticed bread and butter on the kitchen counter all week.Well I am proud of myself for haning in there with the temptations, but can really feel for all of you that have to cook and be around others that are eating in the house. It makes the cravings worse to be around foods. My previous cleases were in August and I have to say it is much nicer to be cold then! Fasting in the winter is for the BEARS!!!LOL. Well im working the most of the week and there is lots of food around work too, its just not as tempting because I'm busy.
Today my energy is better and not having cravings. Hopefully the rest of the week will be like today! good luck to all!

NO, you are aren't. I didn't feel energetic until the 8th day. The 7th day sucked for me. The 8th was awesome. Yesterday was sucky a little as I was very tired and freezing. I get a few headaches here and there, and then they'll go away in a few hours. Today (10th day) is another awesome one. My tongue is still pasty white. I'm going longer though, so we will see. And, I've had solid bms the whole time. Like this morning, I had 3 before my SWF....weird huh. So I'm in the fatigue boat with ya, hand in there!:)

Hello everyone. Today is Day 4 of my FIRST master cleanse. My boyfriend and I started on January 4th and plan on going for 10 days. He's done it before, and so far, it hasn't been NEARLY as horrid as he's described it to be.
So far, I haven't felt any of those super intense "changes" or "cravings" that people are mentioning, though I'm not discouraged b/c our main goal is to quit smoking, neither of us need to loose weight. I daydream about salad and rice and beans. A little apprehensive about us becoming TOO thin, but apparently that's not possible.
I am intrigued by the way I am able to smell food with such emotional detatchment. Neighbors were grilling burgers the other night, but I was able to subtly appreciate the smell with out getting all panicky and irratible. Amazing!
10 days just seems like such an awfully long time.....

Hello Fellow MCRS, today is day 7 for me and my husband. I have been doing the cleanse 3 - 4 times a year for the past 4 years. None of them have been the same! I can say that before I started doing the cleanse I was at the doctor once a month with sinus infections and stomach problems. I can honestly say that I have had not one sinus infection (no more antibiotics) and my stomach problems are gone. I am a true believer in the cleanse. This cleanse was hard the first 4 days I had a killer headache and back aches that would not go away. My mood was bordering depressed. Today I have finally come out of it and feel great once again. I urge all the newbies to keep going, you will never feel better in your life. I am planning on going 17 days this timne. Longest is 23, I long for the time I can do 30 but it will have to be in the summer when it is warm outside and being cold isn't so bad. I wish good health to you all.:)

Hey Guys!
How is everyone doing? Day 3 for me, I can't wait till today is over. I found that the first 3 days are the hardest and then after that it is not a big deal... I am feeling much better today, yesterday I was so lethargic. I just started volunteering at a soup kitchen and serving lunch to the homeless. I am committed to doing it once a week and today was my day.
The chef that cooks the food there is a 5 star chef and has been all over the world. Menu today, stuffed bell pepper with beef and rice on a breaded veal pattie with a side of rotini pasta, topped with marinara and cheese. I don't even eat that stuff (vegan and raw) but it looked and smelled so good I wanted to die! I got through it and went right to my office to make my lunch...lemonade!
I am already in the butt pee stage, no more solid bm's. I was ready that wayne had a solid bm on day 8. I can't believe that! I definitely think you should hang with us a bit longer. Once you get to where you are at, it is easy to go 2 or 3 weeks... You feel better and better as time goes on.

Regardless of what the calendar says, I consider the first day to be the first day that starts with the SWF (having had the tea the night before). Does that answer your question?
Stop wondering! Put your finger back on the 4th day of the calendar. That's the first day. Walk your way to the 10th day--that's the 13th! Done.
Thanks guys!
I was also getting confused because I want to go for 2 weeks. I started Sunday the 4th, so I thought 2 weeks would make Sunday the 18th the last day, but it's actually day 15. I think I'm still going to go to the 18th.

Hi Everyone,
Todays been a hard day, working on someones computer and they had a heater on under their desk... thought I was going to pass out. Then stopped on my way to my next site to get a birthday card for a buddy and got dizzy while looking at cards. Don't know if it is detox or leftover crap from the cold I got just a couple of days before I started the MC.
Hi OTIS - (and Lynda) Betty09 and I must be full of &*%& cause we're both still poopin simi-regular poops at 10 days. I'm just doing tea at night and morning because of work, so my normal poop time moved to way late in the day. This morning though I needed to go, and it was more simi-regular... looked like my cat "Kitty Witty" had got up there and squeezed out a few cat biscuits. They were very dark too. When I looked at them I thought, "where in the hell did you come from?"
I'm betting if I didn't have to deal with fighting a RHINO virus during my MC, I'd be feel pretty good right now... right now... not so spiffy.

You are cracking me up with the cat biscuits! Hilarious!! I am kind of jealous. I hate butt pee. And it is very uncomfortable and burns at times. I did notice on my last cleanse I had butt pee the entire way through. I am kind of switching back and forth on the tea, one night chocolate smooth move and the next regular smooth move. Trying to keep it fresh... You are right around the corner from feeling fantastic. go for it!

Res and SWF2GO, thanks for the replies. I am not having any problems myself with the SWF I was just concerned in my previous post about all of the others on here that seem to be having little to no elimination and going, what seems, overboard on the amound of salt. I've never really had an issue with it so I feel bad for those of you who do. I did re-read through the book and there is no variance on the recipe.
1 quart lukewarm water (not-tap water)
2 level tsp non-iodized sea salt (rounded for the Canadian Qt.) FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.
"If the salt water does not work the first time, try adding a little more or a little less salt until the proper
balance is found; or possible take extra water with or without salt."
I use Morton's Sea Salt from Wal-Mart and it works good for me.
Day 3 MC5 for me and I feel great again today. None of my cleanses have been this easy the first three days. If it continues like this, I'll have to keep going. I was 191.5 Sunday night before I drank my Smooth Move and I am 184.5 this morning pre SWF. I'm a little ahead of schedule of my normal 1.5 lbs. per day.
I HATE the Smooth Move!!! That stuff is RANK. I tried the chocolate just to see if I liked it better, but it was even worse the than the normal stuff. I know its weird but I would rather do the SWF than the Smooth Move.
Anyone else never had their tongue change during their cleanse? In all 5 of my cleanses, mine has never really changed much.
I've never cleansed in January...Man, it takes a long time to read the posts from the last login. It's so great to see all the encouragement and humor. It's great to see Wayne on here as there usually aren't many men posting.

I'm on day three. I cheated a teeny tiny bit. I had a teaspoon of almond butter. Surely that didnt sully the whole thing right? I'm already in butt pee stage! haha, it so gross to talk about but amazing seeing this cleanse at work. This is my first cleanse. I'm a healthy eater so I havent experienced any rough side effects. I think i may have experienced slight cramping last night but I was sleeping.. it must not have been that bad then.
Anyways, if the butt pee turns clear before day 10 does that mean I'm clean and can stop early?

Okay, this is an interesting development. After 10 days of feeling great, today around 1pm I suddenly felt like I'd had the life sucked out of me. Tired, listless...absolutely no energy. I went and laid down on the couch for a while, napped for a few minutes and I feel marginally better, but not much. I really want to push beyond 10 days, but this is making it hard. All I can think about is eating real food. Maybe I'm finally hitting some real detoxing? My tongue hasn't begun to shift back to pink yet.
I cancelled the class I was supposed to go to tonight. The way I feel I'd never make it through. Going back to the couch now...

I'm on Day 9. I'm so happy that tomorrow is my last day of the cleanse. My tongue is probably about 70% back to pink now. I feel better today than yesterday. Reeeeeallly looking forward to Saturday, when I can actually EAT something. I hope the OJ fills me up when I am doing the Ease Out.

Today is my first day. I would put myself in the "Taking it Easy" category as I am 264 lbs. and am 5'4". My question is: You recommend drinking only the minimum of 6 drinks of lemonade each day and then you say to drink enough additional water so that you have at least one ounce of water or lemonade for each two lbs. of body weight each day. The "water or lemonade" confused me, should I limit myself to the 6 glasses of lemonade. I have no other health problems to date.
No the book say the 6 glasses are the minimum you can do. But you can do more if you get hungry. The water alone is additional.
Good luck!:D

Day 3 (yesterday) was alight. I was cold, had to put on a winter coat at work. Craved chocolate, seitan and TVP. I drank 1.5 gallons of water on top of 1/2 gallon of lemonade. Burned 500 cals on the elliptical..
I updated my You Tube video with day 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUZvViIF3Ec).
I got a question for you guys.
Or would you say okay, I started on the 4th so the 5th is 1, the 6th is 2... etc.
That might sound stupid, but it's something I've always wondered.
I Believe day one starts the mornig after the first tea drink. Whatever that day falls on. Happy juicing

MC2 Day3
I am feeling very discouraged today.:( My husband started with me, but quit last night.
Please dont quit :eek:my sister quit on me yeasterday I am on day three as well I will do it with ya:)

AAHH-I came out here looking for encouragement. I found that and a few laughs as well!:o thanks to all of you.
I am on day 5, this is my 5th cleanse and find that this time day 4 and 5 have been the worst. I am craving weird 1950's hamburger and macronni casserols that I haven't had since i was like 9 years old! Wow-maybe I have been storing these toxins for like 35 years!
I forgot that the book said a minimum of 6 glasses and I have only been doing 4 - just not hungry. BUT -- I bet that is why I feel so crappy and want to eat the paint off the wall! So, I am going to increase to 6 glasses and see if that helps.
Keep on keeping on!

MC1 Day7
I stopped yesterday. Taking the advise of someone on here I did the SWF on night 5 instead of the tea. Bad idea. I was up all night eliminating. Which wasn't good I had to be on the job at 7AM. When ever I would drift off to sleep I would wake running to the bathroom. I had to make frequent stops while on the road today. Which was something I couldn't afford to do. Transporting documents, people, etc is a large part of my job. I can't afford to be late. This cleanse started out on a good note. Unfortunately I can't continue due to my job obligations.
Good luck to those of you still on. Maybe when I rack up overtime I'll do it and take a few days of.
Until then blessing to all.
Blessing, Love & Happiness,
Somethings that I have noticed which are different; my kidneys seem to be very active, slight pain and heat. A little bit of body ache. Eyes are dry, hands are stiff, and skin is getting softer.
Day 4
Alex my kidneys are also active.. and achy. The SWF is not working for me and I feel very discouraged. Though when I read everyone's posts I have hope for tomorrow. I'm thinking I am not drinking enough water.. But do have concern that I am holding in the salt water- which I am told by a medical doc is not good for your body. I also have increased my laxative tea..
I put a little maple syrup in the laxative tea and a little less in the lemonade. This works for me.
I also don't find the SWF s bad anymore. Sometimes I make it warm, but this AM drink it room temp.
I'M S O JEALOUS OF ALL OF THAT HAVE SUCH AN EASY TIME OF ELIMINATION!!:D My body feel right now like it really needs to shed all the gunk!!! Having this website is keeping me from quiting..

