Hi there all of you, have been reading with interest this Master Cleanse and have decided that its time for drastic action. so today is day 1!!!! have convinced my girlfriend to do it with me. made up loads of juice this morning and we are off!!!!

just a quickie though - am a bit worried about all the salt every day - is this safe, could we get the same affect by doing just the tea morning and night? also can't seem to find book over here in Brighton - can i download it somehow.

ta for all your help.

hey! welcome to the BB and congrats on embarking on your journey to better health!

I think the salt is okay since it passes right thru you (bc of the concentration) and you kinda drink so much water you make up for it. But if you have an issue with that, do the tea in the am and pm but the tea in the am isn't as thorough as the swf.
the swf is a FLUSH and it definitely FLUSHES you out. I found the tea gave me cramps and I would poop randomly at 3 in the afternoon where as the SWF is over within 2 hours then I'm done for the day

also, you can google the book and find it online.

Hey thanks for that info. will try googling book. did get the other mastercleanse book by burroughs on amazom. Am eagerly awaiting its arrival.

yesterday we did the tea in the morning and i was pooping for the world. today i did the flush and so far nothing, just a big round belly but i am at home so am safe for when it starts.

otherwise finding it not too bad apart from the continuous flashes of burgers, pizzas and kentucky fried chicken, none of which we usually eat at all. how weird is that? but am determined to continue and finding this board a great help!

if anyone knows about maple syrup perhaps you could help. there is no grade B over here, but there is 100% organic maple syrup from canada in the health stores which is what i bought, is this ok? ta muchly!

to infinity and beyond!

Rowse Organic Maple Syrup medium 2 is the same as grade b in the States.
You can get this from Sainsbury's

i don't know if you have a planet organic near you in Brighton? but i got this combination thing which is maple and palm syrup called madal bal natural tree syrup which has grade b maple syrup in it.

good luck.

i just made my first mixture but still have to finish my cup of lax tea before i try it - got a bit over enthusiastic about trying out the juicer.

i am also worried about the salt flush... so for today am just taking another lax tea this morning. i have a feeling my body will just try to absorb the salt.... it's the kinda thing it would do, i am just not a very "flushy" type of person maybe.

good luck with your fast!

Hi Wise_Ghost thanks again for the maple syrup info, really helpful :) I'll have to check Sainsburys' more throughly for that Rowse maple syrup :D

Hi chjones, great another Brit ! Welcome :D
Is there any chance of getting hold of some pure dark maple syrup ? Part of the reasoning behind the pure ms is because of the micronutrients, and dont want you to miss out ;)
With regards to the SWF, maybe worth trying once and seeing how you get on ? I tried it 3 times and no flush and no danger of absorbing the salt, as all 3 times it came straight back up again :-X. At that point I gave up and just went with the herbal tea in the morning instead, and still had a sucessful cleanse :)
Good luck :D

thanks vetiver.

i'm gonna try the SWF on sunday. the thing is i want my body to realise first that it is on a detox. i couldn't be certain but i think it is pretty likely that i have gone without food for a couple of days a few times in my life.

so i want my body to realise this is different. this is a cleanse! then i'll offer it the salt-water flush.......

so it'll realise it should use it to CLEANSE. and not try to eat the salt or whatever. :-/

I'm always drawn to anything UK oriented.... You do have Grade B Maple in the UK?

chjones: the ingredients in the lemonade cause me to go right into detox manifestations, the fuzzy tongue, chills, flu like symptoms etc. Keep us posted on whether or not you experience these as well. You'll do fine. :)

hello res

my body does realise.... i have a white tongue and passed some yellow bile this morning and last night sweated like crazy (i guess getting some toxins out). so this morning i tried the swf. i've just finished it. and actually i don't mind the taste too much!

so far (i love detailing this it's so revolting - don't read on if you have a delicate disposition....) i had a semi-solid bm first thing this morning, followed by two totally liquid ones, then i drank my swf --- and have had one liquid (i think yellow biley one) but as it goes i peed at the same time and forgot and put the loo paper before looking so can't be sure about that one. but the next one i checked and it was definitely yellow with just tiny, tiny bits of solid material at the very bottom of the bowl!

i feel fine - not particularly hungry. not particularly looking forward to 6 more sickly sweet lemonades today but there you go! i'm off to drink some pure water - phew what a relief! no salt in it and no syrup in it either!!!!!

LOL, nice one chj, it sounds as though you are getting right into the cleanse and doing really well on it :D Keep us posted ;)

If the lemondades are too sweet for you, maybe a touch less maple syrup ?

well as it goes Vetiver, despite the taste - i am thinking of adding more syrup!!

i am absolutely keen not to lose more than 2 to 3 lbs at most! i am so cheered by seeing posts saying day four no weight loss yet (phew!). i am already slightly underweight by definition although i am completely at my normal weight for me --- !

i wanted to do this to DETOX and cleanse out my system. not to lose weight at all. so hoping i can hold onto the weight and just detox... a couple of pounds i don't mind cos it's probably only water etc. etc. - right?

so yeah, i'll just have to get over the sickly sweet taste! :-)

chjones: For one of my cleanses I was at a weight that I was comfy with, but I wanted to see if Burroughs was really accurate about thinner people not losing much weight. SO, I did it and got down to 108 and stayed there for 6 days. I didn't lose another ounce. It was weird because I always consistently lose until the last day but it was mainly about me testing Burroughs ;) and evidently he comes up clean! So I don't think you'll have to worry about losing too much weight. What you WILL lose is mucous and toxins.

Keep us posted on how you're doing. :)

Cheers,
~Res

Vet, I still can't get over your "Troll" comment which I still crack up about. http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/happy051.gif I suppose I should get over it! ;)