Aww Smiles, hang in there. It's par for the course ya know. ;) Bath and tea! What a lovely thing to read. :)
Lin: You're a sweetie. :) Congrats on reaching Day 10. Funny isn't it how when you hit that particular day you could really quit but nah....:D
Betty: Wayneman and Otis - Yeah, pooping solids is fun, but butt pee is so much more fun cause there's no real noise so you can get by without a courtesy flush in public HAHAHAHA! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing013.gif
David: The Smooth moooove is blech. And don't even get me started on how they lure you in with the word "chocolate". The stuff tastes like what I imagine a used barn tastes like.
The swf along with the rest of the cleanse is just about trial and error. We don't want anyone having any *EXTRA* problems because detox is bad enough!
My tongue never changes - but I'm on thyroid medication.
We love the fact that the guys are participating and cleansing!! :D
CharmedMoon. Stopping early around here is Day 10 ;) Anything less and you haven't done the Master Cleanse. You can do it. C'mon now. :)
Vally: I make sure no one else is around because the exercise not only makes sound but causes one to breath hard. :o
You know Levy, these posts go by SO fast that I can't read each one. I'm sorry! And I'll be typing away responding to ya'll and when I hit post 2 more pages of posts have gone by but that's not all! I'm back at work and it's ruining my time on the board. :)
bwy7lde: Welcome aboard. :) I never eat french fries and guess what the first craving is when I cleanse? AND guess what the freeway smells like coming home from work? Right again. :o
Yes yes. I've guinea pigged myself alot on the cleanse. If you go below 6 drinks you stop losing weight and really toxins are in the fat which you want to lose to get rid of the toxins SO, drink at least 6.;)
By the way I'm so hungry this cleanse. Anyone want to go to lunch? ;)
NOT SURE HOW TO DO THE QUOTE THING??
Allso, I kind of worry about everyone that isn't eliminating with the SWF so they are increasing their salt so much (in one case, 3 times the recommended amount). I would think that this much salt would make the SWF so heavy that your body will try to process it instead of pass it. Burroughs says in his book if it isn't working to alter the salt amount (a little more or a little less) but it seems most people just keep trying more and more, but not less. The trick is to find the mixture that makes the water the same specific gravity as your blood so your kidneys can't pick up the water and the blood can't pick up the salt. Varying the salt too much more than 2 tsp per 32 oz would seem to get way out of range of what your blood's specific gravity is. I doubt it would be dangerous, but at most isn't helping at all and at least must taste terrible. Anyone have any comments on this?
Winbe... That is interesting about the specific gravity of your blood... how do you know?
I have tired 2teaspoons. 2.5 and 3teas. I will not go higher than 3teaspoons. Maybe drinking more water is the key???? I bet my blood pressure is higher...:( I probably should check it. and if it is .. then I know that I have absorbed the salt. Right??

I'm planning on starting the master cleanse on Sunday and going for 21 days, and my mom wants to do it as well.
I'm kind of scared, though! I'm horribly addicted to diet coke. I know it's bad for me and I want to stop, but I'm afraid of the withdrawal symptoms.
Anyone have any idea of what I can expect? Does aspartame have withdrawal symptoms or am I psyching myself up for nothing? I know I'm going to have caffeine withdrawals.
I'm vegan, so I already eat relatively clean but I want to use this cleanse to help break my addiction as well as give me more of an appreciation for fruits and veggies.

So I opened my new package of Cayenne which is a bit scary because it's the toxic orange color which means hot, hot, hot. I started reading;
Hot and pungent, cayenne complements many southwestern and Cajun dishes including crab and lobster. (I didn't know that!) It has been prized as a powerful medicine for thousands of years for it's healing powers (we all know that :D).
The little thermometer on the package shows it all the way up! There's no white folks. Just took a sip and it's definitely a YOWSA http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-shocked003.gif. Much hotter than the last from Mexico. This one is from India. Mmmm, India. ;)

Aloha,
I would like to thank everyone for there posts and encouranging words to everyone. I've decided to ease-out, my tongue is pink and never had any detox symptoms, no weight-loss so I figure I will ease-out and continue with 85-90 percent raw diet. When I decided to do it I was surprised that I made it past D1 and I'm proud of myself for going to D7 and I really don't feel defeated because I will be drinking OJ and water.

I am on day 4 of what I plan to be a 40 day cleanse. This is my 4th cleanse. I gave up caffeine during my first cleanse and had a horrible headache during days 2-5 which I thought were due to the caffeine withdrawal. I did not go back to caffeine so I was not expecting headaches during following cleanses. I have had a headache during days 2-5 of eachof the follwing cleanses, including this one. Why is this happening if I no longer use caffeine?

This is my second master cleanse and the first time I went only 7 days because I had a business engagement & Christmas was coming up so I knew I wouldn't really get anywhere. However, when I started I was so motivated because I was ready to get rid of my Rheumatoid Arthritis and be on a path to healthy life.
This time I started when I was sick and I feel like my attitude is really messed up.
Does anyone feel that way sometimes? I'm miserable and angry and I don't know why. I just have an overall bad attitude towards the cleanse.... I went 3 full days and just ate a tomato with lime.
I'm going to start again tomorrow.
Any encouraging words or enlightenment I would appreciate.
Thanks,

I started giggling when I got back on this site bc now I'm actually almost 24... so much for the sn!
This is my 2nd cleanse and I'm very excited. My start date was repeatedly delayed due to travel, so that was kinda a bummer. I tried to start on monday, but wasn't mentally or physically ready; so I took some fiber, ate a light dinner and started in earnest on tuesday. the difference in the two D1s was amazing! I'd wanted to go at least 14 days this time, but that isn't seeming very feasible, since I am flying across the country on day 10 and then staying with people... I'm just gonna keep at it and try to warn my hosts! :-)
I'm most of the way through D2 now and its almost embarrassingly easy! No problems except unpredictable (and loud!) bms and the desire for certain tastes, I wouldn't even go so far as to call them cravings. :-)
I have sorta let people know what was up with me this time and I'm not too pleased with that decision... during my first cleanse I'd only told 1-3 people (due to circumstances) until my 8th day, then I was so far in that i told a handful more. this time the judgment is hard to bear... I think the private time I took last time to cleanse and heal and think was probably part of the success, but I don't really have that luxury right now. :-( Life keeps going!!!!!!!!!
Best of luck to all!!!!

I'm on my 6th day and i've been doing great. i've never done anything so perfectly before. and i'm definitely detoxing; i've had several bowel movements every morning, haven't missed any of my laxative teas or salt water flushes iand i've broken out in a rash so i figure that means something's coming out. and i've been doing plenty of excersize, i'm in sports and have to condition from 1-2 hrs a day. but nonetheless, i've only lost about 3 lbs and it really annoys me. i'm wondering if maybe i've used too much salt because i've been using 2 tbsps instead of 2 tsps every morning (oops) and was wondering if maybe my body is retaining a lot of water because of all the sodium. its really wierd, i lost 2 and 1/2 lbs between sunday and monday and then gained back 1 and 1/2 lbs of it between monday and tuesday, maybe because my only excersize monday was 30 min of walking. but i'm frustrated. i also haven't been overdoing the amount of lemondade, i haven't even finished the amount i make in the morning for one day this whole time! any reasoning on this?

Bsheree: Do you eat chocolate or drink tea? What about soda? All have caffeine. Also keep in mind it's detox and the first 3 days are the worst. I kind of like to blame the environment when I can't pinpoint anything. ;) You can expect to feel a few of the following (but not always):
Increased joint or muscle pain
Headaches
Diarrhea
Extreme fatigue and/or its opposite, sleeplessness
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
Drop in blood pressure
Skin eruptions, including: boils, hives, and rashes. Note: skin eruptions are often misdiagnosed as allergic reactions, resulting in the premature cessation of the cleansing program.
Cold or flu-like symptoms
You may think that you actually feel worse or that the treatment is not working at all during a cleanse. Do not despair. These are all signs that your treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.
Such reactions are temporary and can occur immediately -- or within several days, or even several weeks, of a detox. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks.

Yikes Maystar!
Did you alter the amount down to 2tsp? You must have.
*Also never weigh in after you do the SWF. Wake up, pee (or whatever) and then weigh in before the swf. If the scale isn't friendly, take an account of how you feel in your clothes. We're all going to lose inches at some point and not weight - it's not actually a stall. The fat cells empty out and then collapse so your clothes fit better even though it doesn't *appear* that you've lost weight.

Maystar - I've been working out a lot and haven't lost as much as I'd thought I would (compared to my last MC). And like you, I sometimes can't finish the last of the day's lemonade - I too make it all at once. I'm starting to think that A. working out is some how connected to not losing as much and B. I'm not drinking enough lemonade. Starting tomorrow, I'm going to try to up my lemonade intake by at least one glass and see what happens.

Hi Everyone,
Sitting here drinking my dinner (lemonade). Yum. Doing tea at night and in the morning and my new schedule is like clock work. Tummy grugles in the afternoon followed by poopin Alien Blood and Butt Pee.
Boots - That's not a bad idea adding things back in and watching to see if some combos cause the Acid Reflux. However I think the main reason I have it is just because of being a Pork Butt. After my night with Heartburn from Hell I went back to takeing the meds for Acid Reflux been fine since.
Otis - Your soup kitchen sounds wonderful. I think at ours here they sit down and get a little menu that has things on it like... Avacado Pit with bits of green still on it, Tuna Can with flakes of tuna in the edges, Carton of Milk that has turned to Natural Yogurt, and for desert Otter Pops wrapers with still a little juice. Nothing 5 Star.

Res - I was talking with a friend today that does not have a Thyroid, and of course is on meds. He was having trouble "feeling normal". He did some reseach and found a study where a doctor had stated that a person would never feel normal because with the thyroid not doing it's job there was one other thing that needed to be added to his meds / system. He went back to his doctor and asked if he would perscribe it. He told him NO. He then whet to an indochronologist (probably spelled that wrong) and he had heard of the study, and prescribed the medication.
He's felt "normal" ever since. I sent him a text a while ago to find out what the medication is for you.
It is: T3 Cytomel
Don't know if the information will help but I wanted to pass it along to you.

WayneMan, You're a really funny guy. I enjoy reading your posts. Thank you!
I'm on day 6. Yippee. This has been a tough cleanse for me. Mostly, I think, because I thought it would be easy because it wasn't as long as my last two. (21 days in Apr, 21 days in Sept) I was wrong. It's difficult. Of course, that might be because I was so naughty over the holidays and I'm paying for it now. It's a big step down from Sees Chocolates to spicey lemonade. I'm not complaining, though. This cleanse is a blessing and I'm grateful to have it. Peace to all. A-

I'm 75% done with day 7 and so far so good! This is my 3rd time doing the cleanse and have actually found some myself craving less than I had the first 2 times. I have also found that there is "more" being eliminated this time which makes me wonder how that could be given that this is my 3rd time. You think that would be the case for your first cleanse.
I really notice a whole new level of mental clarity and energy when i do the cleanse. I wake up ready to tackle my day. I need less sleep and I really just feel energized all around.
I understand what you mean as far as letting people know what you are doing. There are a few people that I wish I wouldn't have mentioned this too and really don't care to answer all the questions they ask. Google it- look it up- but I'm not the expert!
I have had a really stiff and sore upper back/shoulder issue that came about before Christmas. It's back and that has been a struggle for me seeing as how I can't take anything like tylenol or ibuprofen right now. I've been trying to really get some good stretches in and take long hot showers but I'm worried too that I'm aggrivating it if there is any inflammation. I'm planning to also take magnesuim supplements but I'm wondering if anyone has other ideas?
I guess I shouldn't point fingers at those who are asking me about the cleanse when I'm asking for thoughts about stiff muscles/joints.
Thanks- good luck to all

Yay for Day 10! I cannot believe I haven't eaten any food for 10 days. So weird. I feel awesome today. I was 184 on day 1 and I caved and bought a scale today. I'm 174 today. Not too shabby. I'm going another 10 days at least. Let's see what I'm made of...I'll be seeing it on it's way out right? Anyway, it's cool reading all these new posts. Day 1 for me was Dec 29th and there was 4-5 ppl.
Oh yeah, I'm not working out and I've been tired the majority of the time. I'm thinkin working out a lot has to do with the lack of weight loss for some. I doubt it's the salt, and it could be lack of water too.
Till tomorrow...

Whether or not you have a thyroid -Armour is the drug you need. It contains T4 and T3 and a bit of T1 and T2. Cytomel is like speed. After a while it will quit working for him and his adrenals will be even more stressed. Just send him that website. Guaranteed he will read through it and find problems he's having. Been there; done that. I don't have a thyroid either and was on Cytomel a few years ago. It's great at first, not after a while because other symptoms showed up.

Good to know it's not just me then. I'm doing a little better today but not sure if it's because I only had 1 glass of lemonade today. lol.I'm starving though. I couldn't make myself go to the store last night because I was so drained.. I almost ate food to see if it helped but I figured at that point I might as well wait until the morning. And this morning was better. But I couldn't get out because the roads were too crappy to go get more stuff.:(

Or would you say okay, I started on the 4th so the 5th is 1, the 6th is 2... etc.
That might sound stupid, but it's something I've always wondered.
thatoneguy...... I think since you started on the 4th that is your first day or Day 1. Counting 10 days your last day is the 13th, but it is ALL day. So you would break the fast on the 14th. At least that is how I count the days.

Hang in there! It's all down hill after day 3. Everybody is trekking! I'm so encouraged. Too funny having Toilet Paper listed on the SWF list.
Yeah! I thought the TP as part of the SWF list was hilarious. After awhile I start looking for something softer than TP :)

Hey guys...Im on the end of day 2. A ways to go.
I feel the same way. I don't tell anyone. It is just for you and although the weight loss is part of the process and an added bonus..I like to cleanse for the spiritual reflections as, and figuring things out. A cleanse on all aspects of life. The first one I did was one of the knarliest experiences I thought I had ever been through. After 2 days at least I know what to expect..well sort of, all of the detoxing symptoms were different from before..quicker, and this whole ordeal is not ceasing to amaze me!! Keep it up everyone! cheers;)

Hi All! I am now on day MC 4 Day 4 and I have to say that it is much better this time around. The caffeine withdrawal headache only lasted one day. I worked out (for 30 minutes) on Day 3 and 4. I think that has helped as well. I have been getting 8 hours of sleep each day and I feel great! I don't know why I binged during the holidays. I feel much better in this state. I have already shed 6 lbs. of water weight.
I have never gone more than 10 days before, but I think I will make another run at 14 days. Wish me luck.

Hi all, I'm now 5 days into my first cleanse, and it feels great. I have been fortunate so far and have not experienced any negative side effects, which I am quite surprised about having lived a very unhealthy lifestyle the last 28 years, the last 10 of which have been way over the top. I have been a heavy drinker, smoker, and extremely overweight (5'10" ~230lbs). The last five years it has gotten progressively worse due to working on Wall Street which accelerated the alcohol/food abuse coupled with a chronic lack of sleep and high levels of stress during which period I gained about 30-40lbs. Hence the need for the cleanse. At this point in the cleanse I'm surprised by the fact that I have not had more of a negative reaction. I'm doing all of the right things, tea, SWF, 8-10 glasses of lemonade, read three books and this blog but no sign of the cleansing process yet - no burning bowel movements, white coating on the tongue, muscle ache, etc. I am however experiencing lots of bowel movements and weight loss - about 8-10lbs thus far. Is it normal to go thought a cleanse with no negative side effects? Particularly for someone like me who has lived such an unhealthy lifestyle? What if it is smooth sailing through day 10? Should I keep going until I start experiencing something more evident of a detox process? Thanks for any feedback. :)

I am at the end of day 5 and decided to check out the Master Cleanse on WebMD. There wasn't much of a positive response. It was kind of a downer to read. Any thoughts to reassure me this is good if not great for me?
This is awesome, just think of al the bad junk we are flushing from our bodies. Get rid of all the bad cravings and look and feel healthier. Great things come to those who perserve. I know it is not always easy my second MC I only went 6 days and cheated everyday but I do know the results are great if we only stick with it. I truly felt like a new person after my first MC. Heck I even looked like a new person. It was so great I am doing it again. Day 2 and I am truly convinced I am full of POO!!!! I lost 5 lbs from yesterday to today and my rear feels the burn. I hope this helps and encourages you. Keep up the good work! Its GREAT!!!!

Hello, Cleansers! Isn't each passing day fantastic? We're getting closer to our goal of squeaky cleaness!!
Funny thing happened at church tonight. I was holding a huge tray of leftover green beans for someone when I tipped it ever so slightly and was "baptized" in green bean juice!! So for the next 2 hours, I could not get away from the smell. Which I might add was heavenly!!:)
Near the end of the evening, I walked through a gauntlet of about 20 teenagers praying passionate prayers over me and anyone else who walked through. I thought that was an AMAZING way to end Day 7!
God's blessings on all of you wonderful cleansers!!!

Thanks- good luck to all
Stephanie
I actually stumbled upon the MC while googling possible causes & remedies for lower back pain. It felt like an inflamation rather than a pulled muscle or disc. I had it for at least a month before I started the cleanse and it was awful. It cleared up completely during the cleanse and because of the cleanse. I haven't had a problem since.
I've read that when aches and pains appear during the cleanse, it's the body working through the toxins that may have contributed to the inflamation in the first place. The whole point of the MC is to give the digestive system a rest and to detox which enables the body to focus on healing itself. I think taking supplements would interfere with this process.
I would give the cleansing process some more time. Also observe whether your back/shoulder pain is changing in intensity or moving around which can also indicate that your body is healing the problem.
Hang in there!

The more posts I read the more I am convinced that I'm the only one still suffering fatigue on the 7th day while everything else seems to be normal. Even my SWF was weird, I passed tiny little hard balls or stones. I think I have liver junk sitting in my colon that's not being washed out good enough with the flush.
RunningBlind...... Well of course fatigue can be a sign of detox and you are on Day 7 which often is a major detox day. Hopefully, the fatigue will be gone. Make sure you're getting plenty of lemonade and a good full 32 oz. of SWF. I sometimes ' cheat' and make an extra strong lax tea the night before and make the SWF a little bigger on detox times. Helps wash stuff out better. I also get little pea-sized balls of poo sometimes. Seems weird. The double lax tea though usually makes my poo more like loose dirt..... especially once I've gotten past the heavy mucous stage. I'm sure that's more info than you wanted to know about my poo. :o .....Keep encouraged!

firsttimemc....... The truth be known, you don't have to be miserable on the MC. It's just that sometimes you are. It's better to prepare people for the uncomfortable side in case it hits. Often a strong detox hits around day 7. With the abuse you've described it would be good to go a little longer than 10 days if you can. But think more about doing several MC's over the next few years instead of trying to 'fix' everything in one marathon cleanse.

Hello all!!! Day 3 has come and gone for me. Having my Smooth Move and then its off to bed for me. 7 more to go. I feel pretty good. I too chose not to really tell anyone I was doing the cleanse this time around and chose to keep it as a private time for me and a beginning of a new year to "get right". LOL I do the cleanse a couple times a year with different results, cravings, experiences each time. Some positve, some negative, but worth the outcome. This time if I could stick to eating healthier and cleaner this time.
Stay encouraged everybody. It's allllll worth it.

Hi
I am at the end of my seventh day and have had no weight loss. I am doing this for the cleansing purpose, but the weight loss is an added bonus since I have ten pounds to lose after baby number two (no longer breast feeding). Does anyone hav any suggestions? I followed the book, my only mistake was that I did the SWF with one teas. of salt to 32 ounces of water for the first six days because I wrote it down wrong. I am worried that I am not eliminating properly. Today I did three teaspoons in the flush but still no change. WEIRD HUH!

Hey Gang:
This is my first post after reading the board for the past couple of years. This is my 6th MC and have always referred to the bulletin board for support and guidance but had never posted until now. Kind of strange I guess. Oh well, here I am with all of you sharing in this adventure that each time helps me find out a little bit more about myself both physically and mentally. This has probably been the easiest MC so far, yet I probably started it in a more unhealthful state than my previous journeys. But I was more psyched up and looking forward to this one than the others.
It is truly amazing the sense of achievement and accomplishment that I experience after completing the MC. Not sure why exactly. I guess I have just witnessed so many friends attempt it and after day 1 or day 2 are off the proverbial "wagon" and calling me crazy. Having the willpower and the strength to follow the process as prescribed for 10 whole days gives me much gratitude and wellbeing. And the fact that I did this all by myself really enlightens me.
Each time I would say my biggest obstacle is the boredom I feel during meal times. It is not the cravings, the aches, tiredness, or even the old SWF. Just those times of the day when my internal clock is ringing that it is meal time. What to do? So I try to schedule workouts, massages, errands during those usual hours to keep myself occupied. But on the other hand, there have been numerous times where I have taken my big lemonade jug to a restaurant or even a poker game with the boys while they are drinking the nectar of the God's.
Question for the resident experts. I have been planning to do a gall-bladder and liver flush. What kind of timing would you recommend to take such action?
The best to all of you in 2009. It should be an interesting year.
Happy New Year,
Joe

Good Morning Lemonheads! MC4 D5 and I thought I'd post while the SWF does it's thing. I have lost 10 lbs, Body fat from 28.3 to 25.5 and BMI from 29.7 to 27.1. Those are good things. I have been alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine free since day one. Woke up feeling great with a burning BM prior to downing the SWF.

OMG....what a night last night and early this morning. Just when I thought this nightmarish project was over, my job manages to pull me back in to the depths of hell. Unfortunately I (and my team) were dealing with my crazy user's issues with our process that was just productionalized. I was up till almost 2:30AM working on it and on conference calls.
I didn't take my smooth move last night. So I know my body was like, YAY....Meedis is finally done with this crazy cleanse. But I shocked it this morning with a flush. And my body was so confused it didn't know what hit it. :D
So I'm waiting for the flush to get through me. I'll probably need to log into work as well to see what's going on there. Plus I have a dentist appointment at 9AM that I forgot about. Just a routine cleaning. I'll have to fill her in on my cleanse since she'll definitely notice my yucky tongue.
Just a wonderful end to Day 6....and a beautiful start to Day 7.
Hopefully the rest of day is better. We'll see.

Good Morning MCers,
Day 4 for me, and going very well. On my last cleanse, and the first 3 days of this one, I used Blackstrap mollasses, mainly because the Maple syrup is expensive. I put my self out last evening and purchased the Grade B Maple syrup. I had my first two glasses, and feel so motivated. It taste so good in comparison to the molasses.
It makes it a lot easier for me to go at least 25 days.
Wish me luck!

This is my fourth MC and there has only been one day during one of the cleanses that I felt really bad. The rest of the time is "smooth sailing" - although not always a walk in the park! I think if you have a really good mental approach it helps enormously. I don't worry about weight loss, although it's a great bonus. I focus on getting the junk out from the inside. As long as you're eliminating a lot, you're detoxifying, so it's all good. As for how long to go, see how you feel as you go along. Often your body will tell you when it's time to quit. Good luck to you!

It's just one day at a time now, I may shoot for 14 days, two full weeks, will just have to see. I've been dropping 2 lbs a day, today was only 1.:(
Did I say I was pooped? I've got fresh lemons, organic, and best of all FREE. From my "outlaws" tree. They are huge too. Hope they taste good.

You haven't lost weight because you're not eliminating properly. So it's not weird. Makes sense. If you're gaining weight it also makes sense. Why would you do 3 tsps? If you read the book, you should understand that it's 2tsp because it makes the flush a certain WEIGHT so it bypasses your kidneys. Your SWF is probably in your bladder and stomach.
Maybe you should go drink 16oz of water to see if it balances out all that salt and water you just drank.

Day 8 - Down 6lbs. It's not coming off fast enough for me. I guess because my last fast was over 40 days and I lost a lot more haha. I also lost a few pounds before starting the MC. Ah well. I'm going 3 weeks to lose 15-20 I guess. I'm still in denial that I got that high in weight again. Not as high as last time but still within 10lbs of it. Honestly, this is weight I gained back from my last fast mostly because I went on a Starbucks binge. Who the hell would think there was 510 calories in a hot chocolate? Seriously. And it's made with low fat milk. I don't get it. I found out a few weeks ago when I was on their website. Whatever, I can make my own for less calories and more healthy using cacao, agave and raw milk if I want.
I'm stuck on doing 3 weeks but I guess I'll see what happens as I go along. If I'm still losing weight steadily I'm probably not going to want to quit. Last time I did over 50days and didn't quit until I was getting intense hunger pains lol I'm not even in the mood to do this though. Im doing it but I just wish it would be over. I haven't felt like this on previous fasts. Maybe cause I havent had that "good feeling" yet.
Woke up coughing this morning. Some kind of mucus crap loose in my throat and I taste blood.. but my nose is clear. Yuck.

Guess who is still going strong!!!! woohoo I made it to day 4 I ROCK! To those that are 1st timers or if just discouraged by some of the positive posts I just want to say - My first time around I was absolutely Miserable day1-day4. I used to have coffee like twice a day so to go cold turkey and live with a splitting headache and be in the bathroom ALL DAY waking up at 4am with the worst stomach cramps vomiting one night difficulty concentrating was not fun. I ended up with a face rash on day 6 thats lasted beyond the cleanse - looked like an allergic reaction. By day 7 I couldn't wait for to be done. I did have more energy and was happy when I arrived at work (whereas people couldn't even say Good Morning til I had my coffee) and lost 10lbs. Like Peter said in the book there's the good, the bad and the ugly. The BMs are bad the detox symptoms are definitely ugly but if you just hang in there the benefits attained are completely worth it. I was able to keep 5'lbs off and within a month next 5 were gone. I became closer to God during the cleanse. I learned how to distinguish hunger and cravings. I make it a point to not let my life revolve around food and only eat what I need. Sacrifice for 13days, thats it and it will jumpstart you to a new beginning - Its the best way to start 2009.
That said steeping for less than 5 minutes didn't work. Senna and me don't mix, not only is it disgusting but I'm rudely awakened at 4:30am and 7am (I took the tea at midnight)....I just need one nights good rest just one... well at least I am getting my energy back and the cravings are disappating. Have a Great Day everyone sorry for the novel LOL

Yay, I made it to Day 10!!! I am not doing the cleanse any longer than 10 days. My tongue is mostly pink...I could probably stand to do another day or two, but I don't wanna!
I have never been so excited to go to the grocery store in my life! :D
Congrats!!! I'm on day 5 and coasting along. Yesterday and today were good days. I'm looking so forward to getting to day 10. GREAT JOB!!

Just doing my SWF and waiting for the results. I decided I will not do the Smooth Move as I get cramps in the night and wake with stomach pains so I will use the peppermint tea before bed instead.
I have tons of mucous in my sinus system coming out of me regularly since I started this cleanse. I did have a cold but I don't think it is the result of that. So those are the toxins that are coming out of my body which I guess is good.
My teeth are a bit sensitive when I brush them.
I am going to weigh myself today and see how I am doing after Day5.
Oops! I goofed and on my last post I said I was now on Day 7 but it's really Day 6, but time is going by quickly.
We can do it!!

This is my fourth time doing the MC and this time I am having sinus issues. Since day two my right sinus has been painful and tender to touch. The pain is right at the top of the nose where the nasal passage meets the sinus and it is even slightly inflamed. I can relate about the mucous this time, too, but mine is in my throat (maybe post nasal drip?) Because of this I've also developed a cough since day two. I had a bad cold a month ago, but was completely over it before I started the MC, so I don't think it's illness, just detox symptoms.
Let's keep moving!!

OK - I am starting D5, MC1. I have taken the Smooth Move tea twice in the evening and both times I have woken up with the worst abdominal cramps. I have tried taking the pshylium husk but I can't seem to drink the entire thing. I have been having no problems with eliminating the first 3 days (although it did slow down yesterday and today). Is there something else that I can substitute or am I ok as long as I continue to eliminate?
Thanks!

Still here! Feel GREAT today! Sinuses are really bad, but I am sooo full of energy! My real test is when I go to work tonight. I work at a seafood restaurant, and I have been off all week til now. I work the next 3 days. Wish me luck!!!:o The good thing is that a lot of my friends at work have done this, so I know they will support me. It will be the smell that gets me, I'm sure.... but hey, I'm stuffed up so maybe I won't smell anything!:D

A nice long soak in the tub with salts could be just what you need! I'm looking forward to one tonight! :)
I'll second that! I luv Epsom salt baths. I took one Tuesday, Wednesday and I'll probably take one each night for the rest of my clenase. What's really cool is to exercise and sweat a lot during the cleanse and then take a hot Epsom salt bath, it's SOOOO relaxing.

Hey All!
On day 4! I am so happy! I found last time the first 3 days are the hardest. My stomach was grumbling like crazy yesterday. I always have my full 12 drinks and at times 14 if I need it. I figure it is better to have 14 than to cave in and ruin the cleanse and eat. But I also know that the farther along I get in the cleanse, I won't need the extra 2. And I also start to decrease the amount of maple syrup as time goes on to assist with weight loss. I only weigh myself once a week while on the cleanse because intitally the weight lost is just water weight. I am feeling pretty good today, a bit hungry but I know it will pass.
NOTHING happened after my SWF this morning, kind of dissapointing. I know I have stuff I need to get out. UGH... I woke up in the middle of the night last night due to the tea and had butt pee that burned so bad I wanted to die. I limped back to my bed and laid there waiting for the pain to subside. lol
Anyone else have that?

I'm on Day 4 of my first MC. I'm doing well but I have been constantly hungry. The first two days all I could think about was a burger from In-and-Out..LOL. Yesterday was better. I'm feeling more in control and the cravings are lessening. Probably the worst thing is that the tea is kicking in at around 3:00-3:30 am and I'm having to get up a couple of times. :( But, I am starting to feel a little clearer mentally and I have more energy.
I miss food alot but I have no intention of breaking the cleanse. I intend to see it through, right down to the re-entry plan with the OJ, broth and veggies. I'm really looking forward to the OJ. I adore fresh squeezed OJ and I bought an electric citrus juicer to make it easier.
It's all good!

Day 4 today, I am doing well, just not very motivated for activity. I think it is the cold weather. Mostly I am sitting around reading, resting. I am eagerly waiting for a burst of energy but am just going with the flow, doing whatever my body seems to need. Especially since I have these 4 days off work, will go back to night shift tomorrow. Not many detox symptoms, except itching. I will try a baking soda bath tonight for that.
Not much in the way of any solid BM's since I started, the SWF just brings liquid and a few solids. I know there must be a lot in there. Will it eventually come? I don't feel constipated, just not passing much of anything. I did an extra cup of tea yesterday afternoon.
Best wishes to all of you January cleansers!

I don't feel motivated to workout at all right now which is very unusual for me! I work out 6 days a week 2-3 hours a day including cardio and other stuff. But I am listening to my body also and right now it wants more sleep. This is what I did last time, took it easy the first week then eased back into workng out the second and third week and when it was over my workouts were stronger and I felt so much better. It is good to give ourselves a rest like this. I did see someone else was doubling up on their detox tea bags, that is a thought. I really was dissapointed that I didn't eliminate after this mornings SWF but I am sure something will happen later. One thing I do like about the SWF is that once I go in the morning I don't go during the day or need to run to the bathroom.

Hi All, Day 7 for me and doing well. I have lots of energy and I'm sleeping well. The only downside, truthfully, is the boredom. It's sad how food provides most of my "entertainment" so to speak. I'm trying to occupy my little pea brain in the meantime.
WayneMan, tell your friend: I have lost most of my thyroid from Hashimoto's disease and I have been on Armour Thyroid medication for nearly 5 years. They tried to switch me to a synthetic once for cost, but I didn't tolerate it at all. Armour has been the best for me. I need to take a 60mg one day and a 90mg the next to keep my levels right. I'm glad to have the drug because without it I experience depression, hair loss, fungal infections under my toe nails and chronic fatigue. I struggle with my weight as well, but I don't think it's fair to blame that on my thyroid.
Hang in there everyone. 10 days is just a tiny blip in time. A-

Hey Marsh, my first cleanse I skipped the tea on d4-6 because of work and cramps. I did that because I was eliminating regularly - a little in every bathroom visit. It worked fine for me and honestly if I keep waking up at night with the tea I will prob skip a night or 2 again since I'm eliminating throughout the day. In Peter's book he describes the tea as the agitator and the SWF as the rinse cycle. Use your discretion. I think the most important thing is that we are eliminating often.

HI everyone. Is there anyone out there going past 10 days? I'm on Day 11 and curious to see how others going longer than 10 days are doing. I've developed sort of a pattern this week of feeling 150% awesome, tons of energy. Then the day after I'll be somewhat tired, achy, irritable and have very mild cravings. The day after I'll have energy again and feel great. Weird, but I'm sure it's detox at work. I haven't gotten dizzy or anything, however I did yoga on Monday and some of the positions made me lightheaded. No biggy.
Happy cleansing!
P.S./ Day 1 - 185 lbs
Day 11 - 171lbs (awesome) My muffin top is almost gone

The salt water was gross to me on Day 1 too, and I almost threw up. Try it warm. I actually like it now... weird huh. Took a few days though. From what the veterans are saying, don't skip it if you can help it. It's an important part of the cleanse.

Hello,
Im on day 8, miscounted days in yesterday note, day 7 was a tough one in the afternoon and night, Head ache and cravings. I will have to start the OJ on Saturday day 10 because i have a family get together Sunday night. My tongue has been more pink this time, probable because I just cleansed in August but I am having more aches and pains throughout this cleanse. I know I should probably go longer but just don't have the staying power like i do in the summer and want to enjoy the family thing on Sun.
I think someone asked about how to come off the fast, and I will emphasis, don't just start eating anything! I tried that after my 4 day fast the very 1st time! It will give you a terrible stomach ache! What I have done that works for me is OJ for most of first day, then I make homemade veggie soup and have the broth that 1st night. Then I have OJ for breakfast 2nd day and veggie soup for lunch, by dinner i can usually have a salad but often stick with the soup. by day 3 Im on to raw fruits veggies and can usually eat most anything. Now I only do 10 day fasts so I can't say if this would work for longer fasts but that is what works for me. I also have IBS and a very sensitive tummy!
By the way I was on 90 Mg of Pepcid a day back in August and after that fast I haven't been on Pepcid since!:D

Hi All, Day #7 today! :D I was up at 5AM this morning to run to the bathroom and it was great!! Double bagging and steeping covered for 20 minutes is the way to go for me--even though it is a little disgusting when it's so strong. Usually I don't mind it. I felt so energetic afterward that I stayed up, threw in 3 loads of wash, and cleaned out my front hall closet while waiting for the swf to work. That is sooo not like me in the morning. Usually I'm glued to my crossword puzzle and multi cups of espresso! Now I'm at work after 2 Lemon teas. Had to dash to an 11AM meeting this morning so no time to make extra tea--only brought water. I've been so buried in a work project these last few hours, I didn't realize until this second how hungry I am...for lemon tea!!! That's crazy too. Just wanted to check and see how everyone else is doing before I dash back home to make some. You guys all ROCK!!

I haven't updated since the end of Day 1, so I thought I would give a brief recap of how things have gone since then. I am currently on day 5.
Day 1 - didn't have enough lemonade early in the day, so very hungry and shaky by late afternoon. felt better after several lemonades.
Day 2 - this was a rough day. I was hungry most of the day and on the verge of quitting more times than I could count. No real detox symptoms, just huger, despite the fact that I drank about 10 lemonades.
Day 3 - Much better day. No hunger until evening. I read an article on the spiritual side of fasting that really helped. It talked about self-control and staying focused on God. Self-control / self-discipline is something that I have been focusing on for the last several months, so it was helpful to have that tie-in. I have spent more time in prayer, focusing on God as my strength. It also helps to remind myself that it is okay to be hungry.
Day 4 - pretty much the same as day 3. Only very mild detox symptoms - slight headache, occasional mild nausea, bleeding gums. Dh and I spent 20 minutes last night talking about foods that sound good. We are both craving soup. :)
Day 5 - I am tired of waking up at 4am with stomach cramps and spending 30 minutes in the bathroom. By the time I get back to sleep, it is time to get up. I will be soooo glad to not have another cup of Smooth Move tea! I have lost 6lbs, my tongue is still a little white, but not bad. No bleeding gums today, thank goodness.
Overall, the hardest part has been hunger and the need to continue to prepare food for the kids. I can't seem to get out of the kitchen. I am looking forward to tomorrow, when I go to work and dh is home to cook for the kids. :D

Hi Folks.
So today is Day 3 for me -- debatably. Any thoughts on my slight modification to the cleanse--which inlcudes adding grapefruit juice to the cleanse in place of a few servings of maple syrup/black strap molasses? My goal was to get over the hump with out downing bottles of maple syrup! Today is the first day I've only done the lemonade -- I ran out of grapefruits. So far, so good. Question I'm debating is whether or not I should go for 12 days on just lemonade or continue with my 10 days -- where the first two include grapefruit juice.

decided to check out the Master Cleanse on WebMD. There wasn't much of a positive response.
The medical industry isn't going to endorse or support any successful program that doesn't make them money.
I wish all of you could've been in on my last doctors visit with a Medical Doctor that has gone a "bioidentical hormone replacement therapy" road (alternative medicine). He didn't have very nice things to say about the regular MD world and made comments about them that I already knew by researching things myself over the years. They are GREAT in an emergency situation but they're not "taught" how to prevent disease, only to go for the next new expensive drug that doesn't work.
All due respect to anyone in the field. :)

Res I completely agree with you. You will find both positive and negative information on the cleanse. However when asking MD allopathic physicians about the cleanse they more than likely will not be supportive. The master cleanse is a more Hollistic approach to your health. Its really up to you listen to your body, soul and mind and decide what works best for you. Personally I'd like to skip the pills they only mask the real problems.

I know you weren't asking me, but I thought I would share my experience anyway. I developed hyperthroidism ( had Graves disease) very young - I was 19 or 20 when the symtoms began, but had no idea what was going on. Long story short, I was finally diagnosed at age 24 and ended up having the radioactive iodine. At that time, I still had trust in the medical profession and believed the doctor when he told me my only options were surgery or radioactive iodine. I was so weak and miserable and just wanted it over. I really, really regret not taking the time to research my options on my own before taking that step. The radioactive iodine not only destroyed my throid, it apparently destroys all iodine receptors in the body, which in turn increases risk of breast cancer. Nice, huh?

Ok, I posted last night but would really love some more feedback from experienced cleansers because I am a little worried. It is day eight, I have not lost any weight and I am worried that my body is not releasing the toxins. I will keep going if I know I am not hurting myself. I wrote down the SWF wrong so for the first six days I had one teas. to a quart of water. Day seven I tried three and day eight two. Never have I had serious eleminations besides urine mixed with very light bowel movements. Last night I even tried two bags of tea-always steeping for 15 minutes.
I don;t think the amount of of salt should be a major problem since Peter said in a youtube statement that you can increase on decrease the amount of salt to create the correct flush.
I would really love any feedback if you or someone you know has experienced this. I do not want to quit but like I said, do not want to be stirring things up without getting it out
THANKS

The medical industry isn't going to endorse or support any successful program that doesn't make them money.
I wish all of you could've been in on my last doctors visit with a Medical Doctor that has gone a "bioidentical hormone replacement therapy" road (alternative medicine). He didn't have very nice things to say about the regular MD world and made comments about them that I already knew by researching things myself over the years. They are GREAT in an emergency situation but they're not "taught" how to prevent disease, only to go for the next new expensive drug that doesn't work.
All due respect to anyone in the field. :)
You don't have to tell me twice!!! between bikram yoga. following the Paleo diet, and the MC I have successfully gotten my blood pressure down and has stayed down, and aided in curing other issues. Im on day 3....first 2 days were rough but the detoxing list you had posted a few days ago was encouraging to revisit, and as much pain as I was in I want all those toxins OUT!! Way too many cookies and wine over the holidays.
I'm usually active as well, and I have been lying around for the past two days...hoping to get to Bikram tomorrow!

Aloha,
I would like to thank everyone for there posts and encouranging words to everyone.

Well I didn't throw in the towel, I re-read Peter's book on "Emotional Detox" and realized that's what happened on D7, when I woke up yesterday I was like "I'm not drinking the SWF today" and I had never had problems in the past days other than D1 trying to drink it all but I did. I couldn't believe that I felt so great on D6 and WAM! D7 I just didn't want to anymore. I never had the headaches, body aches, so I figured the MC wasn't for me even though I know my body is cleansing. I'll be here til D10 or whenever :D

I kindof was in the same boat on my first cleanse although I'm not overweight at all. Junk food, Alcohol, etc, etc. I am on my 3rd cleanse and really don't feel any negative side effects even since cleanse 1 . I'm surprised you don't have the white coating though- Mine usually starts on day 2. If you feel good on day 10 you might want to keep going. My doctor told me to just listen to my own body. She wasn't supportive of the cleanse but said she didn't feel it was her place to discourage either- refreshing from a medical professional.

Hello, I'm on day 3. So far so good. I must say it's been harder this time and I'm not getting that burst of energy I got on day 3 the first time i did it. Food has been on the brain. I saw an Ihop commercial and it nearly made me jump up and go get some pancakes. Sorry to bring up food...but i'm hanging in there.

That's so funny. I have been craving In-N-Out during most of my cleanse too. I love their burgers so much. mmmmm.
I am so excited ! I went to Whole Foods today to get stuff for my Ease Out tomorrow.
I bought two different kinds of oranges...one of the kinds is supposed to taste like a mix between tangerines & grapefruit. I thought that sounded interesting. :D
For my soup, I bought: veggie broth, carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, celery, onion, red potatoes, and zucchini. Mmm, I can't wait until I can have some of my soup!
I also bought some tomato juice. I wanted to make tomato juice myself, but I don't know if that would have been a good idea. I looked at the ingredients & it doesn't seem like they put anything unnecessary in it, so I hope it will be okay. I will probably wait until the 2nd or 3rd day after the cleanse before I drink any tomato juice, though.
I am so glad I stuck it out for 10 days! You guys can do it too! Mind over matter!

TAUT - You're still here! Cool :) Now I'll get to find out about your big drop when it happens!
So, Day 9 for me and I've pretty much decided to end it at 10 days. It's the cold more than anything else - just can't take it. I don't do well being cold anyway, it seems to suck all the life out of me at the best of times, and combined with "detox" - ugh. This is going to be my one and only January cleanse - unless I move someplace warm LOL. I'll have to be a summer cleanser from now on.
Of my 9 days I think I've had about 3/4 of a day where I felt really good. I'm pretty sure that last time I was feeling great Day 9 & 10 - oh well. Think part of the problem is that I ran out of my old salt and the SWF has not been going very well with my new salt. This salt has bigger crystals and I think the proportion must not be quite right so I'm holding on to a lot of it - yuck. I know I feel better after the SWF flushes so the way I feel now makes sense.
Interesting this cleanse I have a whole bunch of misc aches and pains that I didn't have the first time - including a weird pain in my left foot - as if I had stepped on it wrong but I just woke up with it like that one day. I've never had any problems with my foot, except I did break a bone in that foot in 1980!!! Weird. I don't have a bathtub that I would want to use, have never really been in to baths, but I'm thinking those Epsom salt baths sound awfully good. May have another home remodel project to add to the list LOL.
I have been reading a bunch about colonics (just in general, not in relation to the cleanse) which I have never really liked the idea of - anyone have any thoughts?
I must say, I do miss feeling good.

Boots,
Thanks for cheering me on :D:D the salt I have is coarse and I really try to grind it smaller and that could be the issue that I maybe holding on to a little. I did manage to lose a pound but I really have to make sure I get in all my water, never a problem with the LA too much. I can't complain about my weather :) it's fabulous. Yes, I will be soaking in some Epsom salt in a few hours to chill out. Thanks again for being there for me. You're almost done!

Just reading that makes my stomach hurt! Even with steeping just 10 minutes, I wake up with horrible cramps. :o
Is that dangerous to use 2 tea bags? I use one and steep for 15 minutes. Last night I didn't go a lot from the tea but a little bit.

I did my tea last night and swf this morning but no eliminations?? I was so ready for something exciting. I wonder if I need more tea or something.
Is it ok to use tea bags instead of steeping? Today wasn't so bad, just lots of using the bathroom at work. However tonight I will be in a restaurant all night. Wish me luck!

I don't have anything for you on the Liver flush. Other's have done it right after cleansing. I do everything I can in life to prevent myself from throwing up so I can't really imagine filling my stomach with olive oil and expecting it to exit the proper direction.:o Alex was somewhere around here and did a flush on his 11th MC day. Hi, this is, I believe, my 5th or 6th Master Cleanse. This is day 6. Days 5 and 6 have been my most Detox days. I have been craving foods but was and is able to move along. On day 5, a long slimy thing about 6 inches came out, I was in Au. On Day 3 - 4 or 5 eliminations, Day 4-4 or 5 eliminations, Day 5-4 or 5 eliminations and today Day 6 - as of 5:37pm 5 elimiantions. This cleanse is
amazing to me because I see so much gunk that's being eliminated, that is why I know that it is working. I have been becoming on Days 5 and 6 in the early evening, around 4-5pm, my stomach has been quizzy and after the feeling goes away, i have lots of filmy looking stuff come out of me and then I feel better. Has this happen to anyone? I am thinking of going father than 10 days to see what happens - ONE DAY AT A TIME:).

Hello All,
This is my 4th day and my first ever cleanse! My Husband and I are both doing the MC...he has been kicking butt! Barely any detox symptoms...I, on the other hand...have had ALL of the symptoms! The 1st day was the worst headache ever! The 2nd day was the puking! The 3rd day I dry heaved a little and just felt like BUTT!
Keep in mind that up to 4 days ago...I drank beer...almost every night, smoked about a pack a day and decided that I should start drinking coke around the Holiday's again! Yeah, I think I might have been REALLY toxic!
Today is much better!!! I have not smoked for 2 days...today, I have had cravings but the smell or thought of it makes me want to heave...so, no smoking! YAY!!!!!!!!! I am not really hungry unless I smell food...which I am trying to avoid at all cost. I have lost about 8 pounds...which I think is a lot in 4 days. What do you think?
I was condidering only doing 5 days and going to a raw food diet. However, I looked at my tongue and am now reconsidering. By the end of each evening I feel like I would rather put a hot poker in my eye than drink another glass of Lemonade...but then the next morning comes and I start the process all over again. I'm hangin in there! My friends think my Husband and I are crazy...so I'm glad this forum exists.
* 1 helpful hint when it comes to the Salt Water...I split the amount in two glassfuls. I use a red plastic cup, a straw, the celtic sea salts mixed well and cold water...after the 1st day and the struggle of keeping the SWF down...something had to change. This change has been working for my hubby too! The results are exactly what they are supposed to be! Gross but eliminating!

Hi everyone. Well, i'm finishing up Day 5. Its not been that bad at all, except my family is in the kitchen eating spaghetti and meatballs (that I made!!!) and it smells so good. My husband just came in here and asked if I was ok...he said he feels very guilty. He's a good guy. :p Anyway, still no major BMs so far...today was a little more than what i'd consider butt pee but not much. I did the tea twice yesterday hoping it would stir things up. not so much. the SWFs are going down ok too. my tongue is completely white and my nails are growing, so i know something is happening even if i'm not eliminating as much as i thought i would. yesterday and today my lower back has been hurting, but i've read on the posts that that's been happening to some people, so i'm assuming its part of the detox. I lost 5lbs so i guess thats a good thing too. Thanks to all of you....i try to get on here a few times a day to keep up with everything. You're all very helpful! :)

Hey Lynda, I had a rash show up on my face on MC1D6 - it made an appearance D4 but just a small patch of dry red skin by the mouth. By Day 6 I looked like I tanned and got burned. I was red faced, itchy and peeling - My family has eczema but I never experienced anything like that. Anyway I hung in there and the "skin rash" didn't go away until d3 off the cleanse. You wouldn't believe how beautiful my skin looked though, it was new skin no blemishes SO smooth! Loved it - better than a European Facial. It was tough to continue because it lasted well beyond the next days eliminations. i think there is a past thread that discusses skin rash you may want to read some of the info there. https://therawfoodsite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2977

RockStarAriel: You rock! http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-happy057.gif Congratulations you're a Lemonhead!!
Honey: the peppermint tea isn't LAX tea and it's only "on occasion". ;) You need a lax tea of some sort to loosen things up. You may want to try steeping for 1 minute only. I hear ya about the cramping though and I don't like it either.
zoegrace: psyllium husk isn't on the menu. Only LAX tea. You should follow the book exactly to give the MC an honest try. :)
marsh: lots of tea issues today. Personally I hate it - so steep it for only a minute to see if that helps. Get Regular tea is actually better (don't like this one either) as far as not making you double over but it seems to lag on getting the job done. However that may be preferable to cramping. :o
scaryspice: If you're drinking 6-12 glasses you're fine. Yeah the headache is typical but no fun. Drinking water is "supposed" to help with headache pain. Hang in there! :)
Alexb: If you add grapefruit to the cleanse it's technically not the Master cleanse. :) I don't know if it will work for you or not. :o

When you "detox" you can expect to experience a few of these:
Increased joint or muscle pain
Headaches
Diarrhea
Extreme fatigue and/or its opposite, sleeplessness
Nausea
Sinus congestion
Fever (usually low grade) and/or chills
Frequent urination and/or urinary tract discharges
Drop in blood pressure
Skin eruptions, including: boils, hives, and rashes. Note: skin eruptions are often misdiagnosed as allergic reactions, resulting in the premature cessation of the cleansing program.
Cold or flu-like symptoms
You may think that you actually feel worse or that the treatment is not working at all during a cleanse. Do not despair. These are all signs that your treatment is working and that your body is going through the process of cleaning itself of impurities, toxins and imbalances.
Such reactions are temporary and can occur immediately -- or within several days, or even several weeks, of a detox. Symptoms usually pass within 1-3 days, but on rare occasions can last several weeks.

It is day eight, I have not lost any weight and I am worried that my body is not releasing the toxins.
Hey MM hang in there... Are you drinking water throughout the day, at least 1/2 your weight in oz? I don't have massive amounts of BM just a little a few times a day. I have major cramps with it coming out. Around this time some people experience some mysterious solid BMs but most of us are probably experiencing BP (Butt pee). sorry to be so graphic but you're probably not going to see chunks of stuff. I'm thinking if you want to reduce weight you probably want to take the minimum of 6 lemonades a day and maybe reduce the maple syrup by 1/2 tbls - Res let us know if you disagree. Good luck...talk to all of you tomorrow been a great day couldn't have done it without you!

Day 7 for me! This morning I actually got down all 32oz of the SWF...then proceeded to sit in the bathroom for 20 min b/c I thought I was going to throw up....but I kept it down. I can tell a difference...a lot more BM's today - both this morning and throughout the day.
I'm still feeling pretty good. Worked out this morning and am pretty energized still. I shouldn't speak too soon though cause I'll probably have the bad 8th day instead of the bad 7th day. Ah well, today is almost over and that means I am about half way to my goal of 14 days! :D
I think I've made a couple believers at work this week (don't get me wrong there are still a lot of skeptics), but I think my overall energy and good moods (cause I'm usually quite crabby at work) are making other people consider doing it.

Just checking in to say hi at the end of my 4th day. It's still been pretty rough going especially in the evenings. QUESTION:
has anyone skipped the lax tea and just gone straight to the swf and flushed out ok??
the tea is waking me earlier and earlier everyday, like 3am, 2am.....not good. i need to sleep. please let me know if skipping the tea has worked for anyone out there. thanks alot.
otherwise, day 8 and and feeling great except for being tired. down 10lbs, too. this second cleanse is so much easier that the last one. hang in there, everyone!
i have never done the lax tea, and this is my 4th cleanse. i wouldnt endorse it, because its probably wise to follow the book, but i cannot stand peppermint or senna, literally can not get it down, so whats a girl to do? i just do the flush every morning. i am probably not getting full benefits, but i am happy with the results i get, so i dont stress over it.

I am so glad to have found this site! I'm encouraged by everyone's stories. This is my first time doing teh cleanse the RIGHT way. I finally bought a book (The Complete Master Cleanse by Tom Woloshyn). The last 2-3 times I did it for only 3-4 days and never used a laxitive. Smooth move and the Yogi lax tea give me terrible cramps. I want to scream in the middle of the night. Anyone else? So I've been doing the SWF twice a day. Not fun, but almost immediate results with no cramping. A little gagging though to get it down the hatch...
I almost fell off the wagon tonight. not because I'm hungry, just cause I'm bored with the lemonade. Can't wait to taste food again. I have lost a few pounds but it goes up and down by 2-3 lbs per day. Maybe waste weight?
Anyway, thanks for sharing your stories. I'll check back here daily. I'm only on day 4.
Oh, and PS: watching TV is hard... all these food commercials... but honestly, not appetizing... makes you realize why this country is so overweight. So many fast food commercials!

I am on day 6 and am doing well. The hunger has been the least of my problems. I have had so many aches since day 2. I have not been sleeping well. My muscles in my legs are so sore, when I lay down.
I got a light massage tonight, hope that helps. Other than that I am doing well. My tongue is not as coated but still has white on it. Ready for this to be over. This is my third MC The first one I completed, the second I only lasted 5 days. This one I am going the full 10 days...My willpower has been great this time.

MC1Day11
Okay, today I made a real exciting accomplishment!!! I wanted to post this all day but I was too busy at work. This morning I needed to be at work early for a meeting and was up showered and sitting at my computer looking at the Cleanse Board. Well either from the MC or from the cold I had when I started it, I needed to cough up a hair ball, so I was coughing and leaned over the trash can to spit it out and it happened  I am the newest member of THE I POOPED IN MY PANTS CLUB on the MC. :D What a mess... back off for a second shower and I was almost late for my meeting. There were doooo-nuts and coffee at the meeting too, and I didn't even go sniff em.
Taut - Good job, hanging in there. Welcome back.
Betty09 - I'm still here for now, feel like crap at work. If I can make it through tomorrow, then might be able to make my new goal of 14 days. Feeling pretty spent though. You're so funny. "Butt Pee is Fun." "Not eating for 11 Days is Fun". What a cheap date!!!
Wilddarling - Thanks again for the Thyroid info. I'll pass it on to my buddy Marlon.
KP - Way to go on the book. Very cool.
Yap at ya later.

:) Evening all ! First of all a big welcome to all the neewbies. I've been reading posts for 5½ hours trying to catch up. WOW, how enpowering all this positive energy is. At the beginning of this cleanse I planned on 10 days, then decided on 15 to really get down to the nitty gritty. Now due to the detox symptomes I'm having today that I didn't get on day 14, I'm going to keep going 1 day at a time. My tongue is almost pink so that's a good sign. This morning I had a semi-solide BM so I figure I still have a lot of junk stopped up in the pipes. ( thanx for the pix Rez ) it sure encourages one to keep going, ha ha, and do we ever go.
Sunnyrae, I can totally relate to your loss as I also went through that and it's tough.
Wayneman, I'm very proud of you, and totally enjoy reading you.
So lets all try to go one step more or should I say one more day, to prouve to ourselves how great we really are. ;)
We are the champions...of the cleanse.

Matt! :D Your liver cleanse video is GREAT!
Did you feel sick at all on day 1 or 2? I may actually try it when I'm done with the MC. I've heard people say that they felt sick for a few days afterwards but I think they did a flush that had them consume 2 Cups of oil.
Thanks! No, I didn't feel sick. The oil / grapefruit mixture isn't bad at all! The thing that gets you is the Epsom salt, it's really bitter.
Good luck!

Hi all
Ok, I posted last night but would really love some more feedback from experienced cleansers because I am a little worried.
I do not want to quit but like I said, do not want to be stirring things up without getting it out
THANKS
Of course it would have been helpful to do the SWF correctly, but even so you aren't hurting yourself. People fast on just plain water and it has about the same benefits. The lemonade mix helps the body release toxins, but eating nothing does too. I don't think the yellow of the butt pee is just from yellow lemons. You get the same from green limes! It is unusual that you are having no eliminations, but rest assured the SWF with two TEAspoons of salt that you're now doing is softening up the layers. Besides, your digestive system is scouring the WHOLE body, eating up the most expendable stuff (the junk) first. Some is actually burned up and some is released for elimination. Toxins are released through the urine, the skin, mouth, nose, and bowels. (Do you have nasal congestion? It's a detox) You're just not seeing solid chunks in the stool. Don't fret. The cleanse is still working. You may see some yet. If you want you can try drinking more than 32 oz. of SWF, but be careful because too much can make you nauseous.
From your description it could be that your intestines are lined with hard crap (pun intended) I personally would not do a colon cleanse. They can be more traumatic than helpful. Do the MC for 10 days or whatever you planned. The MC is not a one time fix for years of abuse. Plan to do the MC 2-3 times a year. You'll find your body responding positively to the cleanse (complexion, joints, allergies, digestion, energy, etc. Even though you aren't showing weight loss you may lose pants/dress size. But remember the purpose of the MC is to rest the digestive system and CLEANSE. If you were to just intake water and the lemonade mix, your body would cleanse. The lax tea and SWF are enhancers to the process. Hang in there. Only two days to go. You've done great to get to 8 days! Lots of people can't even imagine doing an 8 day 'fast.'

Is that dangerous to use 2 tea bags? I use one and steep for 15 minutes. Last night I didn't go a lot from the tea but a little bit.
Lynda
Using 2 teabags isn't "dangerous" but it can cause cramps. The tea is used to loosen the sides of the intestines. The SWF is what washes it out.

Hello All,
This is my 4th day and my first ever cleanse!
Wow! What great determination in spite of the obstacles!! Hang in there. You'll be thrilled when you get to 10 days. And your body will thank you too.

I did this once before and had good results, it was weird and tough and mostly was just cold and tired. But was really uplifted with a new outlook on life. I feel like I've gotten even healthier since the last time....but this time my detox is brutal! Stomach pains like my inside are being shredded from the walls of my body, weird rash on my neck and arms. I know it can only be good. The thing I did different this time was take the cayenne capsules, I know its not recommended, maybe thats it, anyone know how many milligram to take?
I guess the question is after "purifying" your body, does it get more affected/toxic from bad things? It would be interesting if detox signs were measurable on how toxic one is.......

Day #11
Just finishing up Day 11 and am ready for bed.
I started the day feeling really tired. I took a nap around noon and when I woke up, felt full of energy. I actually vacuumed the whole house this afternoon (I live in a tri-level)... even under the beds!! :D So I counted that as my daily exercise for today since I was too tired to do anything early this morning.
I think I've actually felt just a little bit warmer today.
Will check in again tomorrow.
Keep on keeping on everybody! :)

I added day 4 (yesterday) to my You Tube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pab6fU_acEw).
I did the SWF late, it kicked in at work.
I'm smelling that weird smell I get when I have a cold.
I craved chocolate, raw crackers and fat (like avocado / raw cashews).
I've already thought about stopping on day 10. I'm going to try to go the whole 2 weeks I planned on, though.
My eyes were burning a little when I closed them.
I burned 500 calories on the elliptical.
I took an Epsom salt bath.

I am just finishing day four, this is my second cleanse, I love it. I did 10 days last year and am going to try for 20 if all goes well.
I have a question.....I was wondering if once a day can I heat the lemonade for my morning cup or use it with my tea bag? I heated one morning when it was really cold but then thought I had better ask.

WELL CLEANSING DEB
Hi Deb, No, I have hypothyroidism. Somehow I developed Hashimoto's disease which slowly destroys the thyroid. I think it's a virus, I'm not sure, although my sister had it too. Anyway, I don't produce enough hormone and so I need to suppliment with the Armour. I'm sure that I wouldn't want radioactive iodine put into my body either. Be well, A-

Is that dangerous to use 2 tea bags? I use one and steep for 15 minutes. Last night I didn't go a lot from the tea but a little bit.
Lynda
The directions also say to not use the tea longer than one week! After 5 days on one bag, I was only going a little bit or not at all. I think for the few remaining days, as long as it's not affecting me adversely, using 2 tea bags is not dangerous. The elimination I experienced from 2 bags was what I would consider normal for a cleanse and pretty quick. The morning swf always works quickly for me and then I'm done for the day. Everyone's body and constitution is different. I think you should go with your instinct.

Nice, huh?
Similar story here. But my thyroid was shot since birth since I got fed soy formula. There are too many people with a similar story for there not to be a connection to soy and thyroid. I'm pretty sure I was "Hypo" around 13 or so.
Cancer was finally found at 19 when the lump in my neck got even bigger. I was too young and stupid and had family who basically forced me to have it removed and I didn't know any better either. Sucks. I knew and felt it was WRONG to have it removed since I felt completely fine otherwise but people basically forced me to and I don't know why I let them. I had it removed and skipped the Radioactive iodine. Had another tumor in it's place, that had to be removed. 2 years later more cancerous lymphnodes and I had surgery again and more radioactive iodine. Ugh. I could still have cancer for all I know, I haven't been checked in about 6 years. It's my life and I'm done with that toxic crap. I'll stick with the holistic stuff. All the fasting (master cleanses and juice fasting) I"ve done, I'm sure it's killed any cancer in me. Hopefully it'll kill any chances of breast cancer too..Supposedly Iodine can help prevent breast cancer though so at least we can supplement with that.

Day 8.
6lbs down. Blah. I want it to come off faster.
I'm not as fatigued and tired anymore. Glad that's going away.
Went to the gym tonight which is the first time since being on the fast. I did pretty good. Would've done better if I stretched more. I pulled a muscle in my leg and had to quit.. I couldn't lift as good. Probably not even going to attempt it again or I'll stick with free weights at home. I hate the gym in January.. too many "New Years Resolutions" people. Half hour before closing and the place had about 30 people in it. Usually theres only like 5! Luckilly, they never last past a few weeks and will be gone soon. loll. Happens every year.

I just noticed that today how much my nails are growing!

Wrapped up on Day 7, I guess technically I'm on Day 8. Just wanted to post a quick update in case anyone's reading that I'm still in it. Had an interesting episode early evening where my nose was running like crazy. I did a NETI and even that didn't clear it up. But eventually after an hour of blowing my nose, it went away. Maybe it was Detox.
I resumed the smooth move tonight. Will see if a day away from it (due to staying up till 2am for work related issues) makes any difference in its effectiveness in the morning.
Anyway it's Friday...and the official Day 8 will be in my cards. So nice to know the end goal is almost here.

I'm finishing up Day 8 today and it was a tough day. I was pleasantly surprised this morning by how easy the SW went down- I have to say that part of the MC is brutal for me!! but I get through it every day- all of it too. The elimination today was UNDERwhelming though and I didn't have another BM all day! I was frustrated! Never thought I'd be frustrated that I didn't crap enough in a day but I was none-the-less. I was thinking that I would just quit a few days early since it didn't seem like I was doing myself any good but I think I was just stuck today. I think I am bored with the routine of the mC and so I spent some time really thinking about what the MC means to me and I guess it really is about just feeling refreshed, testing my limits and really clearing out my body and my mind so I'm not quitting! I have slept really well these last 8 days and I am not craving any Diet Dr. Pepper at all!
I have alot of aches today and my neck/shoulder is still very stiff. I took a very hot SWB this afternoon and that helped while I was in the tub but as soon as I was dry and cool I was sore again. I was able to work out later in the afternoon though and that felt good. I think it's some yoga tomorrow and another SWB
One thing I noticed was a lot of posts were talking about letting their lax tea steep for much longer than I typically do and so tonight I made sure that it was at least 20 minutes- I forgot and it ended up being 30- extra steeped lax for me!! :) Anyhow, within minutes of drinking it (maybe just a coincidence) I had a major elimination and feel very relieved.
That was my day folks! cheers to tomorrow

Hey!
Thanks for your comments, I really appreciate them! I have never had this and didn't get it on the first cleanse so wanted to ask. After my first cleanse, my skin looked so good, everyone I know was commenting on it. I am hoping when all is said and done, that will be the case here. However, after the cleanse I went all raw and my skin continued the glow until I started this one. I thought it might just be a detox symptom... interesting to experience different ones on different cleanses. I did just get back from a trip for nye in new orleans and ate a ton of crap I would normally NEVER eat. I am paying for it now!
Thanks again!

HELP!
I am wide awake ... this happened to me last time on the cleanse as it began to break down the toxins I was sleeping so much less and waking up everynight in the middle of the night for hours.
Has this happened to anyone else? Techinically we are onto friday so it is now day 5 for me.
YIPPEE! Once I get past the first week , mentally it is so much easier.
I can't stop thinking about all the salads and fruit I eat and the raw desserts I make. I made the most delicious raw pumpkin cheesecake over the holidays. So ultimately I don't want anything bad, just the healthy stuff I normally eat. I miss it!!

MC 3/Day 34
WOW!!!!! so many bulletins to read!!
you guys sure left me in the dust since my last login a few days ago. Looks like everyone is hanging in there :). So nice to see that I have people doing this with me. As my loved ones and co-workers are all complaining and trying to get me to break my fast . Why is it that when people see you try to better yourself they always want to start hating on you? I'm not letting anyone get in my way of finishing this fast with their negative comments, "you're gonna get sick", "it's not healthy to not eat as many days as you've been STARVING yourself", "you're too skinny", "you look sick", "you're tired all the time and there is a reason, the MC", "eew that's gross, why do you want to fast, our bodies were designed to cleanse itself through elimination", "you're gonna get long term internal damage by drinking that stuff, it's too acidic", and on and on and on and on and on has this negativity been going on, for the past week to be precise. I even had a co-worker give me funny looks and ask me if I had an eating disorder !! "WHAT!!! are you serious?" I thought to myself after I heard that comment. Do these people not remember how much I love food and eat??!!!! People first said that, "it's impossible for you to do a fast for 40 days. You're not gonna last more than your usual few weeks, max at that. Especially since Christmas and New Years is the time you're choosing to this". SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!! I made it through all of December, and managed to go to a bunch of holiday parties without the slightest desire and temptation to eat their ACIDIC FOOD. And since then, friends and co-workers have been trying to get me down with their negative words. I believe they're just scared that I have more will power than them. And they sounded so silly in the beginning of my clease with their bets and hopeful wishing that I would last only a week, that this is their own way of covering up their true feelings and emotions about this "RADICAL" behavior of mine. This is exactly why I chose not to tell people, and didn't tell them until they figured it out by themselves. I don't have anything to hide or explain to anyone, and I just laugh it off when I hear their ignorance. But, people will be people...unfortunately!!! and have their opinion and imput regardless of us wanting to tell them about this or not, AAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Anywho, enough of me complaining. Now the good news is, the only people that support me on this spectacular journey are my immediate family, boyfriend, God, and you guys :). And that's all I need to make it to day 40...or beyond, just to make a statement ;) hhhhhhmmmmmmm
My weight is down to 122 from 148, I have so much energy that all I want to do is clean and organize. I have a PINK TOUNGE :p. Clear skin, and my list goes on.
But, there is one thing about the SWF vs. lax tea in the AM: I didn't flush with SW yesterday, 'cuz I usually have the butt pee thing going on for 5 to 7 hours :((yeah I know, tell me about it :o). If I don't drink my one gallon of water through out the day, I feel really weired and dizzy from all the salt. So, since I had to run around yesterday and didn't have access to El Bano, I tried the lax tea when I got up instead of the SWF...bad idea :(. First of all, it took about 8 hours or so for it to kick in, which was in the evening while I was sitting in class taking notes :(. To top it off, I had the worse experience with cramps EVER, since drinking the tea :(. I don't know how some of you can do the lax the in the AM, but I prefer the SWF anytime over the tea. Because it doesn't give me cramps and works right away. Plus, I didn't have the booty pee and felt really gross and dirty...I guess I missed it in some platonic way. To Lax Tea's defense, the down side of the SWF is that I retain the salt and it makes me a little bloated.
Oh well, I guess I can't have my cake and eat it too. Or can I? <------ I'm I allowed to say that on here, "eat a cake"?? :p
Keep squuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeezing them lemons, fellow lemonfaces :)

I am right there with you on others comments! I have heard ALL of the above and so much more! Our society as a whole criticizes and ridicules what they don't understand instead of trying to get a new perspective. Everyone I know thought I was CRAZY for not eating for 21 days on my last cleanse (well really 23 because I juiced the first two days). I kept trying to explain how great I was feeling as it went longer but that didn't seem to register with them. I LOVE this cleanse. I saw multiple benefits from it and plan to do one every quarter a year. So next 3 cleanses will start on 4/5 , 7/5 and then 10/5. It is a great thing to do for your body and mind and a great way to keep your weight in check. And I LOVE the taste of the lemonade! Does anyone else out there love it too?
Sounds like you are doing awesome! Keep up the great work!

I just finished my first day and I feel pretty good. I am really motivated and I pray that motivation stays with me until February. I am going for the beginning of February. I want to do 30 days, but I am going to see how it goes. This will be my 5 time, however I haven't done it in a year. I have a couple friends who are thinking of joining me, but are a little scared. I will post if they do. I am looking forward to reading about everyone's success and will keep all in my prayers. Congratulations in advance everyone.:)

It's reville lemonade brigade! Good morning SW Flushers! This is MC4D6 for me and have been up since 4:15 unloading the dishwasher and organizing the kitchen. Need to dash to the latrine to pee again - out my butt that is - hold on. ;) That was quick. Took the SWF early this morning since I awoke ready for a BM which I have not had on previous cleanses. Yesterday D5 was decent. Still lots of lower back pain and right shoulder pain. I thought I was clear of any cravings until my daughter had some pretzels in the back of the car. The smell killed me but I was loyal to my fellow soldiers of the Lemon Brigade Hooya!
All I have to say is: I SALUTE YOU AND ESPECIALLY THE GAL WHO IS ON D34 OR IS THAT 34D I'M DELERIOUS! cleaning

I started a new video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsmIXlMQmEM) on You Tube for day 5.
I did the salt water flush late again.
I thought about spirulina raw bars.
I craved sweets, like dates.
I craved Amy's pizza and veggie burgers.
I drank a gallon of water.
I got irritated easier than usual.
2 people at my job are starting Sunday! They are only doing 3 days, but that's better than nothing.
I burned 200 calories on the elliptical.
I took an Epsom slat bath.
Day 5 is the hardest day for me. I've only made it past day 5 once and that was the very first time I did it in mid 07. Up until now I thought that it was because most of the waste is gone by then, but since I got a colonic before day 1 most of the waste has been gone this whole time, so it must be a mental thing.

Im on day 7 of my first cleanse. I've lost 10 lbs. I was smoking a pack a day pre-cleanse and no desire to ever smoke again. I have been working out and have plenty of energy. I also take a medicine for my thyroid. I feel great! :)

Dude, YOU CAN MAKE IT PAST DAY 5 WITHOUT SPIRULINA BARS AND OTHER VEGAN DELIGHTS. Hang in there thatoneguy! I checked out your youtube video. Pretty cool. I'm thinking about doing one to the sound of butt pee HA! Just kidd'n. Keep up the good work and march on to day 10 with me. I have guests visiting this week and we are heading for a fine gourmet italiano restaurante. I'm going to drink water and make everyone feel unfomfortable. In fact, maybe I should SWF before we are seeted:eek::D Then go into the bathroom and make my Youtube video !JUST KIDDN!
The only easy day was yesterday until day 6 then tomorrow is the only easier day.
Cleanse on and Happy flushing

I am just finishing day four, this is my second cleanse, I love it. I did 10 days last year and am going to try for 20 if all goes well.
I have a question.....I was wondering if once a day can I heat the lemonade for my morning cup or use it with my tea bag? I heated one morning when it was really cold but then thought I had better ask.
Hi Strata, I drink every one of my lemonades heated, which is probably why I call them lemon teas. I don't have my books handy so I could be totally wrong, but my impression was that the lemon mixture was ideally to be served warm and ideally was to be mixed individually before each serving. Back when Stanley concocted this, clearly life was not as crazy busy as it is today!
These days, people mix a whole day's worth of lemon & MS (cayenne added to each serving) and then head off to work. I live really close to my office so the most I've every mixed is 2 batches worth and I put that in a thermal cup to keep it warm.
The only time I drink it cold is when I'm not on the cleanse. Added to a little vodka on the rocks (I leave out the cayenne here altho it might actually be good)-it makes a great cocktail! :D

I miss it!!
Lynda
Would you consider sharing the recipe for your cheesecake? I sounds so yummy!!

Starting Day 8. Wrapping up on the SWF. The smooth move took a minute to work this morning but it did seem like it finally is doing the job. And I'm amazed that it appears part of my tongue is actually turning pink. In the home stretch now.

MC 3/Day 34
WOW!!!!! so many bulletins to read!!
you guys sure left me in the dust since my last login a few days ago. It just seems to be part of life, that people need to better themselves by putting down others. Keep up the good work! This is about you and your body, nobody elses! Your almost there!:D
